Simplifying imaginary numbers to higher exponents

- www.freemathvideos.com In this video tutorial I show you how simplify imaginary numbers to a higher power. When working with imaginary numbers we notice that the value of imaginary numbers repeat after the degree 4. Therefore when we have an imaginary number to a power larger than 4 we divide that number by 4 and using the remainder as the power to evaluate the complex number.
i^ 15 , i^ 21, i^ 52, i^ 34
thank you for doing what my A2 teacher couldnt
you are very welcome Walie!
Right
Facts cuz I feel like every algebra 2 teacher doesn't know what there doing except this guy he has helped me since 6th grade I'm in 10 th now with algebra 2 honors
Same, my math 2 teacher literally just told us to write down what was on the board and didn't really explain it🥲
For me it was my
-Geometry teacher
-Algebra Teacher
-Algebra 2 teacher
You are saving my highschool career

I love how these videos are filmed in an active class setting. I'm studying solely online and rely on videos to grasp specific topics. Finding your videos being filmed in class makes it feel as if I'm actually in a class setting for once which somehow makes me grasp what you're teaching even more.
I wish I could've seen the glory of that nice jacket in person 😔

You are very welcome!!
So, how did your SAT's go?
same, I'm studying for my ACT rn and these imaginary numbers are a struggle...
I just wanna say "THANK YOU" this literally saved me💕❤⭐
lol I love how I understand so much quicker when someone know what there talking about and not just reading out of a textbook thank you

You are an excellent teacher. I wish I had you as a teacher in high school. Continue teaching you to have a unique way of teaching
You have always been of great help sir... Thanks a lot.... You helped me with lots of my doubts.
You posted this 8 years ago and i just solved my hw with ur method ur a king
omg that remainder method works so good, tysm Mr. Mclogan! This helped so much with my test!
SIR, YOU HELP ME A LOT THO. I WISH TO MEET YOU SOMEWHERE IN THIS WORLD JUST TO SAY THANK YOU
Can’t believe this is my 3rd year of high school and just know discovering this, these videos are awesome!
Thank you I really need to pay attention in class I do love math but sometimes the teacher goes over stuff I already know and I was like I already know this imma just be on my phone I have a test Monday you are a life saver thank you.
You’re actually a genius
I was struggling so bad and now I get it thank you !!

Thank you for such a good and easy to understand explaination watching it from zambia
Thank you sir it wasnt clicking my mind... but when i saw yor video it just clicked my mind 🤍✌🏼tysm sir ✌🏼
what if the exponent is negative? do you put it as the denominator under 1? like would i^-27 be 1/i^3?
Complete goat. Thanks so much.
i have an engineering test tomorrow. i was so confused cus they didn't teach this proprly i love you so much bro
This is fire thank you
just wanna give a shout out to Chris with the handclap, that was most definitely me in school Chris. you're not alone. Anyway, thanks for these videos Teach.

Thank you so much I finally understand it!
Thanx! This Really Helped!

Great explanation 👏
Very good teaching
Love from India
My school needs a math teacher like u
how do you know when their is a reminder?
could u use long division instead
Thank you so much sir!
Does it still work if the power is negative?
your my savior!
you saved my grades sir thank you!
Nice sir you are brilliant 👍👍👍
He explained better than my algebra teacher did
thank you sooo much, my teacher only told us to divide by 4 and find the remainder without explaining why it works
For the remainder of 0, couldn't you just say that any number with an exponent 0 equals 1? Therefore, i^52 = i^0 = 1.
indeed
Thank you so much sir its helps me alot
Thank you very much sir🙏🙏
What about i^567439 ? I've heard people saying it's 3 but.. how do we get it ?
567439 ÷ 4 = 14189 with R 3
well my way of doing it is, putting it in a calculator which is
567439 ÷ 4 = 14189.75
0.75 = 3 / 4 which means the remainder is 3

very helpful, thank you
Hey which grade is this for in U.S just wanna see if its taught early or late than us indian students
It was vague in class but you made it all clear, thank you #respect
I wich you were my biology teacher too hehe
I been learning from you in my precalculus class, not from my actual teacher
I LOVE YOU
way better than my actual math teacher
Hello Mr. McLogan, I have a question
How do I solve ( i ) raised to the power of 3/2
To be specific the question is found in my text book, the subject is square roots for complex numbers and its asked this way
Put the complex number: c= i raised to the power 3/2
So follow the rules of fractional powers. X^(3/2)= 3root(x^2) so i^2 is -1 and the cube root of -1 is -1
OMG!! you saved my butt!! thank you!!!!
Great trick Thanks)
Hi, Thank youuu so much!!
this helped soooo much
BRO THANK YOU
U are the best
THANK YOU
Thank you so much I have finals tomorrow so I gotta prep!
"i^21"
How'd you get the remainder of one in this equation?
Thank you 🙏
woooow thank you! my teacher was like yeah i^52 is 1 you know?
can everything be divided by 4
Thanks Ive learn alot
