Met some retired team guys who actually helped Charlie Sheen with Navy SEALs movie. Lots of great stories, few of the bars they go to in the movie are still there, still plenty of team guys around. They also said Charlie Sheen was a true wild man.
Look, that movie sucked. I was waiting for it to come out...then...we get a freaking Charlie Sheen vehicle, not a Navy SEALs movie. Sheens character gets his buddy killed because he couldn't keep his cool, yet he's still around? In the final chase scene we learn that one of the SEALs doesn't know how to operate a Stinger? I talked to a custom knifemaker who supplied "some" actual SEALs with his knives back around when this movie came out. He was a friend of another well known actor in the movie, who stated that Sheen was a baby who needed all the attention and constantly annoyed his colleagues. The one fantastic thing about this movie is: Bill Paxton as "God" :)
According to a Fmr. SEAL recently on the Joe Rogan experience, shared he heard some of the actors, specifically Sheen, was doing coke, while doing some training for the movies. For the opening scene, Sheen actually just happened to be on the beach, waking up, hungover. Predator gets a pass for hip firing.
Super shocked to find out the Master Chief in Act of Valor is actually a SEAL. I thought he was a actor for sure. A lot of the guys sound like they are just reading from a script but he freaking nailed it.
Hauled you guys around (and Marin Recon) back in the mid '80s a couple of times - out of Sasebo, and down to Subic. Good times... til someone drove a RHIB into a partially submerged carrier mooring bouey down in Subic... fortunately the training was over and they were jetting back fast to get on the beach (I suspect).... what a mess. Still... good times, great memories. Deepest respects from the SS.
When I was in the Army they called it SEER training, and I went twice. The first time was very "handsy", the second was at Ft Campbell when I was in the 101st, it was lectures, classroom, and we killed, cooked and ate a chicken. This was a nice break from D&C, and weapons maintenance. From the first one there was a little sp4 with a TA-312 that felt the need to "call Hawaii" when I was on "the cross" that today, over 40 years later, if I see him anywhere in this world at any time his sneering smart aleck ass is mine.
@@BlackRifleCoffeeCompany Thank-you for yours, and your videos, and no his "gotta call Hawaii then" puke slime self will wish he was in Hawaii if I see him.
My favorite Navy Seal moment was when we had a Team come to our FOB in Ramadi to apprehend this HVI, they stormed the dudes house, but guess who wasn't home, turned out he was at a funeral in Fallujah. The very next day, walking right by the FOB was this terrorist a'hole. My marines in silkies, boots, and tees grabbed him so quick he didn't know what happened to him. That was the one time my Marines got the better of those SEALS and I'm pretty sure they're still bragging about it, hell I know I am and this was in 2008. Corpsman Up!
UDT shorts is something SF Scuba teams share with SEALs. The most obscenely useless shorts ever created. I still have mine in storage somewhere lol. Good times!
I was behind Charlie Sheen when they filmed the beach scene driving on Atlantic Ave. When the stuntman jumped from the Berkeley Bridge, a friend of mine was driving behind the jeep.
Dude! I saw this movie with my dad and my best friend at that time, for my thirteenth birthday! No, wait. That was Terminator 2, Judgement Day for my thirteenth, and Navy SEALs for my fourteenth, I think. Either way, I remember watching this, then my buddy and I going home and picking through a U.S. Cavalry and Brigade Quartermaster's catalog deciding all of the expensive shit we knew we couldn't afford, but wanted to derive some kind of plan to do it, buy it and make our own special team. He went 82nd, I went 20th SFG and we BOTH hated jumping! I agree that the line, "You don't gotta love it, ya just gotta do it!" got my ass out the door without a fuss just about every time. Thanks for sharing your stories and Act of Valor was a badass movie! I loved the Chief, twisting the nuts off the jihadi trust fund holder, who'd probably stole a few of some suicide bomber's 72 virgins on that boat, and in less than 15 minutes makes him an offer he can't refuse! Hat's off, gents! Well done!
I watched this in theaters When I was 15 , and then I watched it again last night. Their is no fucken way a seal would act like Charlie Sheen's character .

They don't "usually" break stuff during the camp slappy phase. Except when I went through, they inadvertantly fractured a guys neck in a stress position. This guy was an older guard member and was told he had to go due to his DC guard job. Made it through everything and then the second to last day during the slappy phase.... Instructor inadvertently fractured the guys vertebrae at the C4. Guys shoulders went numb and he had a pain.
Love the service and sacrifice everyone brings. No one deserves more respect than a Veteran. How would you react in a situation like The Thing where you can"t trust anyone even your friends?
Hi, England here.... so my favorite military on the ground movie is by real Seal Teams, damn blown away! I never felt the 'acting'. Thanks lads appreciate your insight, God Bless. If you can get a SAS man to join your show, I would love it!
The hardest thing I went through in the USAF was dealing with a man hating bull dk squadron First Sgt (title, not rank) in basic at Lackland. Some guys in other branches I met lovingly called it daycare, but compared to what these SEAL guys went through it was closer to being at home getting hugs from your mother.
13:33 I remember watching this movie at drill. Lamest thing ever but all the officers came out of their hiding places to watch it. First time I saw all of them together. Civilian life sucks wish I had not gotten out .
Interesting note: In the "Navy Seals" clip when the team jumped together out of the back of the C130, it was mentioned that this would not occur, yet Jocko said the exact opposite in his "react" to this same scene and gave a reason for why it was accurate. 🤔
When I was a teenager I got run over by a truck while riding my pedal bike. Spent the summer in a hospital learning how to walk, talk, think and speak all over again. Made some friends there too though: One young man put his single engine Cesna through the trees at the end of the runway... and our other buddy -- He came down with a streamer, no back up chute, and landed in the middle of the buffet tables of his sister's outdoor wedding reception. :-O Each of us used to laugh and laugh at the pain and suffering all of us had suffered! :-D
@@theadventuresofjavier8698 We used to laugh and laugh at each other... I asked Wade (the parachutest) if he and his sister still got along... He shrugged his shoulders in his wheelchair and admitted -with a smile- "The girl hasn't spoken to me since!" We asked Craig (the pilot who was on a walker) what tree bark tastes like... and both of them asked me (supported with a cane) if the underside of that truck was greasy of not! :-D (If you wake up from the coma, it's your God-given right to make bad jokes about your accident!)

Thanks , Black Rifles ! I immediately watch your videos as soon as they appear on my tablet . As a navy vet , Id like to see some more videos about navy films that aren't about SEALs or aviators . I'd reccomend The Sand Pebbles starring Steve McQueen , a film about the Boxer Rebellion in China , The Last Detail starring Jack Nicholson as a Petty Officer taking a seaman to the brig , and Cinderella Liberty starring James Caan as a sailor waiting on orders who falls in love with a prostitute pool hustler .
One Q about the film "Navy Seals" - the group, in the beginning, have to bail on one of their's wedding as they are paged for a rescue mission... are they expected to be ready 24/7/365? Seems like you'd want a time where they can retrain and refresh and have some life, so there'd be a period they could plan a wedding and except for a declaration of war, someone else gets the emergency call.
I love seeing these guys. These 2 are the most unintimidating people ever but are always the most dangerous men in the room. I never study the big tough guys (like Jacko lol) when scanning. its guys like this that get my attention. It's also these men and men who are confident in their skills that are the most meek and down to earth men you can meet.

USS Greeneville was fitted with something called ASDS, or advanced SEAL delivery system. It was basically SDV before SDV existed. The thing was massive, loud, and kept us from going very fast. One caught fire and they decided to Decom the other, and SDV/DDS was created for the SSGN's cuz they didn't want SSN's doing it anymore.

Technically, it was Dane, the sniper, who floated the Coast Guard comment, but there's part of me that would have loved to see Charlie's reaction to that!
I respect the Coast guard, especially those who serve on those little bitty boats that can flip upside down and right themselves in high surf. Wicked shit!
In the Mid 80s, I couldn't see anything with starlight scopes. I preferred my own vision at night. Driving a HMMV, the dirt road looks like the dirt on the side of the road. From the foxhole, if I could get the other guy (enemy) to wave at me I might see them with the scope. Night scopes have improved drastically since starlight.

or even worse, clip from the rock with nic cage and sean connery lmao
John McJunkin saving that for the next seal guys
...next!
@@austinplatt4062 Michael Bay is a saint..A SAINT I tell you :)!
Likely not to discredit or take away the SEAL advisors on set thunder. Lone Survivor Marcus Lutrell was very involved. He even came out on the movie.
Dredd, the Karl Urban one. Not the whole thing, just the drug apartment scene with the super slo-mo explosion and gun shot wounds. That one's for you Rich.🇺🇸👍🇺🇸🤘🇺🇸
Met some retired team guys who actually helped Charlie Sheen with Navy SEALs movie. Lots of great stories, few of the bars they go to in the movie are still there, still plenty of team guys around. They also said Charlie Sheen was a true wild man.
Charlie is awesome!
The interrogation scene was amazing
Thank you for your service and thank you for watching!! And go easy on him lol
@@BlackRifleCoffeeCompany Thank-you for yours, and your videos, and no his "gotta call Hawaii then" puke slime self will wish he was in Hawaii if I see him.
And he was also in "The Unit"...based on the book "Inside Delta Force"
It would be great if you could get Chuck Norris to react to his movies with you guys
Videos react to Chuck Norris
No, it wouldn't :)

@@BlackRifleCoffeeCompany But if you film the episode in Soviet Russian, wouldn´t that even it out?

My favorite Navy Seal moment was when we had a Team come to our FOB in Ramadi to apprehend this HVI, they stormed the dudes house, but guess who wasn't home, turned out he was at a funeral in Fallujah. The very next day, walking right by the FOB was this terrorist a'hole. My marines in silkies, boots, and tees grabbed him so quick he didn't know what happened to him. That was the one time my Marines got the better of those SEALS and I'm pretty sure they're still bragging about it, hell I know I am and this was in 2008. Corpsman Up!
To the devil dogs!
UDT shorts is something SF Scuba teams share with SEALs. The most obscenely useless shorts ever created. I still have mine in storage somewhere lol. Good times!
of all the folks you had there so far, these SEALs really killed it.
loved this episode
"Jesus was a team guy" needs to be a sticker or patch immediately.
I was behind Charlie Sheen when they filmed the beach scene driving on Atlantic Ave. When the stuntman jumped from the Berkeley Bridge, a friend of mine was driving behind the jeep.
Act of Valor was one of my top 5 military movies! Now that I know it was filmed with real Navy Seals!!! 🤯 fuckin epic
A reaction to Aliens ? The Colonial Marine corps are kinda badass in it ! Also fun fact, the actor playing Apone was a former marine and save some of the crew in a malfunction in the armored vehicule...Some automatic response there !
Bring on Marcus Luttrell and react to Lone Survivor! Also bring on Charlie Platoon and react to American Sniper! Oh, and maybe Si Robertson to watch some Vietnam movies, that would be a fun one
07:24 - That is incorrect my man. Mykelti Williamson was an LAPD sergeant in Heat. Dennis Haysbert was the getaway driver.
To the Navy vets, from a Navy vet, THANK YOU for your service!
Hi, England here.... so my favorite military on the ground movie is by real Seal Teams, damn blown away! I never felt the 'acting'. Thanks lads appreciate your insight, God Bless. If you can get a SAS man to join your show, I would love it!
13:25 its cool how both guests look exactly like the two actors

"Any rear gate exit is the Best"
Is that right, Mat?
Proof of Life coulds be a fun movie. From memories the rescue scene was quite good.
My cousin was 720th special tactics unit in the AF. He is a bad mofo.
13:33 I remember watching this movie at drill. Lamest thing ever but all the officers came out of their hiding places to watch it. First time I saw all of them together. Civilian life sucks wish I had not gotten out .
The chief in ‘Navy Seals’ was also in the show ‘The Unit’ so he was a seal and delta
Interesting note: In the "Navy Seals" clip when the team jumped together out of the back of the C130, it was mentioned that this would not occur, yet Jocko said the exact opposite in his "react" to this same scene and gave a reason for why it was accurate. 🤔
i like how they dont trash act of valor as much
i love the movie and i think its very underrated
M134A, I call it the lawnmower. No reason I shouldn't be able to own one
Right on man! You'd only need to mow your yard once with it, then you can open it up as a lead and copper mine.
OMG
@@theadventuresofjavier8698 We used to laugh and laugh at each other... I asked Wade (the parachutest) if he and his sister still got along... He shrugged his shoulders in his wheelchair and admitted -with a smile- "The girl hasn't spoken to me since!" We asked Craig (the pilot who was on a walker) what tree bark tastes like... and both of them asked me (supported with a cane) if the underside of that truck was greasy of not! :-D (If you wake up from the coma, it's your God-given right to make bad jokes about your accident!)
Well not a movie what about the T.V show Seal Team.
I'd be curious to know how accurate it is. It seems relatively legit.
Mash709 theres a few SEALS and a couple SOF guys that are part of the show. One is Mark Owen (SEAL, No Easy Day, Producer), Scott Foxx (SEAL, actor), Mark Semos (SEAL, show writer), Tyler Grey (Delta, Actor/producer), Chase Rivera (Force Recon, stunt double)
It's terrible! Every episode they have brand new kit, no dirt, no scratches, even in the desert. And the lead actor..... well, unconvincing at best.
Mat Parry Really? That’s your critique? Clean kits? Lmao.

I love watching all of the associated BRCC channels. I myself am a cold war veteran who served on a Fleet Ballistic Missile Submarine. Myself and my shipmates had many adventures of which I cannot tell you. If you search you may find stories of Cold War Patriotism!
Act of Valor, about damn time. THANK YOU!!!
Best react show on the internet
Damn right
One Q about the film "Navy Seals" - the group, in the beginning, have to bail on one of their's wedding as they are paged for a rescue mission... are they expected to be ready 24/7/365? Seems like you'd want a time where they can retrain and refresh and have some life, so there'd be a period they could plan a wedding and except for a declaration of war, someone else gets the emergency call.
You should do reactions to the Delta Force with Chuck Norris. Classic 80s action
Hard to beat Navy SEALs like Jack and Trevor. Those guys are badass!!! Hooyah!!!
11:31 were not gonna talk about how well this is timed
them editing skills dawg
I love seeing these guys. These 2 are the most unintimidating people ever but are always the most dangerous men in the room. I never study the big tough guys (like Jacko lol) when scanning. its guys like this that get my attention. It's also these men and men who are confident in their skills that are the most meek and down to earth men you can meet.
1st rule of being a Navy SEAL tell every one that your a Navy SEAL
Until you run into a real seal and get your a.s kicked real good.

FMJ was accurate as fuck for the bootcamp scenes, its pretty much like that, but honestly way more intense in real life lol, Jarhead not so much...

How about a Marine Recon review of Fire Base Gloria, Generation Kill and Heartbreak Ridge
"If I wanted to be careful I would have joined the Coast Guard"
Hmmm, as a BRCC drinker and a retired US Coast Guard Boatswains Mate, I always wanted to take Charlie Sheens pansy arse our for a ride and have him cry like a little girl to be taken back to the dock.
It's a movie... relax
Didn't the Starlight's squeel like stuck pigs when you keyed them?
