    Now your hair look so healthy. I got a haircut last week too the main reason was the latter part of my hair was pretty thin and too dry. Eventhough it's a bit hard to cut your hair if it makes the hair more healthy I think it's absolutely worth it. And you look stunning as always!

      True. Always difficult to get rid of length but it ends up looking so much better than before. To hair health!

      I can totally understand what you're saying. I think our hair struggles are very unique. It's easier for a person with textured hair to understand the issues we face with* shrinkage and density, differing curl patterns and porosity. It's easier when the person cutting your hair knows exactly what you're going through. I felt very comfortable that way.

  • @greeshmaghosh1841

    Your hair is looking really healthy and voluminous after the haircut. I too need to get rid of my scanty ends, but the fear of loosing length is making me take a step back. Don't know when I will get the courage to do it. Well a great video as usual.❤❤

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think it's important to feel comfortable before you go in for a haircut. That way you won't have regrets later. Like I mentioned we get attached to length. It's an emotional experience getting rid of it. It's actually a pretty big deal and theres no point rushing yourself. It's a decision that you'll have to take if and when you're ready. As long as you don't have split ends and damage thats getting worse with time, there's no need to push yourself.
      In my case, I didn't have any split ends, it was just previous colour damage. I make it a point to check and dust my ends every 2 months atleast.

    Hi Michelle, i think i came too late to watch this video, my hair was too much damaged from split ends and uneven length, so i decided to cut my hair by 2-3 inches in Jan 2022, but still it has not grown much. But i am relieved that split ends are almost gone. I will start my Curly hair journey now as that is the only thing left to try. Thank you for your detailed explanation in all your videos.

    Gurllll.. Your hair cut is so awesome. I sooo envy you now.❤ I just got mine today. Although I was prepared to loose some length, what I lost was waaayyy too much. Showing pictures and explaining didnt really work for me. I felt stylist didn't understand the difference between permed hair and naturally curly hair. Oh...boyyy.. My hairs came down from waist length to shoulder length. It was an unintentional big-chop, in middle of CGM. No experiments for me anymore. I'll totally stick with your unicorn hair-cut tutorial. 💕

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh my gosh Anu, this is so rough. I'm really sad and angry on your behalf. I can't believe you chopped off so much when all you wanted was a but of a trim & shaping. Stick to the unicorn cut. At the end ask someone at home to help with the bottom section (ask them to just see that it's level and rounded)
      You could also try a ponytail cut. It's a lot less complex than a unicorn. It will give you bottom heavy layers.
      Anyway here's hoping your hair grows back quickly.

    I have stopped going to salon for haircut when all they did was comment how tiring it is to cut my hair. I have thick and slightly wavy hair so I kinda get it but it got annoying to hear it everytime for years. Their only advice is to get keratin treatment. Last time I stepped into a salon was 3 years back. Since then my mom has been my hairdresser😁

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup. Totally get it. It can be brutal stepping into a salon.

  • @arushi8345
    @arushi8345 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I learn so much from you, practical and great advice ...
    From personal experience, I would suggest ki aap aur zaada layers mat karwana.... I got layered haircut ... Thoda zaada layers , and there are so many unprecedented fly aways at the weirdest of places.. where I never got them before.... Because layers add a lot of bounce, agar chhota layer hota hai toh unmanageable ho jaate hain ...
    Thanks to your hair management videos.... I am somehow sailing through the current haircut ... 😊💖🌻
    And I have personally decided ... Hair length badi hote hi... I will again cut my hair short up till the front layer ... And actually do away with layers totally and ... Ab se ... Simple sa U cut hi lungi... 🙄🙄🙄
    Ye mera layers k saath personal exp raha hai ... No matter how beautiful they look, they can be very very tricky and tiring.

    • @MichelleManuel
      @MichelleManuel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You have to have enough length on the layers. If you hair is let's say 24 inches + and the first layer cuts at 10-12 inches then you won't have the flyaway problem. My last diy triple unicorn cut had lots of layers. But they were longer layers because I had length. I did not face frizz or flyaway issues. This is my experience with layers on wavy clumps.
      The moment it's too short, you'll have it loosen up, look like a 2a as compared to your usual 2b/2c and also manage to look frizzy. It's tricky but once you are able to grasp this concept, you'll be be able to add layers for volume without the other issues.

    LOVE how the hair is looking..
    Thanks a ton for documenting and sharing this.. Finally a curl friendly hair salon in kolkata.
    I am still devastated with my Eyecatcher's experiencing. Atleast i need 2years to grow back..
    After that i will definitely try this salon out. 🤍

      I totally get what you went through!
      Can I share some advice?
      I think communication is key. Not for nothing, but sometimes we share blame in a haircut going wrong. It's important to state exactly what you want and then speak to the stylist and manage expectations on what is realistically possible. Then you can both agree to meet in the middle.
      It's also important to access if the stylist is on the same page and understood everything you tried to communicate. If there's a doubt, that's a red flag.
      I think I haven't done my part in the past with haircuts. Maybe I've been vague. Maybe the stylist didn't understand or I didn't explain properly.
      Maybe none of this hold true for you.
      Just felt like sharing.

      @@MichelleManuel thanks for sharing this.
      you are right. There was a red flag which I overlooked I have planned for dry cut but somehow I got convinced on wet cut in salon and that's where it when completely wrong.
