Maybe a little bit more love for the Basti, so it doesn't look always like the little, unwanted brother of the always cheered Claymore. I prefer Bastard over Claymore, because it looks and feels better, but somehow the Claymore is always the better and more polished weapon. Give it the range of the Claymore and I will be happy.
Love the blue plunging to his doom, the format mix is still great. I was wondering if you could do a banished knight cosplay build, i know you have done the swords but i dont remember if you did them with the ashes of war. And if you did if you could try and invade in farum azula or somewhere where you could kinda fight with other banished knights, i think that would be funny.
This game is just a good time. The early game feels like an eternity ago for me, but it's sich a blast being in this game. I especially enjoy the active online and all the QoL features for co-op :)
I can't wait to see some giant hunt and raptor otm in my duels again. Last time he showed of wild strikes there was a 100% increase in their use, including myself
This is my main weapon for my level 32 +5 PVP build. Its light enough that I can still have decent armor and does a good amount of frost buildup with cold scaling. I've got wild strikes on it. A surprising amount of people try to trade with that.
Thank you for helping my daughter sleep. She’s only three weeks old and I watch your videos when I change and feed her so she’s starting to be comforted when these videos play lol
Isn’t there a better version of repeating thrust called the blood tax or does it do less dmg, all I know for each hit during the blood tax u get some hp back
Ive just never used the bastard sword because for GS ill go claymore for the pokes and cold/heavy infusion, flameberge for bleed/keen/occult, and if i want just high AR for heavy infusion ill use the iron greatsword. I just have never found a reason to use the bastard sword
Also I see you use raptors of the mist often and was wondering if you have tried the talisman that increases head shots just a thought it may be ass i dunno
I love your videos bro, keep up the positive energy! I recently started to adapt to a controller in eldenring. Being a pure MnK player it's quite a difference. Anyways I wanted to ask if you use the default controller layout and if you use the claw grip or not
I tested it with quality 80/80 and that damage was insane (about 770) and also vacuum blade is pretty fun on it it's like blasphemous blade just cheaper it's really fun and i killed malenia with it (journey 2 but with a player summon) and also just breezed through farum azula and the rest
When you get hit but don't stagger, your character's upper body plays a flinch animation that layers on top of whatever you're doing. In previous games, that was disabled during attack animations. But in Elden Ring it isn't, so if you poise through an attack your character's aim gets thrown off.
Bastard sword is underrated. It loses out to the claymore/knight's greatswords in terms of moveset and reach, but it's superior strength scaling makes it hit like a truck. Glad to see it getting some love here. The damage on the jump attacks when dual wielding is scary.
however even then the Banished Knight's Greatsword is still essentially "better". It has lower strength scaling but good enough strength scaling and base damage that it stays ahead of the Bastard Sword for sheer damage. At Heavy +25, 99 strength, the BKG does 785 damage while the Bastard does 783, haha. So it's close, but the BKG is also longer and has the same cool professional moveset as the Knight's Greatsword, whereas the lighter Bastard Sword is swung around like a club. And the BKG only requires 1 more strength, and 1 less dex (17/9 vs Bastard's 16/10). Interestingly though, the Bastard Sword apparently does higher stamina damage (138 vs 132 in the comparison above). All in all I guess I agree that the Bastard is "underrated" in the sense that it's so extremely close to the BKG on a strength build, but in terms of optimized damage output the BKG still wins, while also having a really cool moveset and better reach... but the Bastard Sword does have its own visual style going for it, and is a little lighter.
@@Lessen0 I honestly 100% agree with your assessment. Although I failed to mention it in my OP, I also find it underrated because of how good it is despite being so easy to get very early on.
Not sure how to feel about the bastard sword in Elden Ring. In other games its niche was always that it did more damage than the claymore, but it had the worse moveset. And while that may still be true, the iron greatsword has the same moveset but even more damage, so it makes the bastard sword feel redundant. There is fashion souls though, as the bastard sword looks very clean
With George R. R. Martin as a writing credit I expected more items, names, places, etc. with “bastard” in the title or description compared to what we got.
Love that youre doing more invasions, so much goofy shit can happen like that blue just plunging into the abyss lmao
One of us! One of us!
That invasion at 06:50 was comedic gold. First a blue does what a blue does, and when Chase makes fun of him the screen erupts in a blue flash.
I never facefalmed so hard in my life until that happened.. lmao
Blues to the rescue!
The bastard sword in ng+ continues to surprise me. Highly recommend doing a “cold bastard sword” run. Cause the name is sweet.
Bastard Sword was the weapon i used to beat my first ever souls game, and it was Dark Souls 1. Great memories.
I always enjoyed the invasions more than the duels in weapon showcases, i hope you continue to give invasions the priority.
7:40 is the funniest blue death I’ve ever seen
Love the entertainment of the invasions. Thanks for adding more of them.
7:41 the blue jumping off was fucking hilarious. No beef to all my blues out there.
I wonder if you can counter raptors in the mist with raptors in the mist and then be counter countered with raptors in the mist in an infinite loop.
It works but status effects can make it glitchy for example bleed could stun you into a hit from a test that happened with me and a friend
I want to know if you can deflect a deflection from and Erdtree Greatshield with another Erdtree Greatshield
@@Gargoyle364 No, sadly.

BASTARD SWORD HYPE!!! My favorite weapon in all souls games.
7:38 that is peak PvP
Man blasting that guy down with the cannon and nearly one-shotting the host was so sick.
12:07 THAT'S SOME HITBOX [REDACTED] RIGHT THERE
This weapon fits perfectly with the raging wolf armor set
That first invasion was absolutely beautiful. Made me blurt out laughing at the raptor's ash.
That first invasion was almost poetic - great content brother thanks for the vids i love watching them before I sleep
Now bleed infuse it to get the bloody bastard sword XD
Heavy infusion is just as good xD
The invasion format is awesome. I'm sure it will suit the Ringed Finger perfectly :)
7:38 I almost spit my coffee seeing this
Bastard Sword and Claymore... NEVER CHANGE
Blue jumping off the bridge made me scream laugh
I’m loving the more invasion-heavy format!
love how Chase got flasks donated - courtesy of blue in Haligtree invasion
7:38 lmfao
"Here I come to save the daaaaaaaaayyyyy"
One of the only times I heard Chase swear yet be out of context as well ahahah
The blue summon jumping over you to his death 😂😂
A greatsword named after my friends when im angry! Who wouldnt love it?

7:36 peak hunter gameplay

what quality of life features for co-op? cant really tell tbh
Loving the extra invasions! Always a good time. I am humbly requesting the Ringed Finger and the Eclipse Shotel!
"oh you have a blue 💙👄💙"
"ᴬᴴᴴᴴᴴᴴᴴᴴᴴ"
"oh you HAD a blue 👁️👄👁️"
"oh, you got uh blue... you had uh blue!" I laughed my azz off... classic legend!!
The Hunter who jumped straight to his death gave me a great amount of joy. Love your vids Chase
7:36 this was gold lmao.
chase in duels: ooh thats cool good spacing
chase in invasions: RUN IN TERROR SUNBRO
The absolute state of blues 7:37
the subtle dodge at 12:06 is so cool, went right under it
*Bastard Sword* is actually a longsword....
*Longsword* is actually a bastard sword....
That blue jumping off the cliff had me in tears 😂😂 I was so high watching that and damn near died from laughing so hard I couldn’t breathe 😂😂
ah, bastard sword, you were at my side all along!
Very cool to see more invasions. Amazing blue air attack 🤣
Storm Blade has become one of my favorite Ashes of War since the last patch. It's really good as a replacement for Seppuku on Dual Curved Swords.
Nice showcase as usual. Now what about the poison moth flight Ash of War?

This baby got me through my first ER playthrough (well, the sword and Mimic Tear lol), such a beast
This is exactly like the sword my dad left for me when he went to get cigarettes 20 years ago and never came back.
Every single time I watch these when I’m high and I always just blank out when you’re explain the build then have to skip back and rewatch it
Bastard sword w/ sacred blade is my fav. Use it as the main slashing greatsword on holy builds
15:18
Weird that the foe had the burning death animation.
I recommend St Trina's Torch for it is unobservant
12:07 That hitbox
An early game Greatsword that doesn’t fall off in the late game, it hits hard without being slow, that’s why I love it
Has anyone else noticed that Chase unconciously spins in a circle whenever he's in his menu showing his preset for the video?
10:18 Can somebody tell me what weapon art/ash this is?
Do the Knights Greatsword yet? I love that weapon. Hollowslayer all over again
Ah the blues... that was pure gold.
Thank you for helping my daughter sleep. She’s only three weeks old and I watch your videos when I change and feed her so she’s starting to be comforted when these videos play lol
The screaming of the blue as they plummeted to their death is enough to help any infant sleep

I want to believe the Blue knew it was Chase somehow and acted like he was attacking to nope out.
Great showcase! Loving the invasions at the start!
gotta give it to vaettr, had a really cool build and the fashion to back it up. I like that.
I've had a lot of joy with sword dance on the claymore, might have to put storm blade on it

You and Prod vrs the World would be fun and you guys have to showcase the same weapon but different build!
That blue has to take a minute after that...
I agree, I really enjoy seeing more invasions! Great video as always Chase. 😊

if there’s any way to host a duels tournament and you’re the final boss needs to happen somehow lol

You haven’t used chilling mist in a while. Maybe a hybrid frostbite build?
Man what a nice looking weapon. IMO should have had a unique faster moveset due to being one of the shortest greatswords.
What's aim punch, Chase?
When you get hit but don't stagger, your character's upper body plays a flinch animation that layers on top of whatever you're doing. In previous games, that was disabled during attack animations. But in Elden Ring it isn't, so if you poise through an attack your character's aim gets thrown off.

Hey chase wouldn’t it be better to have high points In dex for dual wielding i Always thought str builds were best 2 handing weapons?
Dex has versatility, Str is more powerful overall IMO. Dex works well alongside Int and Arc best imo. Str does get the bigger bonus for 2H weapons.
Chase I have 100% Elden ring and love PVP but I still find myself preferring DS3 PVP, any thoughts?
I am angry that chase hasn't used the glint stone kriss -Glock Oh,bamma
Anyone know what Chase’s character name is??
Stormcaller is underrated imo
Been rocking the Bastard Sword for PVP for a bit. The one-handed R2 has deceptively long range, I keep catching invaders off-guard with it. XD
Longhaft Axe pretty please Mr. TheBro?
7:38, he Dragon rider DS2 cheesed him.
Loving the invasions. Duels just aint the same as DS3 in terms of entertainment, watching invasions is alot more fun
