In saint louis we have the same thing - it's called Italian ice. This was so refreshing to see a positive story in regards to a young & black man. Wishing his business more success! Ontop of that he is truly humble! Can't find humbleness anywhere now a days

Italian ice is a Philly thing it's just another name for water ice.
I grew up in South Jersey/ Philly. Italian Ice and Water Ice are definitely not the same.
This inspires me so much I have a water ice / ice cream stand and my next move will be to have a store ❤😊

In N.Y. , we call it Italian Ice. I could NEVER mess with that shaved Ice after growing up eating creamy, flavorful Icees. Shaved ice is a drink to me. I bet this guy will make a killing.😋
Has me inspired, I was on here looking for something totally different and ran across this. I’m in the process of getting my business going even more and this was confirmation. I don’t have all the funds or backing but I’m still doing it. Keep it up brotha. I tried Philly ice years ago from a cat doing a pop up here in LA and it was fire!

I’ve met a lot of people from a lot of places, and one girl always used to talk about this wooder (Philly was strong as hell) ice. Made it sound like the best thing ever!
I live in Philly and just got a rainbow water ice. The original rainbow water ice in Philly is blue raspberry, cherry and lemon. Via Veneto invented the rainbow and a lot of others.
I love it because the rainbow ice it’s not just plain coloured ice t’s literally all the flavours I love this

I LOVE THIS! I love his inspiration behind it, I love his Uncle for helping make this guy the man he is today, I love that when he came up with the idea he called his Mom and she supported him and he made his dreams, concept and business a reality. This is certainly a feel good story, you can’t let the circumstances of others around you determine your destiny. I was thrilled looking them up just now and seeing they’re still in business (especially after the lockdown). These self made men, rather men who embraced the positive support around them versus the negative influences that tried to take him over and do something great with themselves. Heck wish I could franchise it with him and start one clear across the country where I am. This is brilliant!

I have an ice cream truck and a Food Truck and several food carts but something about this strikes me really interesting. I started with nothing I was homeless with nothing and I worked two jobs walked all over town bought myself a van and a hot dog cart and I came up from there. This story is what it's about. It really is good for you

When I lived in Tucson for 20 years (moved back to CA) we ate something similar. AZ has "Eegees" but nothing like that in CA. I hope they expand to CA.

Okay so I tried it and it tasted delicious flavors are verry fruity and texture is like a snow cone not really an ice cream texture and I would recommend to get the watermelon one it taste verry good.
I always remember them as yum yums

I keep seeing ppl say that Italian ice and water ice are different. I just googled it and the only difference is that water ice uses artificial flavoring where traditional Italian ice uses real fruits. They are still basically the same thing. And yes I’m Italian and I’m from south jersey.

Water Ice and Italian Ice are catching on I had some in New Orleans lately and they are quite popular there. I also had some in Vegas when I got home! One place added ice cream and condensed milk in theirs 😊😊

I would assume that he saved his tattoo money. If he is a tattoo artist they can make a lot of money. Anyone who has tattoos would tell you this. Sleeping in the shop probably allowed him to save more. Three or four good "sleeves" would be plenty for a food truck. Cost of startup for this business is probably as low as a business can be. This TH-cam video is showing the final product. I am sure it wasn't anything like that when he first started selling Happy Ice. My two cents.
