Björn Bürger performs ‘Ein Mädchen oder Weibchen’ from Mozart's Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute). He is accompanied by Kate Golla on piano.
Björn Bürger is playing Papageno in the Glyndebourne Festival 2019 production of Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute).
After downing a glass of wine which has magically appeared before him, birdcatcher Papageno’s mind wanders to other pleasure, and sings about the wife he would like to make him truly happy. This he does in delightful, almost folk-like music that has all the directness and simplicity of the character himself.

I have seen him as Figaro in The Barber. Fabulous! I am inclined to think of these faculties as one of the heights of civilization. And I am not an opera specialist.

He is wonderful! I think he was Figaro recently in Barber of Seville? He is a total charmer, beautiful voice, delightful acting.
