The reason for this car being only front wheel drive, and having a naturally aspirated 2 litre engine, was that the rules in the Formula 2 ( F2 ) rally class said that the cars had to be fwd and run naturally aspirated engines, but with no revlimit they revved very high, and could produce around 280-300 hp, so on tarmac rallys it was more than a match for the 4wd turbo cars, it was also alot lighter than the wrc cars.
it seems as if those kit cars werent a pleasure to drive. the back looks very very nervous, but thats the only way you can get a fwd fast round corners. respect to the drivers!
one of the best rally cars...

ma come si fa a mettere in rete un video con l'audio che non è quello originale ????????????
its hard to better Panizzi or Delecour in these cars. They would have been fantastic with 4WD.
front wheel drive this car was famous for kicking the pants out of the group A cars in the tarmac rallies
Why DID they only make it FWD and not AWD? like the subaru's and lancer's etc.
until fia made new rules, take the xsara kit car, they forced it to be 4wd
whas it 4 wheel driven
