I really enjoy watching your videos and thanks for sharing. I also have a Catalina 42 MKII. Mine is a 2006 which I bought in 2022. Last season, my daughter and I spent 3 months in the Bahamas. Now I am doing some boat work so I may not go too far from the FL coast. I do plan to go to Rio Dulce next season. Can you share some more detail about the route that you took and how was the Gulf Stream crossing? Also, which Spinnaker sail you have and where did you get it? Thanks and Fair winds and following seas
Hi! We crossed the Gulf Stream twice, once from the Dry Tortugas to Cuba, then from Cuba to Isla Mujeres. We waited a week for favorable wind/currents but it was fine. The worst part was between Cuba and Isla, but no worse than going to the Bahamas. Going South from Isla was pretty slow past Cozumel on the inside further down we ducked into inside passage of Belize and got out of the currents. Spinnaker is an asymmetrical from Precision Sails.
Wowwwww..it’s Nice 👍
Big thanks for posting your terrific video. It’s nice to see you guys again. For a minute there I thought you were crossing the Pacific Ocean :)
Our pleasure!
