I would just love to pit a ZEXAL anime character vs an ARC-V character Why? because given how the ZEXAL players managed to go to VERY BIG AND VERY HIGH ATK VALUE, would make arc-v's "my monster is not destroyed but i still take the damage" absolutely worthless

The closest we get to something like this is during the first Yusei VS Akiza duel. After Akiza lowers "Junk Warrior's" ATK to 0 with "Black Rose Dragon's" second effect (Rose Restriction) and attacks, Yusei banishes "Shield Warrior" from his GY to prevent "Junk Warrior's" destruction from battle. Cue Akiza saying a variation of the "But you'll still take the damage!" meme, and then cue Yusei subverting it by activating "Spirit Force" to reduce the battle damage to 0.
They should make taking damage automatic. Unless they specifically state battle damage is reduced to 0, we _know_ they still take damage from attacks that doesn’t destroy a target.
There's a good reaason for that. While he lost the duel, he was not truly defeated because his most important monster survived. Kind of like what happened with Sparrow in Zexal. It's like how every boss is defeated by destroying their boss monster to signify that they were truly defeated for good.
I just love how Arc V ended with “You still take the damage” as if the writers acknowledged the meme (they must likely probably didn’t, but it’s funny)

There's alot of anti destruction trap, action magic that prevent your monster from getting destroyed. Plus alot of bosses in Arc V has battle protection so often time they beat over them with high attack (especially odd eyes pendulum).
@@mister0725 I mixed up your question with someone else, my bad. Here is something of an explanation. Ukeru is the "raw" form of a verb. Specifically, the verb "Accept" or " Take". Ukete is a more Imperative form. Uketemorau is... well, by my very limited Japanese, it seems they use it as some forms of continuous verb, so instead of "(You) take the damage" from Ukete and Ukeru, it's more like "You'll still be taking the damage" Or at least that's what it seems to be, but I'm not 100% sure.
@@mister0725 Yeah, that's the formality stuff. Ukete by itself is kind of aggressive, but uketeimas is formal, while uketeshinasai is VERY aggressive, and mostly used by females.
1 hp is still mean you alive. everything is weak to dmg but not enough dmg mean is still alive and i can do dmg back to you... and you also weak to dmg. so TLDR: "you still take the dmg" is a copium verison of "oh shit he didn't die"

A couple of times, actually. Notably, The Final Duel of sevens came down to an effect attempting to reverse battle damage.

Why is this concept so common in Arc 5?
