It does not have a middle because they want to be different from the MD-11
@@natasharussell6484 this comment was 3 years ago but alr, seems were both kinda wrong because the early DC-10-10 models didnt have it, later on the DC-10-40, MD-10 and MD-11 got the middle gear for more heavy payloads and since the MD-11's fuselage was stretched it needed to have it to cope with the extra weight etc.
