      Thanks. Just got back in the sticks today after a long winter of no flying. Feels great. The new UMX Turbo Timber Evolution is a awesome plane. I crashed and busted 3/4 wings off the UMX pitts today and with a hot glue gun and 20 mins it was flying just like th day I took it out of the box. Awesome little planes.🤟🥳

      @@davidking3918 What are you trying to figure out?
      I find that simply killing the power(especially in safe mode) and just letting the plane glide. Then slowly flair until it lands is a good way to learn. When we are learning our landings we tend to over think them. I have landed my viper 90, Draco and the f-16 all using this technique with good success.

      @Bill K. Is this your first plane? Even with safe mode it’s a great Idea to get help with the first few flights. just until you can land and takeoff without thinking of it. Hope your back flying soon. a umx is also a great cheap way to get some flight under your belt. they can take a beating and are easy to fix.

    • @BillKisel
      @BillKisel 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FORDEVR no, this is not my first plane. I was flying a bit above my skill level and let the AeroScout get behind me and into the sun. Crashed it straight into the ground.
      Funny you should mention UMX... I have a UMX Turbo Timber that I fly many times more than my other three planes combined. I can step out of my house and and have Acres over which I can fly. I bring my larger planes to the club's flying field which is a short drive away.

    • @FORDEVR
      @FORDEVR  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BillKisel The sun is always a mean lady.😁. Yes The umx are great. I always thought they were not the best planes to fly because they were so small. Then I tried a umx pitts and I was sold on them. So much fun. I use the umx to teach ppl now because they are so fun and tough with a fast charge time and long fly time.

    U can setup the NX10 buddy box on a switch sonu don't have to hold the button in

    • @FORDEVR
      @FORDEVR  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes You can. I just prefer it on the button. then I just let go and fly. It it’s a switch and I get into a tight situation I could hit the wrong switch. With the button there is no mistaking it. Thanks for watching.

    I am not brand new at rc planes but fairly beginner like. I started in November 2022, i will get this in February. Looks easy. I love my pioneer 620mm. Aeroscout is next, since i go through props like crazy on tail draggers. Great flying.

    • @FORDEVR
      @FORDEVR  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. Make sure your tail draggers are trimmed with a bit of up when learning or even better if you can just use a bit of up stick until your up to speed on takeoff. then when you get to speed it should just pop into the air.
      When landing just let it drop and flair at the end. The up elevator you use to flair should help keep your tail on the ground so you don’t go through as many props.
      I trim my wife’s to climb with full throttle so no elevator is nessasary. just hit the throttle and she takes off.
      hope the tips help.
      enjoy your new plane. even though it’s a beginner plane I still enjoy it. flys great and when you move the control surfaces to the inside of the horn it is pretty responsive.👍

    • @FORDEVR
      @FORDEVR  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The right time may not come but right now will.🥰 The trick is having someone trim the plane to fly level. This makes learning waaay easier. I trimmed it to fly level and to climb slightly at full throttle. Then if/when you get into trouble you just hit the throttle and usually this is enough to get you out of trouble. Happy flying.

    Hey I just bought another AeroScout and programmed Reverse thrust in!
    I think we can program that into any avian smart ESC

    • @FORDEVR

      Cool! Is it all stock?

    • @HciContractor
      @HciContractor ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FORDEVR yes. You can program it through the radio. You got to the last of telemetry and it has directions on the menu. Brake type: Pick reverse
      Power 7. Channel 7 is default and then assign it to a switch. I think aux 2 is channel 7. You need to be bound to the plane. I'm using an NX8.

    • @HciContractor
      @HciContractor ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FORDEVR yep. Another guy with an older AeroScout couldn't do it. But these newer scouts have an avian ESC and it's pretty simple to program the ESC through your radio. This little plane floats forever, I need to put some flaps on here to get it down
