Doug Learn the Workshop Handyman
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 10 ต.ค. 2006
I am a handyman with a hobby of wood working. I have been doing repair work for 45 years. I enjoy the challenge of repairing things and building all sorts of things from wood. I enjoy helping people solve problems with their home. I am retired and work a part time job at the local hardware store for the social time and lets me help those that come in with questions on how to fix their home. Hopefully my videos will have some helpful hints on your project and maybe a few off the wall videos just for fun.

Customer says that oil is just poring out of it when he puts bar oil in it. I find and fix the problem and fix the rest of the oiler while I am at it.

Thank you so much fixed my own oven
Great video. Watching you in real time overcome the factory design deficiencies of the Grizzly has convinced me to accept some extra overtime and buy the Tormek.
As a Journeyman Tool and Cutter Grinder that thng is an absalute joke!
I ended up breaking the throttle trigger’s pivot off the handle by prying open the handle as shown in this video. I fixed it with a drywall screw, but next time I’ll completely remove the right half of the top handle to access the primer bulb.
Hi
Thank you Doug, my dryer is fixed now, great Turorial.
Thanks Glad you found it helpful
Thanks. It’s hard to explain to someone what I’m talking about and their thousands of miles away
Yeah. Thanks for taking the time to show more details!
Thanks for the comment and glad it was helpful.
Nice work, Sir! Thank you for sharing.
Heavy board...not easy to handle i guess
I would have used a Kevlar rope as they do not break again hence no more replacements needed.
I will have to do some research to see about getting some. It is a lot of work and I would not want to have to replace this to often for sure.
Well done!
Flow switch is supposed to be before the cell, not after.
Per the Hayward manual it says that the flow switch is after the cell. With it after the cell you would know that all the flow it is picking up on has made it through the cell. If it waas before the cell and there was a leak then you would not be sure all the flow was truely going through your cell.
@DougLearn just checked Google, and sources say it can be before or after the cell, as long as there is 12 inches of straight pipe before the switch. The cell itself can count as part of the 12 inches.
@@JuanSanchez-tk4vr I would think it does not matter to much as long as there are no leaks between the switch and the cell.
Is thermal fuse easy to replace on this ?
Yes All thermal protectors are just 2 screws and 2 wires
Any idea where it is located on this model dryer ?
@@joshl6499 All the thermal switches are shown in the video. I would need to know what your problem is to tell you the one to replace. I would just replace all if you are into the dryer already. They are not expensive
I believe the thermal fuse has blown, it should just be the one. The dryer turns on and makes a "click" but won't run. Wife had it on highest setting for multiple loads.
@@DougLearn I believe it's the Dryer Thermal Cut Off fuse
thanks I need my oven🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉. I almost gave up
Thank you for sharing and your hardwork. I’m so angry because I’m short so many of the screws with the blue bottom. 😢😢😢
Hope it helped with figuring it out. It is frustrating to be missing parts. Hope they will send you a pack of them.
Thank you exclamation point Widow here and learn to use TH-cam to fix things
I just got my T33904 in and thought the same thing with the instructions on the spline. I was like, uhhhh how are we supposed to know which is which if you don't tell us which is which! So I have it set up just like yours...although when I watched one of the official Grizzly videos, they have it installed opposite. Oh well, I'll see how it goes.
idid what you did and my snapper works thanks saved 200.00 dollars
Glad it was helpful
What was the torque lbs?
Torque lbs of what?
Batteries are cheap, why keep loose Batteries around. Makes no sense.
It works! I was shown this at work and I thought it was BS too. So I used to carry multimeter at work and one day while bored. I went through a stack of AA batteries and then checked with the meter. It works good enough in a pinch.
Dropping the third one completely differently to the others, why bother making this crap up?
try it for yourself , you will then be a believer
Third one wasn't dropped any differently, this is actually a physical property of the battery and the way they work. The chemicals used to create the capacitance between battery layers will compress less when it's new.
bullshit
dont knock it till you try it. It works
Ive tried it it absolutely works how i have absolutely no idea but it works
👍
awesome thanks
Thanks
your welcome
I am needing this exact type of molding for my uneven floor transitions. How can I contact you?
I am in the columbia SC area. Are you somewhat local to that? You can email me at douglearn@gmail.com and we can try to work something out
I need to sand doors that are 35 1/4 long . Is the flat side that long or can you slide it off the end without rounding it? I have to keep it perfectly flat in the paper.
Let me start with the sanding surface is about 32 inches. All stops and dust collection points can be moved out of the way so you could run a piece as long as you want along the bed. The big part of keeping it flat and straight is being able to keep the correct amount of preasure equal on the full lenght of what you are sanding. I would think you would be able to keep them pretty flat and straight if you start out straight. A saw or jointer would be ble to get them straight and a light sand would be easy to accomplish from there.
Great video. Thank you.
Thanks for checking it out and glad it helped
Got mine changed but now they stay stuck forward and won't retract back. Ridiculous
Was fun testing it out and almost smoking my house with my mower..I got OEM reverse retracts fine, but going forward I have to manually push them back, if I'm driving forward I can literally let go and it'll just go
You're wasting people's time. Definitely not someone I would want to help me or anyone else.
Real idiot. If you're going help people and don't know what you're doing, quit acting like you know when you don't.
Good video on the recoil spring repair👍
Can’t see much detail. Thanks for the effort.
Thank you so much! This fixed my problem!
glad it helped
From the looks of the shape that machine is in, it probably also needs and oil change and the wheels removed and greased (most people don't know how to do either) It hard to see what our doing with your hands in the way of the camera. I've fixed hundreds of recoils so I know pretty much what needs to be done. The inside of the housing needs to be cleaned from and dirt debris and the shaft of the recoil need to be greased. ALso the little things you mentions that are falling out are the dogs that catch so the motor turns over. Most of them usually have springs attached to them to hold them back when not in use, so you need to be careful while working on it so they don't go flying off into the air (and you will spend all afternoon looking for one of them...)
My tank is in the way. No way mime will pull out that easy. Ridiculous
They are tight to get to but possible on mine so you should be able to get it. Wish you luck
Thank you from Australia
Thankyou. Just saved me a service call
Happy I could help you out
Very nice video, I have the craftsman version of this mower with the combo deck. Thing runs like an animal with the 8hp briggs. Took the rear wheels off today to replace them and noticed I have play in the rear axle, I can see the worn part right at the end of the housing, OEM manual just says its a bushing? I want to order the right part what do you think Thanks Ken
I would take the worn out one to the hardware store or lawnmower repair place and match it up with one that will work. Some bushings are kind of common and are just stocked. It was a good mower and the first one I had worked on.
@@DougLearn thanks for the reply, OEM part number I cant seem to find online, sears says discontinued, will have to due more research to keep this old girl running
Thanks for this video!
Glad it helped you out
Thanks. 👍 I have two of those since new. 5007nb and 5007z. Both quit. Time to check the switches. Thought it might have brushes. Not sure.
They do have brushes. I have not had to change them in all the years I have owned mine.
Thank you very much my friend I took it apart before I order the part and I couldn't remember how the hell he goes back so by watching your video you help me a lot thanks for your time
Glad it helped
you are the most amazing person in the world, took me forever looking through forums for all kinds of fixes for this error and none of it worked and this literally took less than a minute to get my oven to work again
I am glad that this simple fix worked for you.
Nice shop and tools. I saw that you have the crafstman radial arm saw, the same model as mine, I have a problem with the V bearings of the carriage and here in Brazil i can't find it, do you know if it is easy to find in USA? Thanks
I would have to see if I could find a parts breakdown for it. Do you have a part number for it?
How can I replace this whole part? I've tried everything still the same as this video
Have you ohmed out your switch to see if it was that?
I’ve tried everything too, including testing the switch, bypassing it, etc My friend/landlord used the self clean and this happened. Her husband changed the motherboard and it worked, but she used the self clean again and the same thing happened. I have a feeling that a small wire somewhere is damaged. I’m going to take it apart and examine every inch
Just ordered one for the high school shop, thanks for the video!
I am liking mine a lot. Hope you find it as useful as I do.
How do you do that for a gas stove that dont lift up like that
Sorry I have not worked on a glass top to know where the switch is. You might have to get to it from inside the stove.
Just following your instructions. Thanks so much!
You are welcome! Glad to help.
