@@damnthatscrazy999 No kidding man. I started playing the game again after 2.0 came out because I couldn't make it past Act 2 just because of the buggy mess. The story felt like a slow burn for a second, then it ramped up like they couldn't wait to wrap the plot up. Still enjoying it, just wish they fleshed out more of the main story and even side stories so we could get more of the lore they dropped on us. Some of the side quests were a lot better than the main quest too. Waiting for Taki to call you for half the missions and then being able to clear those missions in like 5 minutes wasn't that immersive.

Kinda weird how people are interpreting this as an anti-suicide psa. Dude was terminally ill and knew that attempting to fix it would cost the lives of those dear to him. He chose suicide so both he and Johnny could be there when it ends and be fully aware, instead of one or the other fading away for good.
Its definitely not as "bad" of an ending if you rushed through it and didnt get involved with many people. Even at that, though, Vik did everything he could to help you and you still took the easier way out. Maybe its not as bad then since he gave you that choice, but now imagine doing that to everyone else. It's more selfish at that point because its like you threw away whatever help they gave you and didn't even try to do anything else.

Thank you N0 ANIME, your message is important. I had my roommate commit suicide freshmen year, and it destroyed everyone for years. I normally avoid anything that mentions it because of painful memories, but I feel like the way this ending handled it was perfect. It showed the loneliness/desperation that led to it, and the myriad of ways it could impact people.
Sucide only hurts the people around you because, while your pain may last a few seconds, it’s nothing compared to the pain the people you left behind will feel for the rest of their lives.
Oddly enough, my favourite ending is the "do nothing and commit suicide" ending. It gives a different meaning to the entire story. Instead of someone who fights for his life, you actually see someone who has to come to term with his own death (after he was shot in the head). Johnny Silverhand was actually the voice in his head that screamed for life, that made him fear death. As you progress through the story, you see people dying for their dreams, their convictions, but never the way they wanted. Jackie didn't want to die the way he did, Johnny didn't want to die the way he did. They became so blinded by their ambitions and their goals that their lives didn't belong to them anymore (especially Johnny who ended up in someone else's head). As you approach the end of the game, Viktor helps V realize that if he keeps trying to fight the inevitable, he will end up dying like Jackie and Johnny - a miserable death he didn't want. On the roof, V finally comes to term with his own death. Every time he was close to death, it was on someone else's terms. But this time, he had the choice to die on his own terms. In a certain way, it was also a way to fight all the people who were using him for their own gain, like Arasaka. Johnny understood it and realized that there were other ways to fight, but also that what matters isn't how someone lives, but how he dies (remember how he was proud of his life but realized that it meant nothing when there was no grave for him?). And so, V helped Johnny come to term with his own death as well. And so, they were both able to die the way they wanted to live: as free men. P.S: Johnny's substory with his band was basically V giving Johnny the possibility to say goodbye to his old pals, thing he couldn't do when he was still alive.
I disagree, this is the most selfless ending, probably the most ballsy one. You don't put others at risk and go out on your own terms with an incredible view with your doomed companion by your side.

Honestly, this was the first ending I picked. The way I see it, the world of 2077 is an awful place and there was no fixing it. The Corp always wins, and both V and Johnny finally realize that maybe all the fighting isn't worth it anymore near the end of it all, especially not worth sacrificing those closest to you. Especially the slow zoom out of the city with the final shot of V & J sitting peacefully together really signifies that whatever happens, the world is stuck on the course decided by powers beyond us. This ending to me really vibes with the dark and nihilist nature of the world of Cyberpunk and is a fitting ending to V's story. Well it's a tie for me between the fame ending tbh.
Capitalism is the issue with the real world too. But we have a chance to fight back and for a better future. A revolution of the masses. Just have hope. Sometimes I think about ending it all but hope for a socialist future keeps me going

Best ending. Its not the happiest, but who says good endings have to be happy? Good endings serve as a lesson (an eye opener, a motivator or a warning). And I guess I liked the black mirror style of that ending.
I guess that is why I fell in love with CDPR. I was always expecting the happiest ending, than I got stuck with the space ending. When I first played witcher3, I had the worst ending as well (was expecting the happiest one). CDPR always seems to find a way to mindfuck me in the end.

Being remembered is more than the amount of people who know your name, it's about the impact you have on the people closest to you. V realizing that and leaving night city to live out the rest of his days with his newfound family is definitely meaningful.

When I was in my unit, I met a kid who was still in training. I was coming in for a quick lunch in the dining facility, and on the weekends the trainee kids ate in the regular active duty dining. He sat with me and we ate together, talked, got to know each other. Later found out that he was coming to my team. He was a good kid, but I didn't get to know him all that well. I was on my out of the service a year later. But we were friends on facebook. I didn't think about him much until a year ago, when he was tagged by his family. He died. I looked in the posts and the obituary, but nowhere did it say what the cause was. I reached out to his family and asked what happened, but they just said they hadn't been told by the medical examiner yet. I never did find out what happened. It was never mentioned in the funeral posts, and his family didn't give me any more details than I could glean. But a friend of mine suggested it might have been self-inflicted. If he did do it, I wonder if he would have still done if he knew how hard it would hit his friends and family...or if he wouldn't care.
Worst ending? For me, this is the more appropriate ending considering the desperate situation; the most elemental decision. V should not drag anyone into danger over a problem that only affects him/her. The man who kills a man, kills a man. The man who kills himself kills all men. As for him, he erases the world with a stroke of the pen.
Suicide may have seem like the valid option to pick at times, but the after effects of it is catastrophic. One does not live to see the consequences of such, nor gain closure cutting off life so quickly in a scenario like this anyway. That’s just my take though.
This ending really makes me feel like you lost to Night City. The way it slowly pans out to the heartless, uncaring city, then bang. You're just another victim of the endless cycle.
Knowing the gist of all endings ahead, I kept pushing this one back thinking it'd bring nothing over the action-packed ones-I was wrong. From the way Johnny simply accepts V's decision and stays by V's side to the different reactions of V's friends during the credits…I was left heartbroken and humbled by what I'd just experienced. This is the only ending that doesn't have any rewards or achievement, I think that drives home the message of devs about suicide. If you ever think about giving up, consider coming back to this video then seek help. (PS: This ending isn't called "worst/bad" because it sucks, it's just colloquially referred to as such because it's the quickest ending and you get no rewards!)
I think this ending is the only ending that sets V and Johnny free. Other endings either V or Johnny have to be locked in a digitized world but in this ending nothing can stricts your body or your mind, you both set them free.
Suicide is NOT a solution. In Panam's ending you gonna leave the city alive, with a family, and keep fightin' for life. And in life, you also have that option
Well just like other people i assume, I've been playing this game nonstop in all my freetime. Plus the main story is really short compared to the rest of the game as most of the side quest are just filler except for the Johnny, Panam, and Judy side quest.
When I saw this ending, I had a feeling that those NPCs aren't talking to V, but they are talking personally to you, so you can see what you have done with your decision 😓
@William Shakespeare I think the Nomad ending is the one with the happiest ending. V getting the chance to leave Night City and return to his old way of life for the rest of his days. Maybe in the DLC they will give players a happy ending, although idk how that would work for the players who decided to finish on the suicide ending

People who are going through dark times could really take something from this You may only see darkness but the people around are trying to pull you towards the light and if you really dive deeper into said darkness... well all you're really doing is pulling those people into it with you. I off myself to get the game over with. I was so disappointment with all the broken promises. Life path does nothing just changes how you meet Jackie and dialogue. Making Keanu Reeves the focus of the game ruined the whole idea of having control of your own destiny. Should’ve made him a villain. A mercenary hired to kill you through out the game.
Yeah the pacing of the game was off. I was level 24 when I ended the game with this ending. SUch an immersion breaker to do all the side content while the main story is so urgent and demanding your attention. Main story was pretty poorly written and in general the whole games structure and pacing is completely out of whack. Big disappointment.
Lucky me. My "first ending" was Devil ending which I chose by accident and reloaded before I went through with it. Was going for Panam and right before the phone call I saw two choices and thought to myself. "Who is Hanako again?" (STML) *click* Shet.
I like how this ending also serves as a kinda “you fucked up” or “YOUR CHOICES HAVE CONSEQUENCES” ending. Can be a real wake up call. One of the strongest endings ever. Going from wanting to become a legend, pulling off the biggest heist ever, to offing yourself because it’s the best option. Wild
I chose the upload ending, and damn I felt like it hit me JUST the way it was planned to. Ended the game with a sense of hope, and was sitting there like what is next? And boom. Nothing.

panam has a tough protective shell, the same one you slowly peel away as you romance her. she has no other way of processing the sheer devastation she feels other than going back into her shell completely. her grief is immeasurable, but you could tell after the venting, hearing her soft "bye" tells you she burst into absolute tears when the holo hung up. tough ending
As someone who goes through suicidal thoughts who's come close the messages afterwards really bring it close to home how sometimes little things you've done really affect people. It's a insight a lot of people who have those thoughts should think about.
Suicide is never the answer but even though this is a bad ending, in my opinion it is the best ending of all others (except the secret one maybe) the 3rd person closure scene with Johnny is a happy one and he "understood" why V did it. Some might say that by getting this ending we dont get to defeat Arasaka, but even in the legend ending we never "really" defeated Arasaka or any other corp for that matter. The voicemails from V's friends during the credits made me tear up and I realised that going down as a legend doesnt matter, all that matters is being with your friends and loved ones who truly care about you, Vik is a living example that you can be happy by living a quite life. During the journey V helped so many people and made friends, V's suicide made them realise that V had made such impact on their lives and was a good person which makes this ending oddly bittersweet.
Yeah, there really are no happy endings in this game for V. Other than being with Panam/Judy for the last months of life. Johnny doesn’t even get a happy ending. People around him die and he becomes a much better person because of it. Then V takes the blame for disappearing.

How is this the worst, The worst is Arasaka one when you get them to help you. Johnny and all your friends ends up hating your guts really. To be honest this is one of the better endings, It wasnt V offing him/herself out of emotional state in all of it. It was the least bloody way and one way they both could be aware, V took the smartest way in this ending. "Am I worth their sacrifice, Are you?" that quote has way more touch into it. Not the worst ending it was the most peaceful and better endings.
Had the same thought. But.... There is a suicide run ending. Both are still aware and no friends die. But it looks like it would brutal to actually succeed.
@@lobal2 man I’m level 48 when I finished the game and I can one shot anyone with my revolver build, but getting to the secret ending is hard since I messed up its conditions, I have to replay it to get to it again. Oh well I would’ve choose that secret mission and let Johnny take my body because I’m dying anyway.

And as we found out in other endings, many people die just for this case. But is this case right? Maybe. Maybe for V. But what about people who died? They wont come back. So here is most important question: Would you sacrifice yourself and save your closest? Or would you still go to war with your friends but with risk most off them will die?

Are you?” I know a lot of people consider this ending to be the worst option, but I think that this option, and the one with just you and Johnny taking down Arasaka are the best two options. Like V says themself, it’s the “least bloodiest, cleanest option.” My view on this ending might just be because I don’t particularly like games having cliche, sappy, happy endings, but I still think this option and the (Don’t Fear) The Reaper ending are the best.
I accidentally chose this ending because I thought it would lead to me heading to mikoshi, I was so shocked and the messages during the credits hit me so hard

In my opinion panam's ending is the worst one. Bobby, Saul and many nomads die because of you, just to help you, and in the end it doesn't even matter since you're gonna die in 6 months anyways. This is probably the best ending after the secret one, where you just storm into Arasaka by yourself putting your close ones away from danger

Thank you N0 ANIME, your message is important. I had my roommate commit suicide freshmen year, and it destroyed everyone for years. I normally avoid anything that mentions it because of painful memories, but I feel like the way this ending handled it was perfect. It showed the loneliness/desperation that led to it, and the myriad of ways it could impact people.

Sucide only hurts the people around you because, while your pain may last a few seconds, it’s nothing compared to the pain the people you left behind will feel for the rest of their lives.
Oddly enough, my favourite ending is the "do nothing and commit suicide" ending. It gives a different meaning to the entire story.
Instead of someone who fights for his life, you actually see someone who has to come to term with his own death (after he was shot in the head). Johnny Silverhand was actually the voice in his head that screamed for life, that made him fear death. As you progress through the story, you see people dying for their dreams, their convictions, but never the way they wanted. Jackie didn't want to die the way he did, Johnny didn't want to die the way he did. They became so blinded by their ambitions and their goals that their lives didn't belong to them anymore (especially Johnny who ended up in someone else's head).
As you approach the end of the game, Viktor helps V realize that if he keeps trying to fight the inevitable, he will end up dying like Jackie and Johnny - a miserable death he didn't want.
On the roof, V finally comes to term with his own death. Every time he was close to death, it was on someone else's terms. But this time, he had the choice to die on his own terms. In a certain way, it was also a way to fight all the people who were using him for their own gain, like Arasaka. Johnny understood it and realized that there were other ways to fight, but also that what matters isn't how someone lives, but how he dies (remember how he was proud of his life but realized that it meant nothing when there was no grave for him?).
And so, V helped Johnny come to term with his own death as well. And so, they were both able to die the way they wanted to live: as free men.
P.S: Johnny's substory with his band was basically V giving Johnny the possibility to say goodbye to his old pals, thing he couldn't do when he was still alive.

I disagree, this is the most selfless ending, probably the most ballsy one. You don't put others at risk and go out on your own terms with an incredible view with your doomed companion by your side.
Technically the secret ending is better in terms of selflessness. You do it yourself without and still take arasoka down

Honestly, this was the first ending I picked. The way I see it, the world of 2077 is an awful place and there was no fixing it. The Corp always wins, and both V and Johnny finally realize that maybe all the fighting isn't worth it anymore near the end of it all, especially not worth sacrificing those closest to you.
Especially the slow zoom out of the city with the final shot of V & J sitting peacefully together really signifies that whatever happens, the world is stuck on the course decided by powers beyond us.
This ending to me really vibes with the dark and nihilist nature of the world of Cyberpunk and is a fitting ending to V's story. Well it's a tie for me between the fame ending tbh.

Best ending. Its not the happiest, but who says good endings have to be happy? Good endings serve as a lesson (an eye opener, a motivator or a warning). And I guess I liked the black mirror style of that ending.

I guess that is why I fell in love with CDPR. I was always expecting the happiest ending, than I got stuck with the space ending. When I first played witcher3, I had the worst ending as well (was expecting the happiest one). CDPR always seems to find a way to mindfuck me in the end.

Being remembered is more than the amount of people who know your name, it's about the impact you have on the people closest to you. V realizing that and leaving night city to live out the rest of his days with his newfound family is definitely meaningful.

When I was in my unit, I met a kid who was still in training. I was coming in for a quick lunch in the dining facility, and on the weekends the trainee kids ate in the regular active duty dining. He sat with me and we ate together, talked, got to know each other. Later found out that he was coming to my team. He was a good kid, but I didn't get to know him all that well. I was on my out of the service a year later. But we were friends on facebook. I didn't think about him much until a year ago, when he was tagged by his family. He died. I looked in the posts and the obituary, but nowhere did it say what the cause was. I reached out to his family and asked what happened, but they just said they hadn't been told by the medical examiner yet.
I never did find out what happened. It was never mentioned in the funeral posts, and his family didn't give me any more details than I could glean. But a friend of mine suggested it might have been self-inflicted. If he did do it, I wonder if he would have still done if he knew how hard it would hit his friends and family...or if he wouldn't care.
If they said this was the "canon" ending. I honestly wouldn't be that angry. Seems the most real.

Worst ending? For me, this is the more appropriate ending considering the desperate situation; the most elemental decision. V should not drag anyone into danger over a problem that only affects him/her.

Suicide may have seem like the valid option to pick at times, but the after effects of it is catastrophic. One does not live to see the consequences of such, nor gain closure cutting off life so quickly in a scenario like this anyway.
That’s just my take though.
This ending really makes me feel like you lost to Night City. The way it slowly pans out to the heartless, uncaring city, then bang. You're just another victim of the endless cycle.

Knowing the gist of all endings ahead, I kept pushing this one back thinking it'd bring nothing over the action-packed ones-I was wrong.
From the way Johnny simply accepts V's decision and stays by V's side to the different reactions of V's friends during the credits…I was left heartbroken and humbled by what I'd just experienced.
This is the only ending that doesn't have any rewards or achievement, I think that drives home the message of devs about suicide.
If you ever think about giving up, consider coming back to this video then seek help.
(PS: This ending isn't called "worst/bad" because it sucks, it's just colloquially referred to as such because it's the quickest ending and you get no rewards!)

I think this ending is the only ending that sets V and Johnny free. Other endings either V or Johnny have to be locked in a digitized world but in this ending nothing can stricts your body or your mind, you both set them free.
Suicide is NOT a solution. In Panam's ending you gonna leave the city alive, with a family, and keep fightin' for life. And in life, you also have that option

Well just like other people i assume, I've been playing this game nonstop in all my freetime. Plus the main story is really short compared to the rest of the game as most of the side quest are just filler except for the Johnny, Panam, and Judy side quest.

Maybe in the DLC they will give players a happy ending, although idk how that would work for the players who decided to finish on the suicide ending

I off myself to get the game over with. I was so disappointment with all the broken promises. Life path does nothing just changes how you meet Jackie and dialogue. Making Keanu Reeves the focus of the game ruined the whole idea of having control of your own destiny. Should’ve made him a villain. A mercenary hired to kill you through out the game.
Yeah the pacing of the game was off. I was level 24 when I ended the game with this ending. SUch an immersion breaker to do all the side content while the main story is so urgent and demanding your attention. Main story was pretty poorly written and in general the whole games structure and pacing is completely out of whack. Big disappointment.

I like how this ending also serves as a kinda “you fucked up” or “YOUR CHOICES HAVE CONSEQUENCES” ending. Can be a real wake up call. One of the strongest endings ever. Going from wanting to become a legend, pulling off the biggest heist ever, to offing yourself because it’s the best option. Wild
I chose the upload ending, and damn I felt like it hit me JUST the way it was planned to. Ended the game with a sense of hope, and was sitting there like what is next? And boom. Nothing.

@@icechaind9321 just finished and chose that option, you start singing as you walk to the exit of the station, when leaving the camera shows your character and you rip the necklace with the bullet off and then it ends. honestly i think mine was the worst ending, in this one you choose death. in mine you get built up with so much hope and either choose to give away your freedom or be forced to die alone.

Dang Panam's message felt absolutely brutal...
panam has a tough protective shell, the same one you slowly peel away as you romance her. she has no other way of processing the sheer devastation she feels other than going back into her shell completely. her grief is immeasurable, but you could tell after the venting, hearing her soft "bye" tells you she burst into absolute tears when the holo hung up. tough ending

As someone who goes through suicidal thoughts who's come close the messages afterwards really bring it close to home how sometimes little things you've done really affect people. It's a insight a lot of people who have those thoughts should think about.
Suicide is never the answer but even though this is a bad ending, in my opinion it is the best ending of all others (except the secret one maybe) the 3rd person closure scene with Johnny is a happy one and he "understood" why V did it.
Some might say that by getting this ending we dont get to defeat Arasaka, but even in the legend ending we never "really" defeated Arasaka or any other corp for that matter.
The voicemails from V's friends during the credits made me tear up and I realised that going down as a legend doesnt matter, all that matters is being with your friends and loved ones who truly care about you, Vik is a living example that you can be happy by living a quite life. During the journey V helped so many people and made friends, V's suicide made them realise that V had made such impact on their lives and was a good person which makes this ending oddly bittersweet.
Yeah, there really are no happy endings in this game for V. Other than being with Panam/Judy for the last months of life. Johnny doesn’t even get a happy ending. People around him die and he becomes a much better person because of it. Then V takes the blame for disappearing.

How is this the worst, The worst is Arasaka one when you get them to help you. Johnny and all your friends ends up hating your guts really.
To be honest this is one of the better endings, It wasnt V offing him/herself out of emotional state in all of it. It was the least bloody way and one way they both could be aware, V took the smartest way in this ending. "Am I worth their sacrifice, Are you?" that quote has way more touch into it. Not the worst ending it was the most peaceful and better endings.

There is a suicide run ending. Both are still aware and no friends die. But it looks like it would brutal to actually succeed.
@@lobal2 man I’m level 48 when I finished the game and I can one shot anyone with my revolver build, but getting to the secret ending is hard since I messed up its conditions, I have to replay it to get to it again. Oh well I would’ve choose that secret mission and let Johnny take my body because I’m dying anyway.

Morally that was best ending. Its wrong to ask our closest for favours from which they can die. And as we found out in other endings, many people die just for this case. But is this case right? Maybe. Maybe for V. But what about people who died? They wont come back. So here is most important question:
Would you sacrifice yourself and save your closest? Or would you still go to war with your friends but with risk most off them will die?
Ok so Panam, Judy, River, Johnny, (and a few dozen other people) that ask you for favors that might result in your death are all the worst.

I know a lot of people consider this ending to be the worst option, but I think that this option, and the one with just you and Johnny taking down Arasaka are the best two options. Like V says themself, it’s the “least bloodiest, cleanest option.” My view on this ending might just be because I don’t particularly like games having cliche, sappy, happy endings, but I still think this option and the (Don’t Fear) The Reaper ending are the best.

In my opinion panam's ending is the worst one. Bobby, Saul and many nomads die because of you, just to help you, and in the end it doesn't even matter since you're gonna die in 6 months anyways.
This is probably the best ending after the secret one, where you just storm into Arasaka by yourself putting your close ones away from danger
