First, the attention to detail? Amazing. Second, I love you you showed the spirits/moral/mindset of the soldiers uniforms throughout the video. For example, 1941, the POW is tired, terrified, basically just defeated physically as well as mentally. The 1942 winter outside Stalingrad uniform shows how horrific the situation is in Stalingrad. Death is common, moral is very low. Essentially, all you can do is fight and hope to survive. Around Winter of 1944, things pick up. The Red Army has pushed the Germans out of the U.S.S.R, and is liberating other counties swallowed by the Eagle. As such, he is much more confident, with his posture and the way he walks. Amazing video overall, you inspired me to get all my uniforms and medals.

I love the uniform style, I would love to see a common Russian front uniform style and type of ww1 that were issued to the men, would be awsome personally.^^
For awhile I thought they were for tradition but after a bit of research I found out they are there for cavalry. It came from Poland form the 1920 to allow space for the thighs and hips so they move around the horse and they kept the lower half tight so it wont get caught on the stirrups. They the just became a thing some how. I have a 1943 uniform and I must say they do help with running your hips can move way more than if you were wearing jeans. 1. No, they didn’t. That was an experiment that very quickly got discontinued after they often went for their own tanks 2. The dog is clearly a company mascot of sorts 3. The Soviets would generally use larger dogs for the previously mentioned experiment such as Huskies.

I heard that the Red army considered helmets to be "cowardly", and a Ushanka or Pilotka hat is definitely lighter than a helmet when running around. Not to mention Red Army soldiers wanted maximum mobility in battle, which is the reason why you see Red Army soldiers with barely any equipment when fighting.
