I like to stage behind Fisher Island. Right on Gov Cut and the inlet.

Nice to see a crossing from No Name worked with so little northerly current push. I've seen some cruisers who head out of No Name past the #2 marker and go SSE for several miles, then head E in the current to arrive at entrance to Bimini. I've also seen sailors try to head straight out of main Miami channel and find themselves many miles north of the north end of Bimini. 20-25 kt power boats can make that passage work but not 6kt sailboats. You can anchor out in a few places off Alice Town, dinghy to Hero Park and check in.
Surprised you did not go into the very protected harbor at Bullock Harbour.
Anchoring in the small harbor on S side of Rose Island does have good protection from northerly.
Bummer about having to get new dinghy engine as both having the old one fail and they are not cheap in Bahamas.
I'm sure you are enjoying the Exumas, the water does get warmer as you head down chain. Weather is another thing altogether.

Hi thanks for the info. There wasn’t enough swinging room for us inside Bullocks harbor. Many boats were looking for shelter at the time.

Nice job guys. Keep it up. What's your boat/anchor?

We have a Catalina 42 MKII and use a 55lb Vulcan anchor which we love. Episode 1 talks about little more about the boat.

Nice adventure. Big thanks for sharing❤. I’m hoping to purchase a sailboat this year, and I’m planning on spending some time in the Bahamas. Nice to garner some knowledge, etc.
