Thank you for these little spots on all the great neighborhood places which make South Philly so unique... In the last year or so, Philadelphia has been hating on South Philly... I've heard people have said Oh their Trumpers, they're racists.... what people don't understand is we are proud of where we come from and to have outsiders come into our neighborhoods trying to change things that are a part of our community and a part of our neighborhoods is the reason why we've become so confrontational. These places and things are pert of our lives and childhood.. they don't seem to understand... We Love South Philly!!!
F*ck John's Water Ice. Yea I said it. The place has the best water ice in the city and they know it but they STILL refuse to staff properly. Two girls scooping water ice and a line 2 blocks long. You know... NOT EVERYONE lives in the neighborhood or takes mass transit. A lot of people drive. On busy days, it can take 30 min or more just to find a street parking. Then you park, blocks away, finally get there, and now you have to wait in line 35 min to an hour. It is absolute bullsh*t !! They could open up another window on the other side of the building and have eight scoopers working and really move this sh*t along but Anthony does not give two shi*ts about how long people wait. On busy days if you drive and need to find parking, it can be 1.5 hours to 2 hours before you are back at the car with your water ice.
