I fly my Aeroscout in winds that people pack up and leave for lol. Extremely underrated rc plane by most of the experienced rc pilots. Should be in everyone's hanger.
The Aeroscout is probably the most docile easy to fly R/C plane ever made.
I frequently fly mine on extreme high winds around the California deserts and the bird just stays flying completely under control.
Super airplane it is !

Just a little! LOL, I might skip it today. Same winds are expected and I really don't want to risk any other planes.
Nice flying. I've only flown mine twice so far and you're right, don't be looking at the sun. Second time out I didn't get high enough after take off AND turned toward the sun. Crashed and broke the nose wheel mount and poked a hole. Got it about 75% repaired.

Hey, I have the same plane and I noticed that same delay on the throttle that you were talking about. Until I saw this video, I thought I had screwed up the throttle by trying to calibrate the ESC. Glad it wasn't just me. Aero scout handled the wind great. It's a great trainer!

Great flying, that slow response time on the throttle can be bad if you stall the plane and try to recover. I need to repair my AeroScout...

Wow, I didn't think the Aeroscout could handle that much wind. I usually don't fly with winds over 15 knots, so good to know that it can handle more.
Five or six guys in my RC club out here west of Phoenix have Aeroscouts. During our morning flying sessions, someone always yells "Scout fly ! " Soon a half dozen Scouts are racing around the pattern at full speed...lol. One hell of a versatile little airplane.

They handle good in wind kinda fun to practice landings in the wind. It’s my go to plane when windy. I have fun fighting it to the ground

I wish u could get into the esc and chane the throttle up to no delay. Sure the delay is good for as trainer since it makes u manage your power better ad well as prepare u for more advanced planes (edf, ice motors). But i wish u could disable it for flying in these conditions.

U GOTTA swap out that stock esc. Run up is beyond slow. Great for the beginners.
$10 for a 40 amp, connector-less 3s/4s esc thats a direct replacement for the stock esc on Amazon. (Swap your original connectors. 2mm for motor (3), & ic3/ec3 are all u need. & Soldering skills! 👍)
If it ever fails, I'll have to check out $10 replacements. I wonder what reverse thrust would do for this plane. LOL

ZTW makes a 30a to 80a reversible esc. (I use those in my bigger, powerful 3d birds. Put 1 in a timber x & BL15. It was fun! 😳)

Low wind speed I can go inverted indefinatly
just did the first flight on my aeroscout in 8mph winds, effects it a lot, should i start with intermediate mode? because with beginner, the plane takes so long to turn
Make sure you go to low rates first. 👍

Hopefully, someday you won't be afraid. Do you have a simulator to practice? This hobby is one of the greatest things that I have. 😀🛩👍
@@IJustGotHere yes I have 2 flight simulators but I don't use them much. I have been a model maker for 18 years but of helicopters and fpv drones but with planes I don't know I can't. with helicopters I also do light 3D but with regard to planes I don't get over the fear of landings. I have 5 planes at home fun cub 1410A.A NG , a factory Extra 3mm indoor fuselage , this hobbyzone schout v2 and a balsa Spacewolker 1600 a.a that I made myself, and a fixed wing 800mm but all hanging on the wall .

Trying to resurrect my Scout after a bit of a hiatus since I had bad luck with my tundra = no flying.
I have 3 x spektrum 2200 3s and now only 1 works.
Spektrum twin charger says "are you sure you want to charge without balancer".
Even if I say yes it rejects..
Any thoughts ?
Highly frustrating since the batts aren't cheap, and supposed to be the best.. 🤔

Are they g2 batteries or do they have a balance lead?

And then the smaller orange and three black. I believe that's the balancing lead.. ?
Charger is spmxc1010.
Batts aren't that old. Maybe 12-18mon.
What happens if you plug the balance lead in too?
@@IJustGotHere yes. I plug both the power and balancing lead in, and it says "are you sure you want to charge without balancing.".
I'm careful to put the cables in the same way as the functioning battery.
Just seems awfully unreliable to have 2 of 3 batts fail.
