      @@FranciscoSanchez-cx9iz My opinion you shouldn’t be a tester if you don’t understand how to test with water columns.

    On your pvb you forgot to verify that the body fully drained after getting your air inlet opening. Excellent demonstration of all the failures I appreciate all of the videos!

      Yes I plan to redo some of these, they were kind of rushed and people have pointed out a few errors .. I guess on the bright side it’s good for practice to spot the errors 😅

    Wow, when I took the ABPA test I had to look over the forms and verify that the assembly was correct and do a NIIO before doing the start of the test and I did the RP first as I wanted to get the most difficult test done first and then done the SVB and then the PVB as the DC is the simplest to do and the failures that I had was the PVB Check valve leaking and the DC second check valve not holding. Make sure to ask if the reference point is acceptable prior to testing and that everything is buttoned up before turning over the paperwork.

    I got certified 3 years ago and haven't touched a backflow since. Now I'm due for recertification test and I'm nervous I won't pass. I'm cramming videos trying to remember everything.

    On your svb, I don’t like that you opened #2 shutoff valve before #1 shutoff valve during test

  • @goodtoknow4249
    @goodtoknow4249 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    for the RP does having the 5 valve gauge eliminate the need to loosen the hose from the #3 TC as you demonstrated with the 2 valve gauge?

    • @thebackflowbro6864
      @thebackflowbro6864  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes for the 5 valve you use the low bleed to reset the gauge instead of loosening the hose

    • @oscarromero1978
      @oscarromero1978 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      When using a 5 valve gauge in this scenario, do i need to have a 4th hose or do i disconnect the bypass hose from my gauge to the #1 test cock to make up for the #2 shutoff valve leak?

    • @thebackflowbro6864
      @thebackflowbro6864  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can use the bypass hose if using a 5 valve kit, otherwise you need a fourth hose to do the bypass

  • @emmanuelmontesinos6660
    @emmanuelmontesinos6660 ปีที่แล้ว

    The high side hose goes to the second testcock right?

    • @AncientChi
      @AncientChi 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes if it's the pvb you start with tc2 on svb there is no tc2 only a screw

      Depends on which test, some have rules about it but usually there are no restrictions you can just sign up to re-take but it depends on which exam provider you’re using

    I had to go through instead. All these backfill pavement are testing. Why do you all make a big deal out of this? It's not that hard if you can read step step step. You're just trying to make money on people. Dude, you're not helping anybody. What if you wanna learn to do backflow preventor you goat in sign up for a classroom local area, you can listen to this video, but the best way to do it is on hands doing it physically. But this guy right here he's okay but who cares

    So unnecessary, been testing for 25 years. Nothing essentially had changed with these devices. Having to memorize the rest is just ridiculous when you can just used the test book in the field. Why not make it open book? Even the plumbing license tests are open book. I see 2 things happening here, a money grab and weeding out people capable of testing backflows. Why they would do that is beyond me.

      I’ve noticed if you just require the exams to be blind then everyone figures it out and most people pass, if you allow them to use the sheets they barely practice and then are lost in the exam but can get through it. ABPA and some of the others I have noticed make it extremely hard to pass and like not much you can do about it, once I saw someone fail in Colorado because he opened a test cock too fast I was like “ yeah this isn’t what they said it was “ but in California and Arizona they seem cool like they aren’t just failing you on purpose

  • @shawn7851

    What a joke and now you have to be a licensed plumber all for the money grab

    • @thebackflowbro6864
      @thebackflowbro6864  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@shawn7851 yes some states require you to have plumbing or some similar license to do maintenance on the systems .. not always a money grab scenario but a lot of times unions are involved and they want to funnel work and have good relationships with politicians
