I would honestly be surprised if other dubs didn't also cut the almost kiss given the time, the Italian dub was guaranteed to edit out that stuff since they have to edit the footage to match the song anyway, but I can't imagine many other dubs keeping the kiss scene, not when they first released at least.

Japanese- well, perfect. The Korean one made me laugh a bit. SheShe's voice was good but Mimi oh my god XD The Chinese voices were meh. The Spanish one is okay, nothing over the top. European Portuguese- Usually I don't like Portuguese dubbed voices but this sounds well done like the echo plus the creepy sounds. Hebrew- The voices are too high pitched to me. French- The voices are actually okay. Greek- Their voices seem to fit them pretty well. I think the Greek dub picked good voices. I have no idea what they are saying but I like their voices. Serbian- They sound okay again. I kinda like it actually, not too sure why. Maybe with the echo? Italian- why?! They made it a pop song XD the voices are good though.

The Castilian Spanish version did an impressive job of finding voices that closely match the Japanese voices. Also, I feel a bit of biased favoritism towards the Japanese version, but the Greek version is on par. Maybe even my favorite. They did an excellent job singing, and although quite different than the original, it still fits the feel of the song.
The Castilian Spanish dub of this song is awesomee,the greek version is also great but it would be better if they chose voice actresses that sounded more similar to Sheshe and Mimi's original voices though(Well can't blame them too much for it since there weren't many greek voice actors back then I think)

XD I was looking on a different tab and I was wondering if I was listening to the same thing until I went back to see it playing. Is that the same song!? I mean I can't even tell if the Italians replaced the song or it's still the same (with just a little pop mixed into it).
It's another original song. All Italian songs are on a different tune then the original ones (This one is called "Voce del Buio", that means "Voice of the Darkness"). I think it has both to do with the costs to translate the original song, and the fact that italian is a quite "long" language. To say the same thing, it uses usually more words then the japanese version, so a simple translation would probably not fit in the time of the original musics.

@@francescofra.1086 a cover of this song was totally possible, every other language has done it and it's not like songs are never translated in Italian dubs, they just chose to not pay the original license, kinda like how the early English dubs of DragonBall made their own music to replace the Japanese OST. This is actually a pretty interesting experiment in a way, in Italy it was common, especially back then, to make original songs for cartoon openings and even moreso for anime, and this show is pretty much the epitome of that trend as they not only made an original opening song but a whole ass brand new OST (well for the songs, the rest of the music is still from the original) and it's insane how well fitting the songs are for the show even if they have less variety and don't quite match the lip sync as well as the other dubs.

Honestly, I don't want to be mean or anything but I really don't like the italian version, it just doesn't capture the "tone" of the original. I prefer La Nostra Forza (italian ver. for "Yami no Baroque") which is at least very close to the japanese and has in my opinion a better instrumental than "Voce del Buio". But still why do they have to change the songs? Of course this is my opinion and I have nothing against italians. Heck here in France we have far worst dubs...

@@_Ravani Well, I do. I'm interested on how other countries translated the songs, because there may be big differences. Or it's just written in a more poetic way.
They hug and blush at each other and there are times when they almost kiss. The Italian dub cut out quite a bit of that.
I would honestly be surprised if other dubs didn't also cut the almost kiss given the time, the Italian dub was guaranteed to edit out that stuff since they have to edit the footage to match the song anyway, but I can't imagine many other dubs keeping the kiss scene, not when they first released at least.

European Portuguese- Usually I don't like Portuguese dubbed voices but this sounds well done like the echo plus the creepy sounds.
Hebrew- The voices are too high pitched to me.
French- The voices are actually okay.
Greek- Their voices seem to fit them pretty well. I think the Greek dub picked good voices. I have no idea what they are saying but I like their voices.

Why?
The Castilian Spanish version did an impressive job of finding voices that closely match the Japanese voices.
Also, I feel a bit of biased favoritism towards the Japanese version, but the Greek version is on par. Maybe even my favorite. They did an excellent job singing, and although quite different than the original, it still fits the feel of the song.
The Castilian Spanish dub of this song is awesomee,the greek version is also great but it would be better if they chose voice actresses that sounded more similar to Sheshe and Mimi's original voices though(Well can't blame them too much for it since there weren't many greek voice actors back then I think)
fan fact : Black beauty sisters and the mermaids share the same singers in the greek dub but their speaking voices are different actresses

I'm guessing they thought that since they were using mics, that it should give off a reverb effect but they used a little too much. Fortunately, they toned it down a great deal in season 2.

The real reason because in Italy they changed the songs is that for Italian people is difficult to listen Japanese melodies, so they preferred give to the songs a western touch. For the second season create new songs would be to much difficult, so they used the sames.

I was looking around in confusion when the Italian version started playing. XD I was looking on a different tab and I was wondering if I was listening to the same thing until I went back to see it playing. Is that the same song!? I mean I can't even tell if the Italians replaced the song or it's still the same (with just a little pop mixed into it).
It's another original song.
All Italian songs are on a different tune then the original ones (This one is called "Voce del Buio", that means "Voice of the Darkness"). I think it has both to do with the costs to translate the original song, and the fact that italian is a quite "long" language. To say the same thing, it uses usually more words then the japanese version, so a simple translation would probably not fit in the time of the original musics.
They had the rights of the original songs, but since they didn't wanna give credits to the Japanese guys, they made their own songs.

@@francescofra.1086 a cover of this song was totally possible, every other language has done it and it's not like songs are never translated in Italian dubs, they just chose to not pay the original license, kinda like how the early English dubs of DragonBall made their own music to replace the Japanese OST.
This is actually a pretty interesting experiment in a way, in Italy it was common, especially back then, to make original songs for cartoon openings and even moreso for anime, and this show is pretty much the epitome of that trend as they not only made an original opening song but a whole ass brand new OST (well for the songs, the rest of the music is still from the original) and it's insane how well fitting the songs are for the show even if they have less variety and don't quite match the lip sync as well as the other dubs.

Honestly, I don't want to be mean or anything but I really don't like the italian version, it just doesn't capture the "tone" of the original. I prefer La Nostra Forza (italian ver. for "Yami no Baroque") which is at least very close to the japanese and has in my opinion a better instrumental than "Voce del Buio". But still why do they have to change the songs? Of course this is my opinion and I have nothing against italians. Heck here in France we have far worst dubs...
The real reason because in Italy they changed the songs is that for Italian people is difficult to listen Japanese melodies, so they preferred give to the songs a western touch. For the second season create new songs would be to much difficult, so they used the sames.

I have to wonder why the Romance language dubs repeat some of the lyrics. I guess it worked better for the flow of the song.
Ice Kokoro yeah,only the Taiwanese,Korean,Hebrew and Serbian dub didn’t repeat the lyrics during that part. Maybe the other countries found that part hard to dub🤷🏻♀️🎶
