Slingshot Hunting and Ferreting | Catch and Cook

- Father and son rabbit hunt, Caodhan and I enjoyed a hot summer days rabbit hunting with the ferrts, dog and slingshot. The slingshot I'm using is my Titan Hunter (medium ott) with 20-12mm tapered snipersling black 0.5mm thick firing 8mm steel shot.

I used to do this with my Dad when I was a kid and it's good to see people still doing it in today's crazy pc environment. It's how we all used to survive years and years ago and the traditions & skills should never be lost & forgotten !

It really was a good day. Hottest day recorded here yesterday we had planned to stay longer but the heat was cruel on us

My father just past away looking thru his iv come a cross his longnet can rember going down south to buy it sure it was the actule in enter he bought it from might be wrong but can rember going out using it was great fun good shooting with your catapult 😊👍

Love your videos. I watch you, Gamekeeper John, Wayne Martin and Zach Fowler. Trying to up my catty game. I shoot a Simpleshot Axiom Ocularis, but I’ve made and shot several naturals. Even have a dedicated fishing natural forks that shoots darts. Keep it up!

Hey Chris, what are you using to tie on your pouches?
I found that 0.5 black Snipersling was breaking quite quickly with crystal string ties, I've tied some band sets up with amber belt but haven't had chance to test them yet.

Not really they just need to be tame. I half wild ferret that hasn't been handled frequently would give you an awful bite. Ferrets have a very powerful bite that's why the rabbits are usually very keen to get out of the Warren. Zeus polecat is my ferret ferreting channel

Hey mate have you tried the .6 snipersling black with the 8mm steel? Cheers.
Yea mate it's too much for them .5 snipersling black is the fastest band I've used with 8mm steel.
@@CatapultCarnage yeah okay even with a smaller taper would it still be too much? I live in a real cold climate so I am hoping it'll account for that even though they are anti cold? On one of your vids you shoot a .72 band with 8mm steel and I understand that it is not as fast as the .5 but do you think the .6 would still have them travelling faster than the sumeike .6?
The .6 would probably be better in less than 5°c at a guess. I've shot both in cold and would prefer the .5 to be honest. Ireland is not a really warm country

I dropped him into soft leaves and grass from about 10 inches it doesn't bother him in the slightest. The wide angle lense on the gopro makes everything look further than it is
