the bass channel is insane, it completely does its own thing and i love it from what i heard the thing it does at 8:00 was supposed to be a pitch bend but the sound chip messed it up and they just left it in; it sounds really cool so that would be funny if that was the case
Man miyamoto absolutely SHREDDING the hell out of that guitar sample was really a good idea to add it, without it the song plus the intro it wouldn't have that seriousness/grittiness contained in the tracks themselves
Miyamoto's guitar shredding was used in the opening, not this track. I don't know where the original sample for this guitar came from, however, since the person that restored this theme with its original sound sources never explicitly stated what they used to make it (darn).
Well some say the original samplage was a strat guitar with a overdrive effect others also say that it might be a synth guitar, but it definitely might be a real guitar
@@XxX_SkullBoi06_XxX, we don't have the original uncompressed version of good old M. Seeger's (nickname in the game) guitar shredding, so it's more likely to be from some sound module.
This is actually a really helpful video! For someone working on a remix of this song almost entirely by ear, it's so nice to hear every channel individually this way, so thanks!
EarthBound is just fine as it is even with its flaws. A remaster can lose some of the vision and heart the original game has. You'll experience that vision fully in the original game. Some things could end up censored for any reason, limiting the original expression. The same thing happened to games like Klonoa and the like, so it'll likely happen again if EarthBound or other games like it (within the series or not) get remakes as well. Just rerelease the original game or make something completely new. If it isn't broken, don't fix it.
Well, Megalovania did originally come from an Earthbound ROM hack, which is why the song always uses the Earthbound Overdriven Guitar in all of it’s official versions!😄😏😎
Corrscope doesn't allow muting or isolation of tracks. I took the original SPC file (or whatever game file you're working with) and exported each channel as a WAV file with Foobar2000. I edited each to be as long as I need it to for the video and I silence the parts I don't need, both done in Audacity.
11:06 all together now.

Yeah. Apparently the sample couldn't go as high as intended. It sounds great either way.
this song was brilliantly crafted
The team that made EarthBound really outdid themselves.
The drums in 4:07 are just perfection
Ye.
The speed of it amazes me in many ways
@@Lonkshi21You ever listen to metal?
Sounds like doom
Fun fact:
The bass in this song is also used in Mario Paint's composer mode.
This bass?
@@PKSuperStar256 Yes
@@superdean9966, I have to check.
as an earthbound hacker i can confirm this song is extremely over engineered

Kickass overdrive guitar, right next to the ones from Mega Man X1-3.
I always thought 4 Chan sucked, until I listed to this.

Nice oscilloscope view deconstruction of the song!😄🤩😎👌
i see you everywhere lmao.
I looked for a video with that music a week ago and I didn't find it
thanks :D
You're welcome! I'm surprised carpathia808 wasn't even requested to do this.
P.S. No, I'm not trying to steal carpathia808's thunder.

How does deconstruction work? How does the software know how to extract each part individually from the originap track?

@@julianmanjarres1998, the SPC file? You're going to have to search it up. I'd rather not mention it here.
also 0/10 you didnt include the completely muted channel that still has all of its data present (/j)

@PKSuperStar256 throughout the entire song, there is a droning/ambient sound that is completely muted.
