If I would hv been ur student in 11 & 12th, I may have topped in my school. Thank you for free Education, because many of them can't even afford it. . . . . & I m 1 of them.

    Mam but H2O2 belongs to C2 point group. It doesn't have horizontal plane of symmetry.

    Mam, H2O2 will has open book structure with dihedral angle of around 110 degrees. So all 4 atoms do not lie in the same plane, thus there is no horizontal POS. So, it is C2 and not C2h. Please rectify me if I’m wrong.

    ma'am while explaining NH3 point group, you have drawn the cartesian system incorrect( x,y,z axis). x,y,z axis should be such that cross product of x,y should give z , cross product of y,z should give x and cross product of z,x should give y.......btw your lecture videos help a lot

    The examples of cnh and cn are exchanged. H3BO3 belongs to cnh and H2O2 belongs to cn.

    Axis C2 hoga yeh 180 degree rotation ke wajah se voh toh samjh gaya but ma'am aap ke trick ke according toh 2 o and 2 h atoms ke position change horahi h then uske hisab se C4 hona chahiye na?

      C4 nhi hoga, because agar 90 degree rotate karenge toh sab atoms ki position change ho jaegi.

    mam one correction , h2o2 ka point group C2 hai ............ it can't be Cnh, because it is a non planner structure it should not contain any plane.

      Yes that is open book structure so the point group of H2O2 is C2..... No pos is present

      But AOS C3Z hai aur sigma h k liye principle axis k perpendicular hona chye POS, C3Z k perpendicular mein sigmaXY hoga but vo possible nahi hai iss case mein

    Ma'am H2O2 is not a planar molecule so it does not contain sigma'h' plane of symmetry hence it belongs to C2 point group and H3BO3 is planar and so it does have sigma'h' hence it belongs to C3h point group

    Mam Actually H3PO3 has a vertical pos so it must be having c3v point group if I am not wrong.

      Google the 3D structure of H3PO4, you'll get to know it can't have POS
