We use Desktop Enterprise 2021 and my company is looking at buying some construction related software. We are concerned about Desktop as a whole being discontinued and then our investment in the other software is a waste. I see online that all Desktop is discontinued in the UK. Is there reason to believe that won't be happening in North America? We have 70 employees, construction company with job tracking, use customized forms, 2 corporations, and I make a lot of backup copies then restore them to use as test companies to run transactions I'm not really sure about. I think all those reasons make Online a non-option for us. Bottom line - are you concerned about Desktop completely disappearing?

Hi Hector! I have a question for you. I have QB Desktop Pro Plus 2021 and it will not let me into my company file. It keeps giving me the error message "Your QuickBooks Subscription has lapsed". I saw your other video that QB was going to subscription only but I thought that was just for 2022 versions. I dont need all the extra features just somewhere to record journal entries. Is there anything I can do to even access the company file?
Hi Hector, I asked my accountant for my file in a flash drive. I do have 2019 QB but the issue is that my accountant had it in his 2021. Once I try to open it on my QB it’s unable to open it because it was upgraded to a newer version. Can I do anything to be able to open it on my QB? Or do I have to upgrade to 2021 or newer?

Is there any way around this mandatory upgrade? Our biggest problem is we are unable to receive payments in quickbooks, our need is only to notate that an invoice has been paid which we have to do in quickbooks otherwise we have another software linked to QB which we do all other functions related to invoicing. Our QB use does not justify the cost and we must use the desktop and not the online version for our other software to work

But I'm about to buy a new computer and I wonder if my QB 2019 will work with Windows 11 the same way it works with Windows 10? Intuit says "some things may not work properly" but I wonder if those are the same parts that I don't use anyway, so it won't matter to me? Or should I buy a Windows 10 machine? It just seems crazy to me to go from paying Intuit $200 every 7 years to now they want $349 every year... not worth it. Thanks for any ideas.

Hi Hector- I know it is after tax time but it would be really helpful if you could update your tax time video from 2017 on meals and entertainment, travel etc. I have such a hard time knowing how to categorize different types of meals. For example, the owner of a construction project having a party for the construction workers at the end of the job. Or buying bottled water for your office employees. And of course the changes in meals and entertainment rules.

Hector, I do not want to upgrade from Quickbooks Desktop Pro 2019 to 2022. I use Quickbooks for personal use and don't want to spend the money. I noticed today that when I open Quickbooks 2019, it runs so slowly that I can barely use the software. Is there a fix to this or is this due to not upgrading my Quickbooks Desktop Pro 2019 to 2022. I'm so irritated by this. Can you help?
@@HectorGarciaCPA After about an hour, everything came back, and my QB entries worked as normal, not slow. I thought this strange and believed it was due to not upgrading. My computer is fairly new and doesn’t have a lot of programs on it. Hope the problem doesn’t come back again. Thanks for replying.
Not being able to upload transactions manually, that's bullshit. I download transactions manually and upload them to the software myself, no need for qb service. They should be sued.
Yep. This is my problem, and I guess I will just have to enter all bank transactions manually. Not a big company and that's the only feature I ever used that I seem to be losing. So- I am waiting for some tech genius to figure out a workaround. My downloaded bank transactions are right there - only Intuit has purposely prevented the import. Maybe I need to find my original software disk and reinstall it - and never update it - and see if it works. You never know when they included the code that stops the import. :(
Qb Desktop 2022 is no longer on sale. The only option is QB Desktop 2023 starting at $549 (pro 1 user) per year

With the “plus” edition, you have to pay the annual fee to access it.

No… if you want the online payments feature, you need to be on a current version

i dont think 2019 is supported in windows 11, so you are on your own if you try to install ot
1. can you still create paychecks manually? 2. so you can't import .qbo files?
Payroll will not work any more, banking will not work (including importing .qbo files manually)

If I use Quickbooks on my desktop and my laptop when I'm out of town, do I have to purchase the package for one than 1 user?
