I have an e92 330i N52B30, 272 hp and have had it for 10 years now, crossed 200.000 km last year and it's still just amazing to drive and I enjoy every single cold start when that performance exhaust fires in my garage. This is one of the rarest engines in the e9x chassis... they only made them for a year before switching to the N53. It's been my dream car since I saw it first in 2006 and I am probably going to keep it forever.
Hello I'm looking at a N52 to purchase aswell which of the engines are most reliable from the N52? I'm based in Hong Kong so I think we don't have some models
I have owned a 2009 330i LCI sedan for 13 years and in this time I have had to replace: cylinder head cover and oil pan gaskets due to oil leaks 6 ignition coils, 12 ignition plugs, 9 fuel injectors, 1 NOx sensor due to engine misbehaving during idle or acceleration 2 new springs at front, all 4 shock absorbers due to one spring at front breaking 1 new battery due to original battery losing power. Original battery lasted from 2009 to 2024. Changing all 6 injectors cost 4100 euros. 1 NOx sensor cost 670 euros.
E91 LCI N52 in USA with 205k miles all original drivetrain with a complete M3 control arms swap with eibach Pro springs/MSport Sach struts n Shocks. Normal Oil Changes, wheel bearings, tie rod...normal wear n tear. Still going super strong! Now looking into a LSD upgrade while I wait for a reason for an N54 swap... but doesnt look like it will be anytime soon!
Great review , im driving an Audi a4 2007 S line 2.0 tdi with 170hp 125kw version , i like the speed of the audi , but the looks of bmw are way better , i also own a 320d n47 2007 too , but im looking to get a 330i like this one but im kinda bit worried about the fuel consumption since i do a lot of urban driving i dont want that to eat my earnings lol
@TheMikrostaR - thanks. The N47 was the engine with timing chain issues so I would get rid of it and buy a 330i. I use mine a lot for urban driving and the MPG really is not bad for a 3.0L engine. We are talking around 26 - 31MPG, perhaps a little more if you are a very gentle and economic driver. It's a great car, and every time I think of selling, I remember that I may never experience the N52 again if it is gone!
The fuel economy in the city is high 20's/low 30's, but it can drop if you are doing lots of stop/start driving in traffic. If you drive quickly and flick into drive sport mode, then MPG drops to around 24 mpg. On the highway (or motorway in UK), you are looking at mid to high 30's. I have also seen 40mpg with some consistent slow speed driving. On average I would say for combined driving you are looking at 32 - 33 mpg.
I have an 06 330i N52 B30 with 70k miles on it. Always garaged and serviced by the dealer.. Purrs like a kitten... The only code is the battery in the alarm level sensor is dead.. This car will live on another 20 years into Classic car territory..
I completely agree. They were exceptionally well made and have already stood the test of time. I hope to keep hold of mine too so that it becomes something special in the sea of electric cars (white goods?) that everybody else seems to be driving these days.
I have a 08 125i coupe (3L N52), it's been the most unreliable BMW I've ever owned (out of E46, E39 & E82). When it's running right, it's a terrific car for both daily duties and a blast on backroads.
Sorry to hear that. The feel of a hydraulic is much better than electric. I have cars with both types at present and prefer the hydraulic steering the most.

E90 with an N52... Uber underrated car.
Great video 🙏
Best of the best bmw ever made...have one 330i e90 alpine weiss 2005 with 90k miles in it, love drive it daily too!!
Thanks for the comment Roberto! They actually look very nice in Alpine weiss even if it might be a bit of a job to keep it looking clean!

Is N52 engines up to 2013? It says on the wiki
Great car, I have an 06 330i 6MT with 204,000 miles.
204000 miles is a great milestone. Further proof of how great this big old engine is, and how great the e90 chassis was.

Thanks for the informative video. What's the fuel economy in city and highway when you drive normally?

It is to my knowledge the only straight 6 naturally aspirated with variable valve lift
I have a june 05 build 330i it's a terrific daily.
Completely agree - they make the perfect daily.
How is fuel economy for you?
@@lawrencem8022 my car is overcooling as a result avg fuel is 10.3 l/100km. Normally you can get around 600km to a full tank mixed driving conditions.

I have never driven a 330d so will let somebody more knowledgeable comment on this.

2008? 3.0 in a 125i? I think what you have its an N53 engine, wich is an other story...

Love that hydraulic power steering, my power steering pump failed and steering wheel locked and I had an accident. Never again. Electric is superior
