11:40 I applaud your video and especially that point. Many of us want it simple to setup/tear down easily for when we camp, or for when we need to actually do truck things and haul stuff. Great video!
Nice build, I like that it's quick to install/uninstall. However, if your GMC is like mine you could have utilized the indents already molded into the bed for the cross slats, and then ran a single 2x8 stringer down the middle for support. Then you can use those long plastic bins on each side of the stringer, instead of the sled, to save a lot of weight! Also, I noticed the 4x sheet doesn't cover the slats edge to edge so you have those little "nubs" sticking out. They look like knee bangers. Don't you feel those through the mattress if you are sleeping on the edge??
Appreciate that and glad you've been enjoying them. I have used them on my planter builds. They work great for them. Actually designing a planter for a video right now where I will be using them. Thanks for sharing
I looked at a A LOT of videos and went with your plan/build. I needed it to be easy in/easy out, simple and not expensive. Thanks for posting and providing a super-cheap, yet strong and practical build.

Thank You for sharing, you got a new follower!! i have a 2 year old and i think shes ready to travel with us
Awesome! Traveling with the little ones is the best!
I like your idea. I plan to make one like it but i am planning on using the folding tables as a top rather than plywood. Two of them just fit
Great idea!
I would also like to know why you didn’t go all the way side to side. Seems like you could fit a bigger mattress. Am I wrong?
I’m going to make your design. I ordered a queen size 8” thick memory foam mattress to put on it.
Should work perfect!
I:m still trying to find a camper shell for my 2013 GMC...
😀.. and to store it somewhere for the rest of the year.
😅
Been enjoying all your builds.Have you ever used the Power Pro screws sold at Lowe’s?No pilot holes required using soft wood.
Appreciate that and glad you've been enjoying them. I have used them on my planter builds. They work great for them. Actually designing a planter for a video right now where I will be using them. Thanks for sharing
Place those conveyor belt roller dots from Harbour freight
That's a good idea! So many good things at harbor freight. Thanks for sharing.
Nice. What can you add to help pets from falling through the sides?
Hi. I would cut the plywood a bit more precisely in a situation like that. Or go the simple lazy route and stuff some blankets in the gaps. Lol
May I ask why you didn’t go edge to edge width wise with the plywood? Could you potentially fit a wider sleeping pad if you had?
Hi Wondering do you open a partnership:)
Nice setup! Some really good tips for me, thanks for sharing sir
Glad you got some tips from it. Thanks for the comment!
Genuinely exactly what I am doing now simple and effective
