That Bmw has an Adaptive transmission meaning that it has gotten used to how it's been drove and shifts accordingly. If it's jerkey or shifts hard etc then reset it. It's easy to do in the '06 3 series. Turn the ignition on but don't start car, let engine lights go out then hold gas pedal down for 30 seconds, you may hear the gear box reset itself to factory settings. Let offf the accelerator then turn ignition off then back on & enjoy a totally new driving experience. Flush your trans as well of course if it's over 100,000 miles. This car also has an adaptive fuel setting in starting to learn about that can be reset as well. Apparently the car gits used to how the previous owner or you if bought new uses the accelerator, so if you run the piss out of it, it's gonna throw the fuel to it I guess, I don't know for sure bout that but there are bmw owners gitting new transmissions when it's not needed, and other work down by bmw dealers who charge thru the roof when these cars simply require simply resetting certain things. I've been checking these things I've discussed out on TH-cam as y'all can as well. I've got an '06. 325 i and it used to act crazy till I rest the trans in 30 seconds and flushed it. Ok. Peace. I'm gone
I have a 2006 323i manual from almost brand new. Alpine white in colour. Still perfect. Still handles like a dream. Yes economy can be an issue compared to nowadays cars but it's an old school BMW straight six. 3 th and 4th gear ... sweet spot. Once you start it up drive it for about 15 - 20 minutes make sure oil is topped up and wait for the engine to get to a nice operating temperature..dependent on the weather....then drive. Steering is so perfect...just point and shoot. On to my 3rd BM now but still have the e90 . Pure Driving Pleasure.
My 06 330I is a manual so no problem there. And i average about 25 mpg and the only time i drive economically is when i'm on empty trying to get the nearest gas station from my house, which is about 15 minutes away because i live in the country.
My friends BMW 325i 2006 ------imported from japen with none problems none oil leaks drives like a dream ,by now done 57000 Km , very nice, we only feed #98 petrol.
i had a 06 325xi, and put 200k miles on it over 10 years. never had any of these issues or anything major either. just sold it a few months ago and it was still running solid. now im rockin a 2015 328xi
@Kim Jung-un THE DEAR LEADER I have a 2006 325xi manual 6 speed with 258,000 miles. No issues what so ever. Awesome drive, I had a 328i and a 1994 325i manual 5 speed and I like the xi better.
I have exact this same car. It is dirt cheap to fix these cars in africa for some reason. To improve gas mileage on bmw: > Change the two vanos solenoids (car shifts 50 times better and smoother). Chinese sell these vanos for 19 bucks ebay!! > change the spark plugs and the ignition coils. > change the six fuel injectors. > sometimes the car jerks when the mounts are bad, not necessarily the trans. Even when there are no errors, refresh these parts
1. Transmissions issues.. that "jerky" feeling or rough shifting could go away with flushing the tranny fluid. I'm currently having transmission issues and will be flushing my tranny very soon, although it feels like my tranny went to toast already. Make sure you check that out before blowing 1k on a new tranny. 2. As far as gas mileage goes, I thought the same as well. 13 mpg is very little and experienced the same when I bought my car. Later realized that constantly driving the car like a douche (DS, Manual mode or even automatic) will enormously make a difference in your average MPG. Drive at speed limits (like a grandma, no fun, I know) and you should expect at least an average of 17.0, which is what I get. I live in California and mostly drive city miles. I was getting like 12.9 mpg when I first got my exhaust installed cause I loved the sound of it at high rpms haha but hope this helps man!
MAN, you are great. Taking your time to watch my video and help me with my problems really means alt. Ill be taking the car down for a tranny oil change soon. Thank you
There is actually a BMW TSB on the transmission issue says flush fill and they add a special additive, if that doesn't work it's torque converter and if that doesn't work it's transmission.
I was experiencing issues with my transmission for quite a while. the car would often skip gears and have really jerky up shifts and down shifts, the car would also crank for a very long time for it to start. if you're experiencing similar issues try checking your crankshaft sensor. it was the culprit in my car.
faizisarea NO WAY. My car jerks gears and when ever I put it on sport mod and shift manually the 5th gear always slips. This is becuase of that sensor?
It is quite possible, I went to many different bmw workshops and they all suggested that the tranny should be replaced until someone told me about this. Do you experience rough idles and long cranks?
the sensor itself is like 20 bucks but the labor required is quite expensive so before you blow all that money on something that might not be faulty just try a simple transmission fluid change. 60k interval is what the experts suggest anyway so I guess it's about time.
faizisarea the car starts up just fine. It's the first gear the jerks the car forward at a stop and the 5th gear that shifts the rpms up instead of down causing the trans malfunction to come up on the dash
The crankshaft sensor might be the issue as they are very prone to overheating and the symptoms get worse over time. in my case, at the beginning I just noticed rough gear changed and a msg on the dashboard but over time the car idles very rough and it would take quite some time for it to start. Just something for you to keep in mind. Just pray to God that it's not the mechatronic sleeve or else you're screwed
I get 33.9 on the highway on my 07 328i and 22.7 on the city. I love my puppy and the crazy thing is that I drive all kinds of vehicles at the dealership and they feel like crap my old timer 2007 runs and drives way better than any other vehicle out there... bmw forever
Sorry to hear you're having those problems. I can understand your frustration. I'm lucky enough not having encountered such issues on my 65k 6 yrs old E92 330i N52 272hp, since purchase 4 yrs ago. I get 30+ mpg on my commute 85% motorway / 15% slow traffic, but 18 mpg on slow traffic only. I generally have a pretty light foot. Start/stops will absolutely kill any fuel economy on this car. High speed (100) will return a very decent 25+ mpg. I've noticed in your video you don't seem to have a smooth ride, you accelerate quite sharply which is when mileage goes down the most. A good solution to prevent the jack audio port issue is to plug your cable and leave it in the armrest forever. Avoid plugging / unplugging every time you connect you phone or mp3. Do the plugging in your audio device instead, not in the port.
Hi. I'm looking into getting a 2009 330i as well but it has very less mileage i.e. 30k kms only. Makes me think why it was driven so less. The car drives very well and looks in great shape. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks
Transmission doesn't fail, the mechatronics solenoids fail and the seals. Easy fix. I do it all day long. The seal go flat and won't hold pressure during shifts, a $20 fix.
i have a 2006 325 ci,,i have never had a single problem, just a headlight housing replacement. i have 140,000 miles now and never any issues, knock on wood.
If u still want one go for it be ready for all the plastic coolant hoses to fuck up on u pay attention to notifications if not something may happen (common sense ofc) god bless
list of problems with mine: oil pan gasket leak oil filter leak (fixed) side mirror was faulty (fixed) one angle eye wasn't working (bought some lux v7 replacements) radio screen is dead (cuts in and out) air conditioning bearing is bad amoung others lol At least all those problems will be fixed for free and I only paid 4800 USD for the car.
man just like you said 10000miles then service is not a safe time to do service, i service my car around 5000miles per once ,and service is not simply change oil and filter , it should follow the offical service rule, like you should change transmission fluid every 40000KM ,etc. So that ur car would be more reliable to drive.
The car has 10 years, what do you expect? I have a 2008 318i and its perfect. I know that in US sold american bimmers with a GM transmission, europeans has ZF
I got a 2006 320i and its the best car by fucking far iv ever had on gas. Absolutely mind bogling and iv had smaller engine cars and still my bmw is by far the best. Its brilliant
Odometer is currently 239,000 for $4,500 (owner said price is negotiable). Interior and exterior is mint as well. Looking for a work car and came across this one I found. What do y’all think? Is it worth it?
I have a 2013 335i but before that car I had a 325xi 2006 and almost everything you're saying happ to my car. I went through the back and guerilla glued the aux port. It worked for me and never fell back down. It almost seemed like it was better than those stupid plastic clips. Loved the e90s but f30 stepped the game up from technology.
hey been a fan of your page for a while now pros to the growing following the past year but did you ever diagnose the problem with the transmission would be a big help
Angle Moya tbh man the problem is not minor, I replaced my pan, bolts, filter and fluids and it did not change a thing. That cost me well over 300 dollars. I found out that I can either mean my solenoids are shot which is another 300 or my tranny
You should have bought it with a Manual Gear shift! I can NOT understand how come people buy those awful AT....I just can NOT understand...you give up your control of the car, and rely on a jerky transmission....It's all about winding through the gears, pushing the revs a little bit when needed (passing by another car)....
Bought a 6 speed 06 330i for $3,000, 142,000 miles, needed to replace struts, a sway link, it had a small oil leak, and a some light bulbs we’re burnt out. But it has the sport wheels, sport suspension, sport brakes. It’s a cheap mans m3 almost.
I am scheduled to pick up a BMW that I purchased tomorrow actually it is a 2006 325I it has 125,000 miles on it and it comes with a six month warranty The warranty covers the engine and a couple other things but I did not see if it cover the transmission does anyone have any advice does this sound like a good purchase?????? OK I looked it up I’m getting a six month warranty with the car that covers the engine and transmission seals gaskets and suspension
How is a manual 325xi of this year or gen? I live in NY and with my shit fwd car I cant survive another snow storm so I need an awd car also want to get better at stick so that also would save me any of the trans problems hes getting
If you're experiencing fuel economy that bad with a 325i, you should have a scan run to check for a bad eccentric shaft sensor. It can go bad and not set off a light on the dash and can negatively affect your fuel economy. You could also check it by removing the vanity cover from the top of the engine and checking the sensor connector socket. If it has oil in it, you sensor is bad. If you happen to have an E90 (325i and 328i) with the N52B30 engine, there is a performance upgrade path. You can add the 3 stage manifold from a 2006 330i and with a tune it will increase the horsepower to equal that of a 330i.
If your doing 100 mph like nothing and didn’t check the car when u bought it don’t take care of it that’s what happens lol buy any car won’t take care of it no car will last
i have a manual... new fly wheel and clutch... and the surrounding issues with the repair itself. it will be fine. just fix it they wont sell to MAX or CARVANA
Grayson 04 vlogs I've had it for over 9 months now. I recommend getting a 2009 or new. The lci style. They fixed all major issues by this year. But if you get a good deal like mine under 60k miles than get these.
Hi. I'm looking into getting a 2009 330i as well but it has very less mileage i.e. 30k kms only. Makes me think why it was driven so less. The car drives very well and looks in great shape. Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks!
Honestly from my experience. A car that’s been sitting is a car that’s been neglected. You don’t have to drive a car, but you need to still do maintence. If he has not done regular oil changes then engine and trans can have some serious issues for fluids sitting so long
@@NourHummadi The service history is quite straightforward and it was taken every year for services. Getting a pre-purchase inspection done at bmw today to find out of there's any faults. If alls well then maybe ill go for it.
Might be actually trading my 99 Mustang soon for one of these. Gonna sub so I got someone to watch for reference for any issues I get if we get the same problems. Sadly its got 140k+ but I like the look of it and I need a 4 door
I had the AUX connector drop in the center console of a BMW that I bought...I used a pair of needle nose pliers and brought it back out. I've seen the fixit videos and they are waaaaay too complicated, remove the center console my @ss! Pop a dab of epoxy on the side and you're set if you're heavy handed otherwise don't jam the teensie 3.5mm socket in.
You know what I love about these "E90 Common problems" videos? Every video has different 'common problems' -- meaning there aren't any common problems, their just a lot of them. Garbage!
I guess if you don’t really have to get to work in the morning and can have coffee at the dealership get a BMW otherwise just go with Acura or Lexus, I’m sorry but German engineering isn’t what it’s hyped up to be
Seriously dont get a 2006 e90. The transmission is crap, the waterpump goes out, the thermast will go out, eats coil packs and fuses, fan essembly is crap.. i should know all of it went out for me.
@@hectorguerrero6154 They have a bad reputation of failure, mainly because of the "lifetime" fluid that BMW originally claimed. If you service them with high mileage, there is a good chance they will have issues. Early generation SMGs are also considered a huge red flag and should be avoided.
damn bro look how far you came lmao! but i still have my 2006 e90 330Xi at like 72k now and it’s damn near perfect beside my power steering pump but tbh fuck it, runs good but mpg is shit if i drive like a dickhead
Cowgoesmoo_ 24 the 2006 was the first year of the e90 and it has many imperfections. I wish a I went with the 2007. 20 mpg sounds right. Thank you for checking out my video.
Nour Hummadi got you bro. Quick question, do you know what that thing next to the headlights is for? You could turn it up and down and it has the numbers 0-2 on it. Idk any other way to explain it lol
Dennis Robinson The 2006 330i (gen 1 6HP) and all 335's (gen 2 6HP) have ZF autos which are excellent. The 2006 325i and all 328i's have GM built transmissions.
Xavier Arroyo which one? Car value depends on title and miles. My car on kbb is worth 8k which is usually low ball. I would sell 10k on creilgist. But yea my same car with like 140k miles is 5k. Bmw lose value quick if it has high miles
Nour Hummadi. im actually. thinking of buying this car in. a month from now in cali for 5k im looking for one thats 6k n im hoping to bring it down to 5 k . im paying for an inspection just to make sure . but yes man thanks for vid i will watch out on all these problems
I got you man, also man please give me all the details like miles title and year. Ill let you know if its worth. I have a lot of problems i dont want you to have a 2 thousand dollar fee like i did

For people looking for these: 1. Get a manual. 2. The gas mileage is fantastic for the performance. This guys is just messed up.

John Zappone BMW for life
John Zappone dude same here. I have an 06 325xi with 130xxx on the dash. Not one issue so far except for that stupid weak aux holder.
I am buying a 06 325 I with 150 k it runs good. What do u think I should do?

lucky
Seems like youre better off with a Civic. Cant handle the BMW.
B Rapozo you sound like a douchebag bmw driver
😂😂
I have exact this same car. It is dirt cheap to fix these cars in africa for some reason. To improve gas mileage on bmw:
> Change the two vanos solenoids (car shifts 50 times better and smoother). Chinese sell these vanos for 19 bucks ebay!!
> change the spark plugs and the ignition coils.
> change the six fuel injectors.
> sometimes the car jerks when the mounts are bad, not necessarily the trans.
Even when there are no errors, refresh these parts
thats because the 3 series are manufactured there
Does that actually work? Because gas mileage can be a deal breaker for me
good idea i agree
Damn that shit sound costly in us my guy

*Buys 330i* Complains about mpg
Armin Gips I get it but 13 mpg is trash bro 😂
I get like 15.5 but I mostly drive fast
I get 17mpg and i just take off fast
Bro what do bmw numbers mean like I just call them all “a bmw”😂😭unless it’s an m4 z4 or an e36 I cannot tell the difference
Thanks for the info, my wife wants one of these and your video is helpful.
Justin Martin got you man
I drive a 318i 07 and a full tank lasts 5 weeks of driving. Its the most economical car I owned.
Sarabjit Singh i have a 2008 318i and yes, 316 and 318 are the most economical bmw ever
320i is actually better fuel economy that the 316 or 318. mpg figured are higher for 320i as it doesn't have to work as hard
But 330 is faster so thats a moo point
Transmission doesn't fail, the mechatronics solenoids fail and the seals. Easy fix. I do it all day long. The seal go flat and won't hold pressure during shifts, a $20 fix.

Allen Chilaxin how is it still holding up
?
So the only issues on that series of bimmers is the gas economy?
Cus if that’s the only issue I’m doing to buy one
no rust and solid as ever.

radio screen is dead (cuts in and out)

amoung others lol
At least all those problems will be fixed for free and I only paid 4800 USD for the car.
BOOM HEADSHOT r
How will they be fixed for free?
you get what you pay for.
a cheap e90 will have problems
How do you fix the stereo screen?
Yeah lmk how they’ll be fixed for free.
man just like you said 10000miles then service is not a safe time to do service, i service my car around 5000miles per once ,and service is not simply change oil and filter , it should follow the offical service rule, like you should change transmission fluid every 40000KM ,etc. So that ur car would be more reliable to drive.
When your aux is broke the back of the console snaps off easy and you can reach it there you don't need to remove the whole console
Enjoyed this video. I can relate to u, you make sense . Thoroughly enjoyed!!
The car has 10 years, what do you expect? I have a 2008 318i and its perfect. I know that in US sold american bimmers with a GM transmission, europeans has ZF
How if they all built in Germany
I got a 2006 320i and its the best car by fucking far iv ever had on gas. Absolutely mind bogling and iv had smaller engine cars and still my bmw is by far the best. Its brilliant
This is an Xi -

Right I’m looking at one for $3500. But I just don’t know
definitely making my decision easier with 156k @ $3,000
I just got one last week with 150k miles for $3500. Only issues is a cracked windshield but so far it’s been solid.
How come I've ever had a problem with mine in 10 years??

How is a manual 325xi of this year or gen? I live in NY and with my shit fwd car I cant survive another snow storm so I need an awd car also want to get better at stick so that also would save me any of the trans problems hes getting
This is a great but scary review as a potential buyer. Why in the world does it have a 4.6/5.0 review rating?
Should I buy a bmw?
Anthony Angelette Are you talking the intake or exhaust manifolds? Or do you mean both I was interested in buying either a 328i or 330i e90
You need to check the fuel system needs scanning and resetting should get 30+
If your doing 100 mph like nothing and didn’t check the car when u bought it don’t take care of it that’s what happens lol buy any car won’t take care of it no car will last
So it only matters if the inspection lights come on such as the engine and oil one ,when the car is on and running?
i have a manual... new fly wheel and clutch... and the surrounding issues with the repair itself. it will be fine. just fix it they wont sell to MAX or CARVANA
I hope your car is still going, ditto , i have one too. one after another just waiting for the next repair
thanks for the tips, considering to buy the e90 this year probably year 2008,..Imma see the offers I get.how long have you had the car by the way??
Grayson 04 vlogs I've had it for over 9 months now. I recommend getting a 2009 or new. The lci style. They fixed all major issues by this year. But if you get a good deal like mine under 60k miles than get these.
Any known issues with the manual trans?
Bearsy did you get one?
Ha that’s exactly what I’m doing
?
Same car 99 gets off
am i missing something? not a bmw owner but i feel like 10k miles without changing the oil filter is not great for any car...
Those are bm not like Toyota
Bmw’s are like Hartley Davidson motorcycles, all of us idiots hate them because of reliability, but we keep buying them..........go figure!!
Everybody who watches this video is about to buy a 320i but their seeing the bad things about it..
Is 6000$ for this vehicle with 105,000 miles good deal ???
That jerking is a shift solenoid
You know what I love about these "E90 Common problems" videos? Every video has different 'common problems' -- meaning there aren't any common problems, their just a lot of them. Garbage!
I guess if you don’t really have to get to work in the morning and can have coffee at the dealership get a BMW otherwise just go with Acura or Lexus, I’m sorry but German engineering isn’t what it’s hyped up to be
I think the jerk isnt the car it's the driver
Get an LCI E90 (2009-2011). They're pretty bulletproof.
Adrian LePique I feel yea
Best and honest review ever
Seriously dont get a 2006 e90. The transmission is crap, the waterpump goes out, the thermast will go out, eats coil packs and fuses, fan essembly is crap.. i should know all of it went out for me.
Get a used Lexus LS 400, 430 or 460. The most reliable used luxury car out there and doesn't cost an arm and a leg to repair.
This little boy doesn’t know what he’s talking about
so this is your car? why are you bragging about paying for your own gas?
What’s wrong with ppl got low income
Air condenser needs replacing as well
I’m planning on buying one
Never buy old BMW automatics, manuals only.
why?
@@hectorguerrero6154 They have a bad reputation of failure, mainly because of the "lifetime" fluid that BMW originally claimed. If you service them with high mileage, there is a good chance they will have issues. Early generation SMGs are also considered a huge red flag and should be avoided.
damn bro look how far you came lmao! but i still have my 2006 e90 330Xi at like 72k now and it’s damn near perfect beside my power steering pump but tbh fuck it, runs good but mpg is shit if i drive like a dickhead
How much does it cost to fill it up⛽️
Get a Honda next time
Hahahh 13mpg, im running 22 easily, warranted its a manual though
By the way I even forgot how to use my turning lights.. is it just me 🤔
can you get it from the bmw dealership
So what year of the e90 328i is the less problematic?
Jorge Medina Lafarga tbh just stay away from 335i and 330i. Every other year of every other model are amazingly reliable
wait. this includes 325xi right? that's what im looking at rn
I’m going to look at a 325xi on Saturday , not too many people on TH-cam are mentioning the xi
My 07 328i gives me 19.9-20 mpg on the dash. So idk what the problem is. I live in LA so I do deal with traffic
Cowgoesmoo_ 24 the 2006 was the first year of the e90 and it has many imperfections. I wish a I went with the 2007. 20 mpg sounds right. Thank you for checking out my video.
Nour Hummadi I see, makes sense. No problem, keep up the good work bro
Cowgoesmoo_ 24 thanks man make sure to leave a like and sub new video tomorrow
Nour Hummadi got you bro. Quick question, do you know what that thing next to the headlights is for? You could turn it up and down and it has the numbers 0-2 on it. Idk any other way to explain it lol
ill let you know
385 should have spent the money scanning and repairing car lol nutter lol not on silly steering wheel
Don't nobody on here own an e90 2007 323i.
Can u tell me about any problems u had with it
Love my 06
Damn, just test drove one yesterday to trade my used Hyundai Sonata but nevermind!!! lol
VW with 2.5l engine if you want reliable German
i have 2006 330xi and i get 24mpg
lucky lol
got 25 on mine
maybe just buy a standard like any bmw owner shoukd
You'll put so much money in any car you drive irresponsibly
Mine had none of those probs
Transmission failure? Get a manual! It's better anyways.
SomeTenth I wish I did
good video = )
but in our bmw 320d luxaryline 2016 one does't make any issues
RAwAT jr it's still new
GM built the automatic transmission for the E90 model. That's why yours is shit now. Really should invest in a manual transmission.
Dennis Robinson The 2006 330i (gen 1 6HP) and all 335's (gen 2 6HP) have ZF autos which are excellent. The 2006 325i and all 328i's have GM built transmissions.
Dennis Robinson -GM is head and shoulders above BMW’s crappy quality.
I got a manual 🤘
Fuck that dude I’ll buy a 2011 e90 they can’t mess up the last gen e90 lol hopefully....
Gear box service thats all lol
Did you call BMW Customer service, they have a Goodwill program that can help you out, especially if you brought the car from a Dealer.
How much did you buy the car for ?
ummmmm way overprice??? lmfao they're at like 6k where i live and they're in good condition
Lmfao hell yea u payed way too much
Dumbass 14k hahahahaha holy shit not even 335i overpaid by at least 5k minimum
well where can you get the centre console
Dan Singh I got it off of criegs but you can get it from ebay
I get 20mpg!!!
Def ur car my car is the same as urs i get 40mpg
Moral of the story drive a manual
car is worth 5k on Craigslist
I have a lot of problems i dont want you to have a 2 thousand dollar fee like i did
will definitely look into a 2009 i still havent got the car any week now
Angel Angelov yup 2009 is the way the go
I got the auxiliary port broke and need replacing and rewiring for my e90
Dan Singh I ended up replacing the center arm rest so it worked out
