Yes. The instructions have you bypass the whole beans so you don't contaminate your beans, but the oil will build up on the brew group no matter what (coffee contains oil, which is part of what makes the crema.
I own this machine. It requires less descaling and maintenance than other super-automatics and I think it will outlive my prior Jura and Delonghi Super-Auotmatics. This is a good machine and a great value.
whoever made this video has a very different concept of a "thin layer of grease" than I do.
yes and its hard to see where it should actually go.
Yes! And don't let them anywhere near the semiconductor industry!!
How often do you have to lubricate the brew group? Weekly, after each rinse?.
Is the coffee oil remover tablet a necessary step for maintenance if I make coffee only with whole beans?

Easy to use and clean
Is the water tank dishwasher safe?
no! it says on the website to not put it in the dishwasher! :-)
Did not know took this much cleaning. Thought the filter and tray was the only maintenance 🙄
Same here! Maybe I was in denial of it at first, until my wife took it apart and saw all the mold 🫣.
same here!! but this video is so helpful, glad I found it!!
Do not buy this machine, unless you want to deal with coffee grounds everywhere inside the unit, which is impossible to clean
Can confirm.
@@hesido I can confirm this problem too.
I disagree. I've owned several super automatic machines, and this one takes the cake for easiest to maintain.
is that going to affect the performance of the machine though?
