As someone who spent a ton of time trying to figure out more about the clock in Eternal Ring, the clock in Elden Ring is quite interesting to me. Glad to know they added more nuance than just the "nighttime bosses and enemies". In Eternal Ring, I'm fairly certain Fromsoft had some, or all enemies, have a "weak time of day", based on the enemy's elemental weakness and which element the time of day was. Enemies take more damage during their weak time of day. It'd be interesting to know if any enemies in Elden Ring have a similar change in defense or offense numbers.
The weakness to a time of day thing seems kind of brilliant. Souls games are known for their difficulty, and while I'm not one of those advocating for the addition of an easy mode, I do think it would make for an interesting mechanic to have some very specific steps you could take to make a boss or tough enemy much easier. It allows for a "play smarter not harder" style of play, where you hunt down info about the weaknesses of different enemies and the tools you need to exploit those weaknesses. For most people, it would be more trouble than just beating the boss normally, but some people would probably find this a lot more fun.

@@zachweyrauch2988 if you mean going back to check out the previous Soulsborne games, I’ve played and beat them all. Short of Demon’s Souls only cause I’ve never owned a system to play it on. I’m actually going back because me and my friend who has beaten Elden Ring (up to like NG+6 or so) has only ever played DS2. Well I told him I’ve beaten everything in that game except 2/3 of the DLC’s, so we started with that game. Then I let him borrow Bloodborne, which the a-hole beat in like seven days (it took me seven years of playing off and on) and all we have left to go back and do on that one is the DLC which neither of us has beaten yet (more running and screaming for THAT f’n place lol). He borrowed Sekiro and got 2/3 of the way through, but still needs to finish that one. But just recently I bought the two of us Dark Souls Remastered (still not sure why they call it a ‘remaster’ when all they did was port it to newer consoles and include DLC…) because he has never played before, and I myself have never owned the DLC. Plus I’ve been wanting to fight Artorias and Manus forever! Then after we beat this game, it’s on to Dark Souls 3, which is one more he has never played. Only bosses I never beat in that one were Nameless King (man, F that guy) and Darkeater Midir. But man it’s fun to go back and play these games with all of their limitations after playing something as accessible/easy as Elden Ring. Really reminds us old FromSoft ‘veterans’ how much we took for granted in that game. Plus he’s loving the stories of these older games as much as I always have and I’m enjoying being along for the ride. I actually find myself being a lot more confident this time around. So only sometimes these days when we get super overwhelmed am I just like, “you know what, screw it. RUN!!” Lol
@Memnoch_the_Devil well man fill your boots. Hope stuff works out for you guys. Don't give up on hard bosses either, they're all beatable solo. Not sure it was worth doing, but it's possible.
I recently noticed that the mausoleums it Altus weren't moving when I was running by them. I just assumed the connection winged out and that they'd eventually glitch into mid jump randomly and then continue their cycle. No idea they were actually asleep haha
The first time I ever encountered one of these they were standing still, not moving an inch. I had read one of those notes you can buy from the merchants giving a hint on how to deal with these and it said to clean up around its feet. So I started killing a bunch of the mobs around it and coincidentally the moment I killed a pack of headless ghosts, it started moving. So I kept "cleaning up around its feet" until there was nothing else to clean up and I was sooo confused why none of it worked. Little did I know I simply encountered a mausoleum at late night and that I merely had to clean up the skulls around its literal feet.
Knowing that they bothered to create a breathing world that works on a daily cycle, and you find different things depending on the cycle, is cool as fuck.
bro I legit thought my game was glitched when I first seen this. Good to know they get tired from walking (and jumping) around all day! I wonder if any more creatures have something like this too?
Neat. I've actually seen this a couple of times and just assumed it was a glitch. I figured their walk cycle A.I. just didn't load in or something lol. This info might actually be genuinely useful for dealing with the fucking orbital nuclear strike wandering mausoleum in the consecrated snowfield that fights you by overloading your CPU with projectiles and explosions, beating you by making the game crash.
this is absolutely insane and I can only imagine the kind of thing they expect players to have to stumble into and then spread through finger-messages. But thank you .
I'm glad you pointed out that dying at night mechanic putting you in the morning as annoying. I've been calling that mechanic annoying, along with the slow use of potions, the long animation after death, and the fact there's no pause on a game I have over 40 hours in and have used the online features exactly 0 times. And all I get is grief from the fanboys.
Can you do a dive on a phenomenon involving the giant in front of Mornes castle? There's been a few playthroughs now that he hasn't aggroed on me until I hit him and I'm wondering if there's a mechanic at play
I saw this once! I was waiting for the Liurnia mausoleum to move closer to the spirit spring, and was so confused why it was standing completely still!

Everyone keeps talking about that mausoleum in the Snowfields. But I had absolutely no trouble with it. I beat it just like all the others. Sure it fired some projectiles at me but it wasn't really any problem at all.
Hi Leviathan, it is impressive what we can discover in Elden ring after so much time! Also i would love to find the cat clip you put in 0:55 of the video
I had this happen to me before the castle where the second haligtree medaillon is, I thought that it maybe glitched out because of the castle but it was at that time, because I killed the annyoing death bird before.
What time of the night does the erd tree blessing happen? I've gotten it to happen in multiple runs and it seems to be only at some night time that it happens. The erdtree membrance will drop leaves and the golden fowl foot activates (without consuming one). Normally I see this when: I'm getting the Dectus Half (near mistwood), when near the 3rd Church of Merika (3CoM) & then if you use the north sprit jumps behind 3CoM and travel toward calid, you can get the erdtree blessing a third time. I see it the most when starting with Confessor build.
I learned to run through that last turtle. I used to juke the right, and ran into the bird doing it, so I wait until the last volley is shot in the air and mad dash passed it.
Can you please let me know what Twilight Princess song / instrumental you used in the last chapter of this video? It’s been bothering me ever since I heard this video 😭😭
Yeah no kidding. You gotta be in that 7 minute time frame and be around a walking mausoleum and not in say... Lucaria or dying to Melania or in Caelid wishing you were discovering something like this...
I saw this in my first playthrough and thought the bastards were bugged because it was one of those mausoleums where the skulls are on top, not the legs, and I hadnt seen that yet.

Cool video man. Subscribed to your channel. 🤘
I recently noticed that the mausoleums it Altus weren't moving when I was running by them. I just assumed the connection winged out and that they'd eventually glitch into mid jump randomly and then continue their cycle. No idea they were actually asleep haha
That one mausoleum you have to risk your neck to jump upon: *falls asleep*
"Sonofa....!"
would be kinda funny if everything just slept at this time until attacked.
I like the puking Cat. Gets me everytime. Good Content.
This game never ceases to show a new secret
Thank you, the video answered the question I had since yesterday when I discovered the walking mausoleum in the weeping peninsula.
00:55 the cat is adorable haha
Sekiro?....What are you doing here? Sekijo is waiting for you.
That last mausoleum is annoying.
I wonder if that trick works on the one in I think the Consecrated Snowfield. The one that shoots magic at you even at a fat distance from it
The way you say mausoleums is all I need.
Mäzïlliyumms
Super neat, I've spent so much time in this game and had no idea that there was a late night, let alone that the mausoleums fall asleep!
this is absolutely insane and I can only imagine the kind of thing they expect players to have to stumble into and then spread through finger-messages.
I thought my game was broken when I find a mausoleum stopped moving, now this explains everything
"Time to break their legs" got me so hard I choked on my bread stick.
I saw this happening yesterday at the Mausoleum Compound near the Frenzied Village and thought it was a bug since they were perfectly still.
Night time should be darker, change my mind.
Its that damn tree I swear
@@ninetythirtyfour6309 ^^^^ this
What is that enemy @ 0:42? I’ve never seen this one before
@@SlashFlashTrash that's a bell bearing hunter
I saw this once!
I was waiting for the Liurnia mausoleum to move closer to the spirit spring, and was so confused why it was standing completely still!
Where did u get a video of the day night cycle clock? Or is it your video? I’m Just trying to get a closer look at the clock bc i think the art style on it is really cool and probably almost definitely hiding secrets i haven’t heard anyone talk about
Everyone keeps talking about that mausoleum in the Snowfields.
I thought the sun would explode
every single thing in elden ring has a sleep animation some are 1 of 1 animations its insane the work they put into this game
I just want day cycle controls. A permanent sunset would be beautiful
we won't have the deathbirds in the liurnia and limgrave then. the deathbird in liurnia has that red feathered talisman which is a great talisman.
@@eetfuk3571 that’s why I said controls. Set it to night when you want to. Boom permanent night time nerd
As others have said, I thought the mausoleum was bugged when I first saw one during late night, only later found out it was intended.
I think it is at random night not a specific hour
I'm pretty sure night time is when you get a chance of golden eyed enemies to spawn. I know it's low odds, but they produce about 5x runes or so.
That's crazy, I've put in almost 200 hours into a few playthroughs and I've never seen or knew the mausoleum could fall asleep
I've seen the Mausoleum fall asleep, but I always thought it was a "regular night thing"
I actually came across this randomly. I just figured I got lucky with a bug or something. Glad to hear it was actually intentional.
I learned to run through that last turtle. I used to juke the right, and ran into the bird doing it, so I wait until the last volley is shot in the air and mad dash passed it.
“It’s 3am, who falls asleep at 3 in the morning?”
“Oh boy, 3am!”
Consider anything else to do with the dead demigods, particularly Castle Sol perhaps?
WOOOOAAAAHHHHHH!!!!! A "secret" I actually didn't know! Kudos!
I ran into a sleeping mausoleum once, I just assumed it was glitched and went about my business.
Can you please let me know what Twilight Princess song / instrumental you used in the last chapter of this video? It’s been bothering me ever since I heard this video 😭😭
Bruh 200 hours in and didn’t know this existed
Yeah no kidding. You gotta be in that 7 minute time frame and be around a walking mausoleum and not in say... Lucaria or dying to Melania or in Caelid wishing you were discovering something like this...
I saw this in my first playthrough and thought the bastards were bugged because it was one of those mausoleums where the skulls are on top, not the legs, and I hadnt seen that yet.
That's pretty badass ngl. I just kinda went Leroy Jenkins mode and ran in there knocking off all of the skulls
This is hilarious. I just found your channel and this video made me crack up. I checked your channel description and by the laws of TH-cam, I'm obligated to subscribe.
@HelloHelloe fair lmao true npc behavior
I saw the mausoleum in liurnia not moving a few days ago. I thought they just went on powersave mode! All that stumbling around uses a lot of...whatever they eat...
Gurranq goes outside on late night and prays
only two minutes and nine seconds and this contains quite some funny jokes and information about the game. Consider me subscribed sir !
1:15 but what IM talking about is the moon with the fucked up face inside of a crescent moon on the little clock there.
I have definitely seen this, but I spend a lot of time running around without any clues what to do or where to go lol
