.hack gu had some of the hardest music from a game you'll hear. 19:37 was the bgm i had playing on my menu screen. it's so beautiful and at the same time powerful, i absolutely loved it.
@@DCBN76 same. Too bad the new volume they added to the newer version ended on a sour note for me. Not story wise, but gameplay wise. You get yet another awesome upgrade and you can't even really use it cause there are no areas you can use it in.

I played the original games when they dropped on PS2 years ago, so it was a no brainer I'd get it, regardless of what all was added, but the way it ended with the world coming to an end and you could only use a certain amount of area words to create an area that matches your level was in my opinion kinda dumb. You got a new transformation. You got ovan as an ally and others, but what was the point if there was no challenge when you played? It's a minor gripe, cause I could still replay the game right now with how much I loved the series, but with that being the last thing they was gonna do for GU, they should've ended it with a bang and it was a whimper.

へー同時期って聞いてたから初知り
SAOは2001年からWeb小説で書き始め、2002年〜2008年まで公開されてましたが小説刊行にあたり閉鎖しており現在もWeb公開はなし、初小説刊行は2009年4月。
.hackは2002年にアニメ(4月)ゲーム(6月)漫画(1月)小説(10月)という形でのメディアミックス展開だった為、SAOの方が歴史は長いです。
ただ一般的には先に知名度があったのは.hackが先かと思います、2001年からやっとネットの高速化、定額料金化、常時接続化が普及し始めたくらいなので。
