I highly recommend The Woman They Could Not Silence by Kate Moore. It’s an incredible true story of a woman whose husband had her committed to an insane asylum and her fight to prove her sanity. After reading that and The Radium Girls, I will read any nonfiction that Kate Moore writes. I love the way she wrote them and the care you can feel that she has for the stories she is telling.
omg yes when you said "i'm just going to enjoy this" feel like I also had to do that lately. I put so much pressure on whether or not I'm going to like a book especially if it's hyped or a five star prediction, or especially when someone recommended it to me personally. But letting go of that has helped me read (or even dnf) so many books lately and it's so freeing!
the self-contained fun adventure both adults and kids can read is what I really love about the Artemis Fowl series. Each book is just a fun romp with heart.
Emily, I'm sorry you feeling unwell at the moment, I can sympathise with you as I suffer from chronic pain and fatigue and understand how exhausted you must be feeling at times. You never need to apologise regarding your health, it should always come first along with your family. I love catching up with your videos to see how you're getting on with physical tbr. Sending best wishes and gentle hugs and I hope you get some answers regarding your iron levels. X
Yay, I have "The Radium Girls" -- it's now moved up many rungs on my tbr ladder. Thanks! Now that wrapped up retro is over....for the year? ...what happens to all those wrapped books? 😊
I dont know that you'll even see this, but with the Pages & Co series, the first three are the main series and then the other three are sort of companion novels
idk if it’s related to the book at all, but if you want further reading/media about radium girls, you should look into the play of the same name! it’s really commonly done as a high school one act here in the states, and i’ve a few versions of it, so your description of the premise brought back memories of that LOL
Yayy a five star!!!🎉 although if it makes you feel better about what you were saying at the end, apparently that popular statistic men being more likely to leave their sick wives is a myth- apparently it was retracted a few months after being published because the data had been incorrectly accounted for
I loved Radium Girls, but the book club I read it with was disappointed that it didn't read like a Kristin Hannah novel 🥲 Kate Moore also wrote a book about a woman who got sent to a mental institution that I want to read (The Woman They Could Not Silence)
Pretty sure Bury Your Gays is supposed to be based off how some people feel about how the TV show Supernatural ended. A lot of shippers got reallllllly salty their pretend ship didn't become canon and have been shouting into the void about it ever since.
Ive never seen anyone this obsessed with star ratings. Like, i get it, but also it isnt that important babe (this isnt just abt this particular video, ive been watching her for a long time)
Don't we all want every book to be a 5 star? That means we totally enjoy it or the reading experience. Why wouldn't we want that? Just curious! I wish everyone was!!
@@camfan54lisa sure, but she gets so frustrated when shes a little bit into a book and its not immediately a 5 star. Not all books are gonna be a 5 star but that doesnt mean you cant enjoy them. She puts so much preassure on finding a 5 star that the disappointment on a book not being a 5 star prevents her to enjoy the book. Again, i shouldve made this comment under a video that wasnt abt finding a 5 star, but ive been watching her for years idk thats what ive gathered. Not a critique, just an observation, everyone goes abt ratings and feelings abt books differently and this is her way, and thats fine. I just feel if she stopped putting so much preassure on every book she picks up being 5 stars shed enjoy the reading experience more and wouldnt be so disappointed afterwards
Harry Potter is the best but I also have enjoyed Matilda read that this year maybe you might prefer middle grade spooky or more emotional reads or mystery like you said maybe fantasy middle grade isn’t for you
I want you to keep picking books until the ALL of them have been read. And see how many turned out to be 5 stars. I love watching these videos.
Happy you find a 5 star but at the same time I wanted to see you unwrap more books 😂
mood 😂
My great grandma was one of the radium girls❤️ the factory where they did this was 20 minutes from my hometown
Ok but when you said “2018 was 6 years ago” I felt personally attacked because it’s not, it’s only 2 years ago what do you mean!?
Maybe you could do a big unhaul at the end of the year and get rid of the oldest books that you don’t want
I highly recommend The Woman They Could Not Silence by Kate Moore. It’s an incredible true story of a woman whose husband had her committed to an insane asylum and her fight to prove her sanity.

Yay!! I looooove the radium girls I’m so glad you enjoyed it!
YES I LOVE LOVE LOVE THE RADIUM GIRLS! It’s one of my top nonfiction of all time for me
I'm 99% sure I sent you The Radium Girls (and bought a copy for me at the same time) - so glad it was a hit! Encouraged me to finally pick it up!
Watching you unwrap books is somehow so satisfying 😳
Been waiting for you to read radium girls since like 2021 I think 😂 yaaay!
Radium Girls was a 5* for me to. The book was educational, interesting, heartbreaking, inspiring. So good!
Women non-fiction is one of my favourite genres. I'd love a video focused on this topic!

When I have kids they won’t be allowed to go to or have sleepovers. I’m happy to be a strict parent in that sense to protect them the way I wasn’t.
Hugs my love
I love Lore Olympus ❤
Yay, I have "The Radium Girls" -- it's now moved up many rungs on my tbr ladder. Thanks! Now that wrapped up retro is over....for the year? ...what happens to all those wrapped books? 😊
I kinda want to wrap my TBR now lol
OMG you are going to love Mooncakes. I’ve read it 5 or 6 times, maybe more.
My mum is English but my Dad is American so I've always said "eenie meenie miney mo" and "ip dip do" just unlocked the crazy memory for me😂😂😂
I dont know that you'll even see this, but with the Pages & Co series, the first three are the main series and then the other three are sort of companion novels
The Radium Girls and The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks are my top non fiction books, I still need to get to The Five.
This is my favorite series omg
I highly recommend commend watching the film of the Radium Girls.
Moon cakes is so good. I read it during the autumn time a couple years ago.
I love this series

Oooh i just read pages & co 2 and i really enjoyed it, but like I love love love middlegrade
I did not realise arch-conspirator was an Antigone retelling. Gonna have to bump it up my TBR to compare it to the other version I just read recently!
I think next time you do wrapped up, you should do 2 a vlog instead of just 1 😊
I saw a stage play of Radium Girls several years ago, and I was totally ignorant to the story up to that point. So tragic!
The final act sounds so good!!
If you're getting rid of the Pages & Co. book, I would love to buy it. Do you have pango books?
I read the first of the pages & Co book which I read earlier this year plan to continue but I still enjoy reading this age and also helps for work
still waiting…for…AND THE TREES CREPT IN
Oh my gosh, you need to read Camp Damascus also by Chuck Tingle
one of the middle grades that i think is universal is wildwood by colin meloy :)
YES!! perfect timing! i'm so excited for this episode!
Soooo happy u gave up on stressing about finding a 5 stars and just enjoy reading 💜❤️🧡🩷
Sees the title: 😍😍😍
Sees the run time: 😞😞😞
After watching: So glad you enjoyed Radium Girls!!
I've actually read two of those.
I loved Radium Girls, but the book club I read it with was disappointed that it didn't read like a Kristin Hannah novel 🥲 Kate Moore also wrote a book about a woman who got sent to a mental institution that I want to read (The Woman They Could Not Silence)

@@leire9444 gotcha! Like when she's making a video.
Old American saying :

I DNF’d the pages and co series after book one. I thought it was so cute! But wasn’t like…enough for me to want to keep reading it
I don't think it means anything, but you picked the same wrapping paper every time
