This is the intro to Jack Stratton's brief tutorial on Stevie Wonder's clavinet parts on "Superstition". I've transcribed what Jack is playing and put it at the bottom of the screen (which obscures the second, simpler but still important clavinet part being played--sorry about that).

I'm not the one doing the slapping in this case, but I appreciate it noenetheless!

Who needs a drummer when your got constant percussive sounds and about 3 musical notes a bar ...kinda nothing like the lady who played behind Stevie...but swingy nevertheless 🤔😊

I'll certainly grant that, with all due respect to Jack Stratton, he's not remotely the keyboardist Victoria Theodore is. (I'm sure he'd readily agree.) But beyond that, I think Jack's full tutorial is extremely useful. Victoria's video is amazing--totally recommended!--but her performance seems very much informed by what she played on stage with Stevie--which is part of why it's so awesome!--while Jack is pulling apart the two or three simultaneous clav parts on the original recording and talking about what he sees Stevie doing in performance footage. They're not exactly the same, and that's great. I'm super grateful that the internet gives me access to both.
