    I absolutely loved this video Ardyth ❤ I really struggle to get that perfect blend, mainly because I probably don’t have the best quality brushes. Some of my brushes have really stiff bristles for some reason, so may have to look into the Altenew ones. You make the gel press look so simple with the brayer so it gives me hope. I’m still getting used to the brayering technique, and maybe I need a wider brayer to get better results. Oh well, you’ve given me hope that I’ll get there one day! Loved the backgrounds and the cards 😊❤

    • @ardyth
      @ardyth  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Inkblending is definitely all about practicing! lol! It's taken me years to get to where I am and I'm still not always happy - that's why I have back up strategies for when the blending isn't as good as I want it! lol! Thanks for watching!

  • @kcinca5410
    @kcinca5410 ปีที่แล้ว

    Making sure you used up all that solar paste made me laugh. Waste not, want not, which is another reason I have so many backgrounds laying around. I can't seem to just wipe up my ink from the mat. I have to smoosh some card into it so I can use it all up. I'm getting better at ink blending but maybe this method will encourage me to do more. Also, I do love "making my own cardstock" by swinking my ink pad over the edges of the card base for my frames. So easy to get just the color I want/need. I like all the backgrounds and the cards, too.

    Loved this video. Now I need a 6 inch brayer! All of the panels look great but my favorite is the last one too. . Maybe it is an optical illusion, but there is a glow between each color on where the ink was hand blended. When covered by another technique or element, it's not as noticeable between each panel, but it's still there. Thanks for doing the heavy lifting Ardyth.

    I have actually done this but have not gotten the results you did. I think I needed to use foam ink pads rather than my felt pads. I think if it was me, I would probably do a hybrid of the two. I liked that the colors on your real ink blended panel had more differentiation in the colors. Great video as usual!!

    • @ardyth
      @ardyth  ปีที่แล้ว

      I would try adding more layers. Or maybe refilling your ink pads but definitely one of the advantages of Catherine's foam pads is that they transfer ink easily. Thanks so much for watching!

    I rarely use a gel plate to ink blend. I need to do this again. I am making a journal that I printed images on one side but the backs are white. I will pull my gel plate out after a wall is painted and my table is clear again. Thank you for this!!
    When I'm using something thick, I can't spatter well with a fan brush. I use a small brush that doesn't hold a lot of paint. I also tap the handle on whatever is handy, which mens it is often tapped on the hand not holding it.

    They are all nice but I like the initial one best. I like the unmixed color. It seems the gel plate makes more brown, but if you used colors next to each other, like green and blue, that won't be an issue. 😊

      I see that. I'm hoping that as I get more practice, I'll be even better at it. In the meantime, the hybrid panel at the very end seemed to be the best of both worlds! Thanks for watching!

    They are all lovely. I think the "hybrid" way is genius! Thanks you for all you do!
