I'm not sure what the YT regulations are, considering you're in the UK but with a largely US audience. I can only speak for the US (I imagine the UK is stricter) but I would be careful about the health claims made regarding food/supplements. The type of language used during the ad segment immediately spiked some warning bells for me (I'm no longer a practicing dietitian, but still have a degree in Clinical Nutrition). There's a reason that when I googled for a dietitian also advertising this product, the language had a lot more qualifiers and talked about suggested correlations between the ingredients and certain health outcomes as opposed to direct causation claims. The FDA has more regulations and required rigorous testing on medicine and fewer on food (anything categorized as drugs is assumed to be harmful until proven otherwise, while things categorized as food are assumed to be benign until proven otherwise), but when health claims are made that's when things get much more regulated.
I feel like in order for it to be a true mood reading vlog you cannot create a list at the beginning, it’s gotta be just choosing one book and then grabbing the next in the moment.. and we fully support dnf’ing books while mood reading
I love making a list before I mood read, it's a "List of Vibes" and if at some point I don't want to read those books I will just go ahead and chose another one 😂
I guess you can do it however fits for you - I'll regularly have a list of 5-10 books I'm most interested in for my next read and I'll pick from that but that list isn't necessarily a set and forget list, it also changes a lot between books. In my eyes, there's no "rules" for being a mood reader apart from reading what you feel like in the moment.
I need a small pile of possibilities for my mood reading to avoid getting overwhelmed by decision anxiety when standing in front of my book cases. Her way of mood reading is pretty much the way I role 🤷🏼♀️
US follower here, Ann Boleyn is mostly common knowledge. Most know she was the wife of king Henry the VIII, that he divorced Cathrine for her, and that she was beheaded. However, I don’t think most know much else about her. Just my observation from Florida though :)
I’m in the Midwest and I agree - but I will add that the musical Six is the first time I really knew who the other wives were besides Catherine of Aragon and Anne Boleyn
Yeah New Yorker here and we learned it in school, but she was also very popularized through movies like “the other Boleyn girl” so i knew more from that. (didn’t pay attention in history class all the time lol)
Lol I love that you decided to make a kind of tbr for your mood reading video 😂😂 as a mood reader if I put a book on a TBR it’s like a guarantee that I’m not gonna read it 😂
I think a happy medium could be a reading vlog where you have more control over what books you read. Something like “reading until I find a 5 star” or “replacing my screen time with reading” - stuff like that. That said I love your themed reading vlogs anyway 🤭 but hopefully this fall will have more successful reads!
I live in Argentina and Anne Boleyn is pretty much common knowledge (at least it has always been for me). One of the greatest composers of Argentinian traditional music wrote a song called 'Corazón Verdugo', which would be translated as 'Executioner Heart' was actually inspired by her! 😊
As a Canadian, I know Anne Boleyn, Catherine of Aragon, and Jane Seymour, but when you said Amber Lynn I thought it was a character in that series. ETA: HAAAA I JUST REALIZED 🤣🤣🤣
Getting caught up on videos and I am here to say that I am here for your Buffy thoughts!! Finally finished it earlier this year, and I agree, 1-3 beautiful. Season 4 takes some time to figure itself out.
Ultimately I'm just happy when you enjoy reading, whatever the source idea the book comes from 😊 I do have the lady hardcastle series on my wishlist because of you, no idea when I actually get to it 😁
I skip b role if it's just montages tbh but if it's like life updates or chatting about something unrelated to what is being read I'll definitely watch it and love it tho
Glad you found, well, picked big winners mostly. Happy for you! A few days ago I downloaded an audiobook of one of your 5 star Lady Hardcastles, "In the Market for Murder". Will let you know what I think after listening. But I totally understand how you don't want to mood read all the time, and I too truly love all your fun, creative ideas for finding reads. You do come up with great, surprising concepts, so I'm glad those will continue. Thanks again for your outstanding reality tv snippets -- so funny. 😊
I'm so glad you were able to find some wins with mood reading! That's really what it's all about. The themed vlogs are fun, but it's more fun to see you love reading! (PS. I just dove into learning about Anne Bolynn because of a book I was reading, and while I knew she was famously beheaded I didn't know much else. Now I know and I am also completely obsessed with her!!)
I am here for the Buffy thoughts!!! :D A lot of those shows though had multiple writers all through the series so the writing can be very up and down, whilst the pacing and "feel" of an episode is more down to the director and producer on the shoot. I guess that's how it can feel so different! But yeah I agree Season 4 was always a struggle season :D
Late to this video. Always love the book reviews, but can’t get over the sims reference. Cottage living is definitely one of the best packs ever. My whole personality is books and sims so love the shout out 😊
i feel like in english class we talked about Henry VIII and his wives, but like my first experience with the Tudors is from a middle grade book series called the Royal Diaries. i had almost all of the books and Elizabeth I was one of my favorites and it started my obsession with the Tudors.
Queen B sounds great! I am American and I also was obsessed with Anne Boleyn as a kid. I think my introduction to her was not through school, but I read a Royal Diaries book that was supposed to be Elizabeth I’s diary! Definitely putting this one on my TBR
loooved this vlog!! so happy your read books u already had and enjoyed them =) i loved the once a month sunday-mood-reading vlog idea (read whatever you want) !! =D more of thissss plz
You should do a vlog of reading authors youve loved before, nit the most original concept ( you might have done it already) but you did that this week and seemed to really enjoy it
Oh man! Lady Hardcastle is *just* the very same for me -- I love them and they are so quick and easy. They are what a reach for when everything else has gone to hell. Lady Hardcastle is always there for me and that makes me love them even more! ❤
I have no idea how this would work, but you should do a vlog based on Anne Boleyn!! Or maybe something like a book based on the vibes of each of the six wives?
I'm Canadian and didnt know anythong about Ann Boleyn before I visited London, Hampton court and the London Tower. One other famous character that I didnt know about til recently is Guy Fawkes and I'd totally be down to read a fiction inspired story about him. As a true mood reader i cant even fathom doing any other way
Not this being the video where i learn t e kinsey is a man like i literally just read #5 im deep in the lady hardcastle universe and this shook me to my core
How about a quarterly/seasonal TBR where you read a book that takes place in each month in that season. So for fall you read a book that takes place in Sept, another for Oct, and another for Nov? Could help get in the mood to read during each season
I was obsessed with Ann Bolenn when I was a kid and I'm from Brazil! of course she was a it girl must, she was the ultimate badass: making a king drop CHURCH for her, what an Icon
I have a stack of books on my nightstand, of books i want to get to soon/might wanna read next, and its not precise. I see book, i might read xD thats it for me.
I am in America and know quite a bit about Anne Boelyn but I loved the movie Anne of a Thousand Days (which we watched in school) so read more about her.
I’m from the US and I feel like most people know of Henry VIII and his wives. I’m also a former history teacher, and I always taught a lesson on Henry VIII and his wives, but mainly in the context of the creation of the Church of England. I could also have a biased perspective because my degree is in history and I spent a lot of time watching historical documentaries growing up 😂
I’ve been in such a reading rut too. I’ve not read much for months now and I love this time of year for reading especially so I’m trying to get back to it. I’m just struggling with what to read
US- relatively common especially if your a musical person with SIX the musical. We also get the rhyme- Divorced, Beheaded, Died, Divorced, Beheaded, Survived
I’m American and have always been very interested in the Tudors and Anne Boleyn especially. I’m also another fellow Lady Hardcastle lover, currently relistening to the series as I fall asleep at night and always look forward to bedtime now. Totally agree with you on the ending of The Box in the Woods, didn’t like it at all and felt contrived. And also that David can get gone lol. I didn’t like the next one that much either compared to original trilogy.
I read Box In The Woods and Nine Liars this spring, and BITW was my favorite of the series. I really liked the atmosphere. But Nine Liars was bad in my opinion. I was very intrigued by the British locations, but the mystery was meeh... Also, there was so much David...
i feel like in brazil, anne boleyn is pretty common knowledge. i learned about henry the viii, his wives and the english reformation in school, in 6th or 7th grade i believe. can’t speak for everyone’s experience though.
i've not read the box in the woods yet, but i have read the initial trilogy and tbh i felt that the resolution of that was also not really fair play. for me, it was pretty out of nowhere even though we had met them
US person: SIX the musical has been playing at a theatre near me on and off over the last couple years! And Anne Boleyn is easily the most well-known of his wives. Also it’s so funny watching very organized BookTubers try to be mood readers and struggle! I’m a mood reader because I have untreated ADHD and I have to want to read a book right at that moment and get stuck into it quickly in order for it to happen. I can’t even plan one book ahead because chances are high that by the time I finish the one I’m on I will no longer be in the mood for the next 🙃 I think planning out a TBR and making myself stick to it would make me feel like I was doing homework assigned by a past version of myself.
I have already gotten way back into dark academia, even though it was still 33 degrees here til last week. The last few weeks I am already way back into gothic/dark academia/vampires books and having a BLAST. Judging by BooksandLalas recent videos, Henvry VIII history is unknown across the pond 🤣 The only B-Roll I enjoy is animals so if you got no B-roll, it's a-okay! 24:20 Not forever but now and again. Once a season. Once a year. When you get too many meh books 🤣
So glad you finally got some good ones! To answer your questions, I hate B-Roll lol. I usually skip through it unless it’s particularly scenic. I’m curious how other people feel about it though. Also! American here. Before listening/watching the musical Six, I vaguely knew Anne Boleyn was a scandalous woman related to British politics. That was about it 😂. Though my best friend, who introduced me to Six, was obsessed with her as well, so there definitely are Americans who know about her
I didn’t love Box In The Woods but I think I liked Nine Liars, I’m interested to read book 6 if it is definitely a 6 book series 😊 I’ve just read Murder at Morning House by the same author and I enjoyed that one too, and also the nonfiction comedy book she wrote 😊
Lady Hardcastle reminds me of Midsomer Murders TV series, which I absolutely love! Well, except it's an older detective not a woman. But it sounds like I need to start reading this series!
Australian here. I absolutely know who Anne Boleyn is. But I do have a big interest in history and read books about that era. I imagine most younger Australians (I’m 34) wouldn’t know who she is to be honest.
From the US and honestly History was my least favorite subject in school. Too many facts and dates to memorize. I like documentaries about specific events/people and can get really engrossed when at historic places. Not classrooms. That being said, yes I knew about Anne Boleyn and her tragic end. Didn’t remember a lot of other context as other commenters, but know generally about Henry VIII and his wives. Also, as a fellow Buffy lover, I ABSOLUTELY care about your Buffy opinions! Also, I won’t pile on and say you should mood read more, but I’m just happy to see you truly enjoying the books and reading experience. It made me a bit sad when you’ve recently wondered if you still like reading so just seeing your smile makes me happy. I LIVE for creative vlog and video ideas, but I just hoped you would find a way to reset your reading. I personally fell out of love with reading for years and had the longest slump ever but about 3 months ago I came back to it and have been devouring books!
Us person here - we didn’t learn a ton in high school about it, but UK/English history was one of my weird obsessions growing up so I probably knew way more than the average American 🤷🏻♀️ I also took a number of college classes on the subjects. I literally picked London for my honeymoon way back when when I got married because of my UK history obsession 😂😂😂
I live in the US and yes, I know about Anne Boleyn and the rest of Henry the Eighth's wives. I've known about them probably since I was 11 and I'm now 38. I've also been very interested in World History my entire life. I also never went to a summer camp where I was gone for weeks and weeks and weeks. It was mostly a week or a weekend. My summers were filled with being at friends' and lots of swimmers.
I don’t think Henry the eighth’s wives are super common knowledge in the US. I knew about Anne Boleyn but none of the others until Six the musical came out 😂😂
i'm fucking a nerd in the us and i had a huge henry viii's wives wives - especially anne boleyn. (i loved the green dress) i used to read those historical fictional novels based on elizabeth i and her diary. also freaking love war of the roses.
As an American we have basic knowledge of Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn. I am not a huge B Roll person. A little is fine, but it doesn’t make it break a video for me.
Hi, I love all your videos and the Lady Hardcastle books. Did you know there is a spinoff. The first book is kind of weak but the second one is great. And by the way, you are one of the one responsible for how low my bank account is. You are my twin reader.
This US girlie wants you to know we only get 9 weeks off in the summer now (teacher). I don’t know it’s it’s truly shorter than when I was a child but it certainly FELT longer then!
A problem I have with mysteries is the ending can completely make or break the book for me! I could love the whole thing, but if then the resolution to the mystery is bad, I just feel like what was the bloody point of all of that?? I love mysteries but it really feels like a gamble sometimes!!
Honestly, as an American, I probably know more about Ann Boleyn than most of our presidents. We get a few anecdotes about a few stand out ones in school, but that's about it. (Theodore Roosevelt, is Rough Riders/San Juan Hill and Teddy Bears. Couldn't tell you a thing about what he did in office.)
I feel like the musical Six really helped world wide knowledge of Henry VIII’s wives. My grandmother was a historian and I grew up knowing the rhyme, but I recognize that’s not the norm.

I was curious about this but... £80 for a month's worth (with the discount) shipped to the UK.... my goodness, who can afford this kinda stuff? :(
Okay but hear me out, a tbr inspired by the Sims..... Like one book per pack that captures the theme.....
👀👀👀
I feel like in order for it to be a true mood reading vlog you cannot create a list at the beginning, it’s gotta be just choosing one book and then grabbing the next in the moment.. and we fully support dnf’ing books while mood reading
Even for me that's too unorganised 🤣

I feel like one mood reading Vlog per quarter/season would be perfect 🤞
tbh yeah, and it's super cool to see what you're vibing to read at the moment

Yup, in Texas, and that's what I know, nothing of her history.
Also from Florida and totally agree
Agreed. I'm from RI and feel this is common knowledge. We do quite a bit of English history in the US.
I feel like the six wives of henry viii is kind of england's most famous history funfact throughout the world tbh
I love that this mood reading was a good reset for you. But I am very excited for your coming themed vlogs because I enjoy them as well as this.
I spent August just making my way through series after series and ticking them off my spreadsheet 😂
Lol I love that you decided to make a kind of tbr for your mood reading video 😂😂 as a mood reader if I put a book on a TBR it’s like a guarantee that I’m not gonna read it 😂

i just finished the 5th lady Hardcastle book and I I'm loving the series! I'm so glad i picked them up because of you.
That makes me even more excited to pick these up!
@@cat.book.nook. omg please do
I skip b role if it's just montages tbh but if it's like life updates or chatting about something unrelated to what is being read I'll definitely watch it and love it tho

Queen B sounds so fun!!
Omg, that Magic Mind drinking montage is so good!
This vlog was super interesting !! Its so cool to see you just picking up the books you really wanna read in the moment :)
There are apparently going to be SEVEN books in this series, I am so ready 😊
Have you read any agatha raisin? Love her! Cozy crime before cozy crime was a thing 😂🎉❤
Australian here, I had no idea who Ann Boleyn was 🤷🏼♀️
Same girl
I think of all British History the Tudor period of time is the most common knowledge of any other British period, maybe followed by the Victorian era!
I have series like that too, specifically the Haunting Danielle series. It’s like coming home!
I didn’t learn about the tudors in school but I did know about them. No clue why. I am now obsessed with six the musical which has helped.
Queen B sounds great! I am American and I also was obsessed with Anne Boleyn as a kid. I think my introduction to her was not through school, but I read a Royal Diaries book that was supposed to be Elizabeth I’s diary! Definitely putting this one on my TBR
me placing my library hold for queen b after seeing u love it AND bc i just finished HMRC today
my school didn't cover kings like that but I had my historical fiction dive and went hard into all the wives
loooved this vlog!! so happy your read books u already had and enjoyed them =) i loved the once a month sunday-mood-reading vlog idea (read whatever you want) !! =D more of thissss plz

Kitty b-roll is alway appreciated!!
The Whimbrel House series by Charlie Holmberg is my Lady Hardcastle series, and I LOVE watching you talk about it. ❤
Being from Germany I was quite glad that you explained who Anne Boleyn was 😅
I felt exactly the same about the ending of The Box In The Woods! It made me so mad 😂
I'm Canadian and didnt know anythong about Ann Boleyn before I visited London, Hampton court and the London Tower. One other famous character that I didnt know about til recently is Guy Fawkes and I'd totally be down to read a fiction inspired story about him.
As a true mood reader i cant even fathom doing any other way
Great work team!! 🥰
Teddy bears are the ultimate legacy 🧸
I think it’s common knowledge but I too am obsessed with Anne sooooo 🤣
Growing up in Finland they loved airing British history documentaries on TV, so I'd say there are quite a few people who know about the Tudors
Not this being the video where i learn t e kinsey is a man like i literally just read #5 im deep in the lady hardcastle universe and this shook me to my core
I love the b-roll of your cats

I was obsessed with Anne Boleyn when I was a pre-teen. I’m from the US, and I’d say most know who she is but don’t have an in depth knowledge of her.
I was obsessed with Ann Bolenn when I was a kid and I'm from Brazil! of course she was a it girl must, she was the ultimate badass: making a king drop CHURCH for her, what an Icon

The best part of Box in the Woods is Nate.
I’ve been in such a reading rut too. I’ve not read much for months now and I love this time of year for reading especially so I’m trying to get back to it. I’m just struggling with what to read
I liked the Box in the Woods and didn't mind the ending, but I'm not a mystery girlie, I just read the series for characters lol
I listened to the Lady Hardcastle mystery and it's great ❤ I have a problem with following the characters though, maybe because I'm not english
I finished in defence of witches yesterday
US- relatively common especially if your a musical person with SIX the musical.

I have no clue how to NOT mood read, if I have a tbr list for the month or a page goal, I get super anxious, so I don't do it for my own well-being
I'm trying to find the Lady Hardcastle books. Our library has some of them but they are in a different language. Uhg!😊
I love your navy and orange jumper 😍 where did you this beauty ❤
I read Box in the Woods THIS YEAR and I do not remember the ending… lmao. I gave it 3 stars but loved the original 3 books
I've only recently committed who Anne Boleyn is to memory, thanks to Six the Musical.
I saw The Other Boleyn girl movie… idk how historically accurate it was lol
i feel like in brazil, anne boleyn is pretty common knowledge. i learned about henry the viii, his wives and the english reformation in school, in 6th or 7th grade i believe. can’t speak for everyone’s experience though.
Love you channel we read a lot of the same genre books and your love for drag race too
i've not read the box in the woods yet, but i have read the initial trilogy and tbh i felt that the resolution of that was also not really fair play. for me, it was pretty out of nowhere even though we had met them

I didn’t know who Anne Boleyn was. My schools taught mostly US history. I thought you were saying Amber Lynn for the longest time 🤣
I don’t think Henry the eighth’s wives are super common knowledge in the US. I knew about Anne Boleyn but none of the others until Six the musical came out 😂😂
Personally not into b-roll! Also you always get me interested in lady hardcastle. I’m a big speedwell fan so maybe I’ll try!
I think you should try Angela Slatter's short stories. Full of magic and witches!!
i'm fucking a nerd in the us and i had a huge henry viii's wives wives - especially anne boleyn.
27:59 David is very Logan (Gilmore Girls) coded
I have just finished a fire at the exhibition by T E Kinsey
A problem I have with mysteries is the ending can completely make or break the book for me! I could love the whole thing, but if then the resolution to the mystery is bad, I just feel like what was the bloody point of all of that?? I love mysteries but it really feels like a gamble sometimes!!
Follower from Poland here - Anne Boleyn is common knowledge here :D
Honestly, as an American, I probably know more about Ann Boleyn than most of our presidents.
We get a few anecdotes about a few stand out ones in school, but that's about it. (Theodore Roosevelt, is Rough Riders/San Juan Hill and Teddy Bears. Couldn't tell you a thing about what he did in office.)
I feel like the musical Six really helped world wide knowledge of Henry VIII’s wives. My grandmother was a historian and I grew up knowing the rhyme, but I recognize that’s not the norm.
