    My Senegal is the friendliest and the sweetest bird. He talks a lot and imitates every sound. Even the obnoxious ones lol. It's amazing how much he can imitate.

    I love my Sennie. She's saucey and talkative. Thank you for not clipping your Sennie's wings. My birds owners no longer wanted her after 14 years so I got her. I let her flight feathers grow in because they had been clipped her whole life. She didn't know how to fly. It took time to teach her but I can still see the look of surprise on her face when she flew across the room, I had to teach her landing and take off too. Now she fly's and lands where she wants in the house. You would never know that at one time she couldn't fly.

    I have a Senegal that is 20 years old. She can be noisy but not loud, like a Macaw or other larger parrots. They do like attention and to have people around. They will bond with you. Mine is a little afraid of strangers, but will readily "step up" on my finger.

    Maia sounds exactly like MY Senegal!!! The only word he says is a mumbly-sounding "BABY". People always want to know if he talks, but he just makes senegal noises! What he doesn't speak, he makes up in his sweet personality. He's now 18 yo already!

    Hi Brittany. I'm getting a Senegal from a breeder here in England in about eight weeks. I've done a lot of research and this parrot is very quiet for a parrot so give it a go. If your bird is content and well socialised you won't have problems with noise. Good luck xx

    Hello everyone I’m having a very hard time choosing between a black headed caique (which have a lot of energy and can have “ their moods”) and I’ve talked to a parrot store owner who has 2 black headed caiques and he said that when his birds were mating the were making really loud noises and he also said they make conures look like nothing (by their scream) I’m maybe thinking about getting a Senegal but I’ve heard they can also have that aggressiveness that caiques can have I also have a cockatiel that is aggressive and bites and hisses at me so I’m pretty used to getting bitten and sometimes hard

    Hey there! I'm thinking about getting a Senegal of my own, but live in an apartment so I have some questions that I was hoping you could answer. This video is actually super helpful as it gives me an idea of how much noise they make; however, it's hard to tell exactly how loud they are through TH-cam. Not sure if you live in an apartment or not, but have you ever gotten complaints from neighbors regarding the noise issue? Or can you hear your Senne screaming if you were say on the other side of the wall? I never want to have to re-home a pet so if you could let me know if you think its a good idea or not that would be great :)

      Hi! I know I'm not the owner to the video but I actually own a Senegal parrot! Few quick tips. One, they actually aren't VERY loud. My parrot isn't too loud. He gets excited when someone (my father typically) walks in the room and screams but not extremely loud. They are NOT talking parrots. They mimic sounds they hear like for example, mine mimics the sound of our alarm system as well as the squeaky door! Now second thing, parrots will want to bond with someone. One person. Mine chose my dad. Do NOT let their flight wings grow in. It was a bad decision and after we did, he ONLY likes my dad now, things he is king of the house because he can fly, and bites me and my mom a lot. Overall they are very sweet birds, but noise wise they would be okay for an apartment 😊 sun conures are the ones you'd want to avoid because they are VERY noisy! Hope I helped!

      ***** Arleer158 Thanks guys! This is a lot of help. I grew up with a cockatoo and an african grey so I'm definitely used to bird noises. Now that I live on my own I thought it would be best to get a species that's on the quieter side. I ended up spending a lot of time with a Sene that my boyfriend and I are planning on adopting and he's seemed to click pretty well with the both of us. I do plan on keeping him flighted just because I have experience with flighted birds compared to non-flighted birds and just find that they have a lot more confidence and are a lot happier. Anyways, I'm bringing him home tomorrow :) Wish me luck! Thanks again for your advice!

      Hi, you can find some good tips on TH-cam. Some of the items that were new to me included don't stare at him. That is a predator trait so makes birds feel unsafe. You probably found out good nutritional and safety advice. But the hard part will be building trust. Teach. "Step Up" using treats. That is good for two lessons getting a on your finger an the learning process is fun because it includes treats.

    • @idarodgers3066
      @idarodgers3066 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Another thought along the same subject (bonding), always greet your bird first before any one else including pets. Make that a hello and step up lesson to include the treat. You will probably become his number one real soon.
