Dude! This had got to be one of the nicest looking tanks I’ve seen on TH-cam! I’m so painting mine tonight when I get home. Keep it up love your work and your tutorial are great
Excellently finished. Also, it's very nice tutorial. It's very easy to understand what you wan to do by step by step painting and presentation. Thanks for sharing.
Brilliant model. Love it. But from my point of view,I worked at Bovington Workshop. The Tanks were Base overhauled. And they used to leave the Workshop just like they came off of the production line. So I have to say my preference is for the pristine look. But! Great vid,and it’s what the builder wants to achieve. Great Vid. Lovely Model.
Thanks, its fun to weather the model, I agree with your thoughts, with allied and modern tanks I tend to not weather as extreme as Eastern Front. Thx for watching hope u like my video efforts
What a fantastic finish on this Tiger. Excellent job done on the painting and weathering procedure. Simple steps and easy to follow. Looking forward for your next build. Thanks for sharing, take care and keep up the good work my friend.
@@blackfisktackle cheers, I was happy with result. If you at my videos since you can see how I have tried to improve things. The 2 Tigers models went well though
Fantastic outcome. I’ve just brought the same kit as one of my starter 5/6 kits, id be delighted if i can get to anywhere near this effort - amazing great work
I’m just an average modeller really, the skill element is in using the airbrush and thinned paint the right way, and taking your time. Hope it goes ok.🙂
@@ctscalemodellinguk gosh you’re too modest :), I’ve been seriously thinking about investing in an airbrush system, but I want to get some level of skill with brushes first.
@@liamgray9805 I converted about 2 years ago from brushes. It takes you modelling to another level with pre shading and better modulation. I only buy cheap airbrushes anyway, the same as nightshift .Just takes practice but worth it in the end.
@@liamgray9805 hi, I just brought cheap and stuck with it, my airbrush is a Fengda FE130, 0.2 to 0.5 needles, although other Chinese companies do the same. Need a cleaning kit and a compressor with an air tank, mines 3 litres ( good/bad?) the highest pressure I generally use is 30 psi. You can get kits with everything in on Amazon. I brought a compressor with no tank at first but its difficult to control the pressure. Hope this helps
I’m a huge fan of models, but man is it nice having one you can drive around with a controller. I highly recommend getting like a Henglong RC tank and then painting/ weathering it like this. It is so much nicer than having it just sit on a shelf when you can actually pick it up, drive it around, and shoot Airsoft BBs from it.
Top notch work! I’m in the paint stage on the same kit right now. Would you recommend a varnish coat on the tracks after painting them before weathering? I’ve had issues with paint flaking off rubber tracks when the weathering liquids are applied. Cheers!
Hi, depends on the paint you used, I use mainly Tamiya acrylics, so on tracks I would just weather them. On the main body I would protect the paint and decals as its harder to rectify if it goes wrong. Just building another Tiger at the moment. Hope this helps
Cheers mate, it work out well and wasn’t too bad to achieve. Just doing the Zvezda PzIV G. Doing it in 3 colour camo, same method as I used on my Phantom aircraft build video ( see if it works). Hope your Tiger goes goes ok, think I’ll do another one in 2022. Merry Xmas.
Hoi love the weathering on your tiger and the way you explain how you do all things, we learn so much from each other. My question is, I love your workstation with that turn tabel I call it, where woudt I be able to get one for myself.. thanks Michiel from the Netherlands
Hi, cheers for watching. I do the channel to share what works for me and get decent result without the fuss. The table is just a basic one, ikea type of desk, the paint racks are scrap wood. The turn table thing was from a model show, don’t think there much £€ and are useful. Tamiya do one too which is like a cake stand. Take a look at the other Tiger I video I did too. Thanks again keep safe.
Love the weathering, I just finished building the same tank and will try to go for the same look. I have one question, you use varnish at two stages in your process, what kind of varnishes are you using, gloss or matt?
Hi I tend to use tamiya gloss xf22 I believe then at the end a matt coat. You can use tamiya although I use AK a lot now. I tend to change things as I get more experience. This help?
Looks fantastic, you’ve inspired me to have a go..one question, was the clear coat you applied Gloss or Matt ? sorry for daft question I’m a complete newby 👍🏻
@@johnojohnson177 hi thx for watching, I’m still learning too, I like to show how we can get good results. To protect paint work i would use a gloss coat if applying washes etc or matt if i want to use pigments. Matt is a rougher finish hence pigments stick better however washes dont flow better. I use Tamiya for gloss and ak for matt generally. I have used future aswell which is floor polish, put i find it takes a bit to dry. Hope this helps.
@@ctscalemodellinguk thanks for reply, on this particular model, at the end of the build and paint do you put a Matt finish over it or leave it as is ? sorry for daft question again, I’m just trying to avoid silly mistakes
@@johnojohnson177 thanks, bit of test as its one of my older videos. I tended to use oil paints in the past, recently I have used ak streaking rust which is dark in colour.
wow this tiger looks so good! do you think it would be possible to replicate the hairspray chipping technique somewhat with brush painting? or would that simply not be possible? this one of my favourite model tiger tanks ive seen thank you so much for posting this video :)
Cheers your very kind. For chipping it needs to be a light coat, so it depends on that really. You could try applying an oil wash with a similar colour to the base colour then sponge chip with thinners for an effect. If you look at my latest video the Centurion I do something similar with dust. th-cam.com/video/rbChrPsyDXI/w-d-xo.html
