Barone is now a millionaire and honestly he absolutely deserves it. Genuinely seems like a super nice guy.
I can only imagine. All the companies who turned him down are probably looking for someone to blame that one on.

Stardew Valley is the most wholesome game I've ever played

the only things I want to see more is more dialogue from NPCs and more opportunities to choose response dialogue
YES!!
There are various mods that add more dialogue from certain NPCs and they're pretty nifty but you have to get to a certain heart level in order for the more background, story line driven stuff to get triggered. I'm pretty sure
More responses would be great!
Yes
I personally want more reaction dialogue, like for example when you marry just a bit of dialogue from the family members of the spouse about you being part of the family or whatever

Whether you get it from the water or the vending machine, Joja Cola is always marked as trash. This may be because of the player's previous employment that they quit as they view the company as power hungry. As such, Joja leaves a bad taste in the player's mouth, leading to the player viewing it as trash no matter where it comes from.

I totally agree with what was said about Autism and this game. I'm an autistic adult on the higher functioning side of the spectrum, and the routine- oriented theme of the game makes it quite relaxing and enjoyable for me, plus it's great for working on social skills and interactions in an environment where I can't do much harm if mistakes are made. I loved this game immediately when I began playing it.
i have Autism too and i and agree with this comment
I don’t have autism, but I get high stress and mental breakdowns sometimes, and I find stardew valley very relaxing and sweet. I especially like how you can pet the animals and it makes them happier, because I love animals. I usually steer clear of the mines unless I have to get any ores... the combat and fighting makes me really nervous... but I also like how I can easily talk to everyone and all the nps are nice, except the ones I usually don’t want to befriend anyways. I also really like the music, I have always liked video game soundtrack. I love rainy days too, because is sounds like real rain and I don’t have to water my crops.
Plus, the *name* “stardew valley” just sounds nice and sweet.
Agreed!
i have autism as well
Same here. I have severe social anxiety and am on the higher spectrum of autism. Not alot of people understand that it's hard for us to do certain things like talk to others or focus on one thing

The wizard is secretly Abigail's dad actually
1. Purple hair
2. Doesn't get marked as *single in the social area
3. Idk why he left tho
Actually I was playing the game earlier and Caroline told me that her original hair color is chestnut brown, so she dyed her hair to be purple. Abigail also said to my character sometime during summer or fall what color she should change her hair to, which supports it since it means she's open to dying her hair to begin with.
...Though I do still think Wizard is her dad.

That would cool to have Eric in Stardew Valley. Eric Barone would be like the best neighbor you ever had. I think Eric should put himself in the game. Only 414 hours? You gotta pump those numbers up. Those are rookie numbers.
Seriously. I'm a pretty heavy player but not compared to a number of people, but still I have 580 hours in my main game, 278 in my secondary file, and about 40 hours between all the files I've just experimented with. That's not even counting the 200 hours I've spent on the wiki. 414 is decent, but nothing spectacular.
the thing is that he was talking about a beta tester. I think he meant that he got those hours all during beta which is prett imressive imo.
I played this 40 hours over the course of a year and it feels like I payed it for ages. what is there even to do in the game to warrant 414 hours of gameplay?

I would love a chef profession where you open a restaurant and compete with Joja's Chain Restaurant. This could also lead into Online Multiplayer where one person is a farmer and provides ingredients to the chef player.
The Bard King z THAT IS AN AMAZING IDEA!!!!!!!!😃😃👍🏻
I'd love that as well.... or pastery chef
I do like the idea of a player being able to buy a store on the other side of town, and set it up to do one of a few different things. And you could have the multiplayer let one player run the farm, one run the shop, and the third and/or fourth players get to choose if they're living with the one player or the other.
I'd also love to see some part-time jobs and such -- apprenticeships, even. I always loved the grape-gathering time of year in Back to Nature, and it'd be neat here to pick fruit at an orchard (perhaps the orchard gets destroyed in the third year, so by that time you should've made your own trees, and the orchard's owner does something else with the land?), or help out with blacksmith work, or sell things to customers at the saloon or general store. (One of my favorite areas of a retro game is Taloon's chapter in Dragon Warrior IV, and when Recettear came around, I knew I'd come home. Running a shop and trying to sell things is fun! Having some level of minigame with it -- instead of just "here's the thing you want, now bye" -- is nice, though, honestly, I'd prefer to set the prices (on a five-tiered system: Super Cheap, Cheap, Normal, Somewhat Expensive, and Expensive?) for each item or at least for each group of item (e.g. sale on tree fruit today), and then maybe have a minigame where you grab an item from the right shelf to hand to the customer, or something. I dunno. Not TOO much like Diner Dash, but....
Arkylie - Yeah! And maybe the store manager of Joja could approach the player (maybe multiple times, but each time the player would be able to reject the offer), offer a cushy position in the company in exchange for you purposefully sabotaging the local store you work in or even offering you a job *before* you work at whatever store and place you in there to destroy it from the inside; but you'd have to sabotage the place in such a way that Pierre (or whoever you choose to 'work' for) for doing it/doing it on purpose so you don't get fired.
That would be so cool!
My son bought Stardew Valley for me as a gift. He swore I would enjoy it better than Harvest Moon. Well, at age 59, I'm not good at gaming but He was right! This game is FABULOUS!! It has literally become a part of my daily life & I LOVE IT!!

Software Engineer here. For fact #13, it is important to mention how similar C# is to Java. To make an analogy, comparing C# to Java would be like comparing American English to British English. The fact that the game was made in C# is interesting though!
I think the romance languages are a better analogy. Once you know Spanish you can learn French or Italian easily but they definitely arnt the same just similar.
This, As someone who can program in both C# and Java I don't think either is particularly easier to get into for someone new to programming and it's quite easy to learn one knowing the other well.

I genuinely feel so incredibly lucky that barone never gave up when making this glorious game and he is such an amazing person
10:30 wrong, you can lose your livestock in a rare event if you leave em outside the barn at night. And by lose I mean it's highly implied that they get killed from a predator.
Alex Mc a wolf to be exact. But it’s not thaaaat rare if you have multiple barns
Games like these I hope my kids come across one day and simply enjoy the game of our era.
The creator kinda looks like Shane XD
Eric is so wholesome I couldn’t bring myself to pirating stardew valley 😭
There should be a follow up because a lot has changed in Stardew Valley ever since this video was released.
You messed up by showing gameplay images of the newer Harvest Moon games that the original creator has nothing to do with. He split from Natsume and now Natsume owns the Harvest Moon title. The original creator has made the continuation of the original Harvest Moon games as Story of Seasons. Please support those games as the Natsume's Harvest Moon is nothing but an abomination.
Exactlyyyyy
when i found this out, i had actually been working at game stop seasonal
i bought story of seasons SO damn fast
I used to play the game on my moms gamecube when she had it
Agreed

The gold is from the mayors secret gold statue of himself. You can find it behind his house
Extra bits from his sculpting
Leeel, my sister found a diamond in one.
I really want more tiers for each level (like farming, fishing, combat, etc) so we don't have such a small cap on it.
I also want more villagers withmore and better dialogue, it seems like there isnt enough :/
More villagers would basically ruin the sense of being in a small town, having a real feel of a community.
The fact that Abigail eats gems is more intresting than any of thse if you ask me XD
"I need a gold bar to rub on my lips."
Why, I haven't even smelted an iron bar yet.
