- The new Spring 2023 McCalls Patterns are now out in some stores, however they are not on the Something Delightful . com website and I thought while they merge and update the new Big 4 website we might as well take a look at the new Spring 2023 McCalls Sewing Patterns Collection.

These change (alllll the time) but to give you a reference on my measurements since we are sewing: I am 5’5” and my measurements are as follows, upper bust 44”, full bust 45.5”, waist 39”, hip 46.5”

Love that they're bringing vintage patterns back. People are selling vintage patterns online at ridiculous prices.
Tell me about it! I have a few of them and they go for like $20 (after you pay for shipping and taxes) and upwards. I want to get one of the vintage ones to see what does the reproduction look like.
I know some previous vintage patterns rereleases have had sketchy drafting. I’m thinking of the infamous walkway dress. I have been scared to try them after reading a lot of negative reviews. I wonder if the newest vintage rereleases have addressed this issue now that it seems they are actually listening to the sewing community.
@@kathecampomanes1154 I didn't know that. I think it's always good to give the pattern a season and then let someone else make it... look for the reviews. Nothing irks me more than issues with drafting.
I love a lot of these, but some of the tops are just the bodice from previous dress patterns.
Really?!!!! I'll be honest I don't care for those with the empire waist. I'm busty, I don't need to have puffy sleeves and then on top of that look pregnant. That's not a good look for this lady. Totally geared for the much younger ladies.
I picked up the M8383 and I saw some new KNOW ME patterns too! I picked up The Corny Rainbows new one!
I’ll be checking the Know Me Patterns tomorrow. But M8383 is a must! Its a beautiful pattern.

I love your humor, Alex! I agree. Some big puff sleeves turn me off. I definitely don't like that puff sleeve. Too much. They have more vintage patterns this time. Thanks for sharing. I wonder if my location have them. I'll review the Know Me Patterns next. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on those.
I was just thinking, I don’t like a ton of these but I know that once I watch Tea’s video she is gonna change my mind. As she always does.

I made the Laura Ashley robe and nightgown when the pattern was new! My current machine was new at the the time, too haha.
Lynn, you know what they say… What’s old is new! Look at that other Laura Ashley Early Spring dress they re-issued. its been selling pretty well.
McCall Pattern does not offer the 60 age group much I like 8389, but I have a Simplicity pattern that is similar.
Mary you put it so eloquently!!!! One pattern, maybe. But yes this collection is full of no’s for me. I guess I’m saving tons of $$$ on these patterns.
i'm starting to think there have been unexpected delays in getting the new website up. it doesn't make sense that you'd have an ad campaign building excitement and then a several week lag where you just drop your new collections in stores without even being able to promote them online. the whole thing is kind of a mess at this point, imo. i know that i won't buy anything from any of these new releases until they get the full info on the website because i need to be able to see finished measurements to know if anything will fit me. also, random point...doesn't it feel like the men's sideways pocket on the jacket should be turned the other way around so you can get your hand in it, rather than facing the buttonband?
I suspect merging the websites is no piece of cake, but yes you do wonder why do that big push for an announcement and then make the announcement… and not give a date for when the release will be. As a business I’m all about making sure the $$$ keeps coming. Think of all the orders they are missing out on. Like you…. I want to see more detail on these patterns and the descriptions than what I’m seeing in the store. I do look at that online for a good hour before I decide on what to get. So lets hope they will update the websites soon. Plus I don’t even know if these are ALL of them. Just like with the New Look patterns, I didn’t see all of them so there may be more out there that I’m missing out on.
I agree with both you and Sarah, and having worked on a new website for a company I worked for, there’s a ton of work behind the scenes, and there usually some issues once you go live. IMHO the way they promoted it was a big marketing fail. To build up excitement about an upcoming announcement, well that announcement really needs to be a WOW…and this was not. 🤷🏻♀️

It’s totally different from using it with a computer than an iPad or mobile phone. I thought some things would have been better like “A line skirt vogue”…. But you type that and some random thing comes up like kids costumes and handbags. 🥴 so yes I feel your pain. For the longest time I couldn’t even get into my account.
