      I so want long hair but I have the same issue as you where it grows in a v shape in the back and the ends get stringy looking. I also made the mistake of cutting layers and made my ends look so thin so that didn’t help. I have high porosity hair and it’s very my fine and thin. It’s a lot like yours actually. I dyed it last year a light burgundy but haven’t colored since then. However what will happen when we have to dye our grey hair? The struggles. But I love this cut so much! I’m going to grow out my layers and try this cut for sure!

    I just got my hair cut pretty short, I was obsessed with length but because I have low density hair the more it's longer the sparse it looked, so I decided to get a blunt short cut getting rid of all my layers at once too and I couldn't be happier with the result. Not only it looks thicker and fuller but also it's much more easier to manage during wash days. After all, we should go with what suits us more, short or long, thick or thin and work with what we have :)

    Your hair looks fantastic. Perfect timing on this topic for me. The photo you took and drawing the line was an awesome idea! Thx for sharing. My hair is very fine. My stylist cuts into my lengths, rather than blunt cuts. I find my fine hair is way to wispy, on the ends, when not a blunt cut. Debating on finding another stylist. Man....these hair challenges!

    Coincidentally I too got a haircut - same thing! Shoulder length, rounded out in the back..got rid of the scraggly ends. My stylist was wonderful. I didn’t think I’d enjoy the length but I’m so happy with it! Glad u love it too.

    Looks so nice! Very flattering! The struggle is seriously real with me. To cut or not to cut. Shrinks a lot so I always look like I have short hair. So hard to find a stylist who really knows how to work with curly hair.

    My hair also grows quickly in the crown area so I also get the “v” in the back. I’m going to ask my stylist to do a blunt cut in the back next time. Taking a photo and marking it is a great idea! Thank you for your great videos; I always learn something from them. 😊🧐

    This was so helpful!
    I am new to curly hair (my hair turned curly after a hysterectomy 😂) and have it quite long due to COVID and not knowing who to trust with it (bad experiences, lol).
    I was thinking that is should get layers to add volume, but my hair is thinner, and your idea of having all the curls end together makes sense.
    I really need my routine to be easier, so shorter is where I’m going!
    Super helpful.

    I am so with you @Gena Marie! I have been growing my low density, fine 2c/3a hair out for awhile, because it seemed like it was never getting beyond a certain length with regular trims (now I know I can double or triple the usual time and just trim ends myself--which I learned thru pandemic and not going to stylist).
    So, I had been blunt cutting bottom for a couple of years and doing a bit of long layers on top and face framing pieces on my own. I love how long it has gotten, but long does not equal "full" or "looks good" (but the blunt bottom does help). So...time to level it up for fullness, I think. Not sure if I am totally ready for a lob or bob yet, so I will just start with a few inches and go gradually...wishing I could attach a pic somehow? found you recently and so glad I did! Your hair and mine = you get me! ☺️

    Your shorter hair looks SO beautiful, Gena! And tbh, its not even much shorter, but it looks so full and bouncy. 😁👍 For me, it hurts whenever I have to give up some of my length, but its always so worth it to cut off those damaged ends, and I always end up loving it better!

    Your hair looks great! I will need to use that screenshot trick in the future. I have the exact same situation with my hair. I have fine, lower density hair and cannot grow it long without the ends thinning out. My latest haircut a month ago was long overdue and it does feel better. My hair also tends to grow in a V, with the middle growing like a tail of sorts and it's very annoying lol

    What should I do my hair ends are also getting thin but I don't want to cut them

  • @amyclark6400
    @amyclark6400 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I do think that it looks better. I'm not sure of what the term you are using means, but myself, have thin curly hair, that can turn a bit frizzy. I went and got mine cut 6 weeks ago, because after the lock down was lifted, I KNEW that it had to be cut. I had 3 inches cut off the back, just to even it out, and make it look less straggly. I WAS TRYING to grow it, but it grows SO SLOWLY!! I guess, that I'm BACK to square one all over again!!

    My hair is wavy and low density very thin and I made the mistake of getting long layers in the past and trying to grow them out going 6 mo to a year without a cut. Now I have an inverted V like the opposite problem of you...the sides are looking longer on either side of my part but the middle from the back looks stringy and sparse :( not sure if I should ask for a blunt cut or short face framing layers?

  • @yensid4294
    @yensid4294 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I wouldn't call your hair short, it's medium length & I think the length & fullness is perfect for your face & frame. Really long hair isn't always that practical or flattering, it can be aging or just too much work ( I know from experience) Healthy, manageable hair you can style easily is a better goal imo. My hair is currently just below shoulders/touching bra strap in the back at the longest, but is tapered in front slightly with long layers. I have 2b hair that is thick & I got tired of blow drying it for 45 minutes and/or using curling irons & other hot tools. I have some chronic pain/fatigue issues that made holding a dryer & spending time styling my hair just too difficult so I started just air drying my hair(but it would be frizzy) Found out about the CGM & have been following that with good results. I do color/highlight my hair to cover grey but plan on transitioning into my natural grey over the next year or so. I'm also considering a slightly shorter, more layered cut--maybe a shag? but haven't decided since I just grew out bangs & shorter layers. I've had hair down to my waist & boy short & everything inbetween. Medium is a great length & probably where I'll end up. Since my hair is thick, layered styles work best for my texture otherwise the weight pulls out all the volume & really stretches out the wave pattern.

    Your hair looks great. I love the blunt cut! I do that also for my hair, which is much finer than yours and not nearly as curly. I don't think that your hair looks short, but that's all subjective. As far as curly cuts, I think they are overrated and they charge too much for them. I used to get them, but not any longer. It almost looks as if your hair on the left side of your head is longer than the right. It might just be the way you are holding yourself for the camera. I'm not being critical, just being a friend. Check it out and see what you think.Thanks for sharing.
