    Have you ever done one for a twin bed porch swing? I’d love to see that

      I have never had a request for one but would be a fun project if someone wanted one. If they do I will be sure to capture it for you.

    Won't the swing tip over backwards this way? Have you tested it by setting in it and leaning backwards to see if it's stable to hold you and someone else down while sitting on the swing? It looks really pretty. I'm not running down you build I'm just curious if this would work I'm thinking about making one myself this coming summer. Again she looks like a beauty.

      I have not had it tip backwards while I sit in normal. I don't think I could get it to tip backwards. That being said I have nieces that have been hoarse playing on it and they were able to tip the swing backwards. The stand base has not been able to be turned over by them yet.

    Do you have to have the post that high and the chairs that long? I would like to maybe have the post shorter so that maybe I could set a drink on them. Would it make a difference in how much it will glide?

      You could make the post shorter but it would give you a very small glide as you thought. That is the reason I put the cup holder in the swing itself so I did not loose the glide.

    do you have the plans wrote down?? love th idea for sure

      I do not have all the pieces written down but at approximately the 1 minute mark in the video is the plans I made up with the measurements I used. All angles are pretty much just 45 degrees except the cross bars and those are just angled to what it took to make up for the 1.5 inches of the outside board. If you have a further question on a piece feel free to ask and I can try to get a better drawing done up for you.

    when you sit on it do the sides come in as you're swinging?

    • @DougLearn
      @DougLearn  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No the sides stay put. If you have one person on it the swing does float more to one side so works better if you sit in the middle.
