"Hann (Alone in WInter)" is the bridge in a three-part song sereies of "Hann", "Hann (Alone), and "Hwaa", so Ding'o putting it in that order and including it was perfect. Soyeon described the songs as telling a complete story of a relationship break-up and eventual recovery.

You've no idea how happy you made me with this reaction! It's amazing, lovely and soooo satisfying to see someone highlight each member of a group, to mention what makes their voices and performances unique. I sooooo loved this video, thank you for reacting to this, it's one of my fav killing voice EVER and since it came out there were really few reactions that have actually made a point on their skills, talent and personalities, usually ppl only care about looks and belting. Hope to see more of this content in your channel, thanks for such a nice time!

Yes, definitely! React to all four of their Lee Mujin appearances. Yup, Minnie was actually on twice. She has special significance because she was his first guest and she kind of set the bar for the show. Her episode recently crossed 5M views. They asked her to be the special host because LMJ and Idle were releasing their latest comebacks this past month, so it was just a very well-timed special guest appearance. Yuqi and Miyeon's appearances are equally amazing and are really great watches.

16:20 yes, you can see it in her covers. she always chooses this kind of music and i love it because it's what i'm always listening to. i have a playlist that half are her cover songs, very gooood

"They use those two back-to-back a lot"... Yeah, Miyeon has a really bright timbre, while Yuqi's is really dark, so they contrast eachother really well. They also have the biggest voices in the group, so Soyeon usually deploys them for the pre-chorus/chorus parts that have more punch. It's why Miyeon & Yuqi stand out a little more in their rock-type stuff, like Allergy, Never Stop Me, Queencard. Whereas Soyeon uses Minnie's atmospheric tone for something like Oh My God.
(Obviously that's not to say that the other members have weak voices, as Minnie belts out the Lion verse, and all five have slayed the 'How do I look?' line in Nxde... which uses a mixed voice for that one. Really cool, by the way, to hear how they all sound differently amazing in that line).

How would you personally describe Shuhua's voice/tone-? I honestly feel like she has improved in both vocals and dance so much lately, so I'd like to see what you think Shuhua's 'role' in the group is. What types of songs do you think does her voice the most justice-?

    • @foreverneverland8197

@@tjsquibbofficial Shuhua's voice is quite lovely. I'd say her tone isn't on one extreme or the other, and she also has a pretty wide range, so that's why people say she's Idle's vocal chameleon, a very versatile voice. My opinion is that she does kind of have an airy, atmospheric kind of voice like Minnie, but can adjust her tone to be brighter (like in Never Stop Me) or darker. We haven't heard her belt before, but the mixed voice that she uses sounds in Nxde's 'How do I look?' sounds similar to Minnie's.
As far as how she differentiates her singing in the group, her niche seems to sing in a very husky voice with a detached personality---like "I'm too cool for this." I'm thinking about how she sings in My Bag or their That That cover.
Soyeon's also said that Shuhua has very charming pronunciation as well. Hence, the "la la la" bridge in Tomboy. There's also a certain cuteness in the way she phrases her words. When you consider that "I'm too cool" singing personality + the cute pronunciation.... "Boss Baby" is actually a pretty perfect nickname for her.

@@foreverneverland8197 I'm glad to hear that. So, out of curiosity, if she got the proper training, how good could you imagine her voice getting-? (i.e having the voice of a Lead/Main Vocal). I just love hearing Shuhua being praised due to her being my Bias and also people dissing her voice constantly (mostly saying it is 'too similar to Soojins'). The range thing is spot on definitely, I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out she has the widest range in the group. :)

@@tjsquibbofficial Shuhua and Soojin can have similar vibes at times, but they're unique in their own right. The similarity is that both can rock a very nice sultry low tone, but Soojin's unique charm as a singer was that her high notes were delicate and probably the prettiest sounding in the entire group (The "Help Me" OST is a good example).
But yeah... As far as how good Shuhua can become, it's tough to gauge. Idle doesn't write vocal parts for the purpose of showing off... They sing songs in accordance with what works best for expressing the song. So you might not see them do crazy vocal ad libs or powerful belts, though they certainly can. All of them are much better than people realize. People were surprised by the vocal line's appearances on Lee Mujin, and always comment that Soyeon live vocal sounds exactly like the studio recording. Shuhua herself might be a lot further along, and we just don't know it. But I really think the 'How do I look?' line in Nxde is actually a great example of where she's at. That line isn't insanely difficult, but you do need to place that in a certain way so that it has some vocal strength to it. Shuhua needed a little bit of coaching from Soyeon to do it, but she was able to do it. Comparatively, the end result wasn't as big and strong as, say, Miyeon, who Idle touts as its power vocalist...... But Shuhua sounded fantastic, and people enjoyed her singing that part just as much as Miyeon, Minnie, and Yuqi.
Shuhua has come a long way and continues to grow as a singer. The biggest thing I'm watching for during live performances is her confidence. She can look a little hesitant, like she's still gauging that she's singing it correctly, and you can see it in the Killing Voice here too, but that's fine. It comes with experience but she gains more confidence every comeback. People forget that she wasn't a long-time trainee like Miyeon or Soojin... she wasn't born into a musical family like Minnie and doing music all her life. As far as I understand it, she came to Cube as a trainee with no vocal experience. Shuhua was good enough to debut in a prominent group, and has grown and grown and grown. She works really hard and has come a long way. I think it was the kpopprince's channel that he said Shuhua's had the greatest growth he's ever seen in an idol, and I think that's really great praise. She's worked hard and her growth is something to be proud of.

@@foreverneverland8197 Yeah, I agree. It might just be me, but personally, I believe Shuhua deserves to be in Idle's dance line now. She is just so insanely talented, she is even quite a good rapper.
