The blooper reel being made by a cast member, it has the same corny vibe as those video game Easter eggs that are an inside joke or a reference to some “you had to be there” aspect of development. I like it.
But this is a non-official making-of, isn't it? Gotta have some balls leaking stuff from a production. I wouldn't. ever. Not just because of the ball but without asking all the cast from 10 years ago...? Let's say people who bring this leak as a wonderful gift to me may have met some of the fellows from the shooting - and been talking all the time when they met again like: 'You cut that little outtake-teaser for us, do you still have it, should be on youtube, was so nice #OldTimes .. ' best case :-/ You know more, Boss Nass?
The thing that strikes me the most from the clips is just how long of a shoot this movie was. If you watch the clapboards it goes from at least November of 85' to June of 86'. WOW. I assume Rick Moranis' next shoot after this was "Spaceballs."
@Alex McCaffery Labyrinth finished filming in September 1985. A bunch of Creature Shop builders and performers went on to work on this, most notably Lyle Conway.
Can we just appreciate the tiny movements of the puppet’s mouth that just make it come alive? Because gee whiz!!! You can forget that the didn’t hire and actor plant!
Rick Moranis was the PERFECT Seymour. I myself have played Seymour twice (once in high school, and a second time in a community theater production) and I studied EVERYTHING about his performance and watched the movie OBSESSIVELY. I've seen it onstage of course too in NYC & London, but Rick's performance is STILL the best.
I guess it was worth it because the movie received largely positive reviews. The scene with Steve Martin and Bill Murray is my favorite. A dentist that is a sadist and a patient that is a masochist? Perfect!
note the high pitched voice and also if you watch Rick in the background, he appears to be moving faster than normal. This reveals the "undercranking" trick they did: run the film slowly through the camera, then speed it up later to make the puppet seem quicker and more agile. To help the actors lip sync properly, they played a slowed-down version of the dialogue and singing on the set.
This is why I want to be an actor. This is my dream job, and my recommendation if you want a similar experience is to take part in a play with a local theater group, as you will spend hours on end rehearsing and getting to know the rest of the cast and crew, becoming good friends and fooling around.
Shooting Movies are not really fun. LOTS of WAITING and LOTS OF TAKES. It makes some people get really mad. TV shows are even worse because they are shooting none stop and then if you have an audience while taping they get to see the take after take and they also get antsy, there is someone actually telling you as an audience what to do.
I did LSOH with my amateur drama group and JCS, was amazing. Unfortunately, Sweeney Todd already has been cast, with the new amateur drama group, but I'm auditioning to join them for their Xmas concert.
it was mostly likely made of foam rubber, as many puppets of the time were and if it is still around it's probably hardened and if touched would just crumble to just.

6:12 - 6:15 Really needs to made into part of HISHE for this movie. Someone just busts in and shoots the plant while it's singing "Feed Me", until it's covered in holes and can't sing or talk any more.
Or an end where after feeding Audrey 1 to Audrey 2 he walks out of the building while pouring gasoline from inside to out side and then burns the whole shop down with Audrey 2 in it
@@southweststrangla420 The plant gets stronger as it feeds more. It hadn't killed anyone for food yet, so it was probably still susceptible to bullets at this early stage.
