Its very enlightening to get another perespective about something so complex as soul and divine authority . But according to my theological understanding soul is immortal ,soul is indestructible ,it only changes its vehichle i.e. body .And it is very much evident from a verse of bhagwat gita : "नैनं छिन्दन्ति शस्त्राणि नैनं दहति पावकः। न चैनं क्लेदयन्त्यापो न शोषयति मारुतः No weapon can cut the soul into pieces ,nor can it be burned into fire .nor moistured by water ,nor withered by wind. The way of Salvation is 'Sacramentalism", today many people can be "in" and also go to Church but we are not "in" the church, which is the body of Christ, we are not Saved for the eternity in the Church if we are away from the Sacraments and if we don't live with those in our spirit, we are not "in the Church". The Sacraments are the truth of the lord, He teach us this and that's the way to our Salvation.
