- I used Totachi 5W40 Premium Diesel Fully Synthetic engine oil last year. In just 8k km and 10 months, the oil has deteriorated. I should not have waited for one year or 10k km before replacing the oil. There really is no exact formula or rule on when to change your engine oil. It varies on how you use your car.
It was hard to source the same Totachi oil so I opted to go for Motul CRDi 5W40 100% Synthetic motor oil. The same brand of oil that Subaru Philippines uses for its cars. With this oil, I will be able to compare it against my experience with Totachi.
Ford ranger owner here. 5w30 diesel engine oil acea A5/B5 ang oil para sa ford diesel engine as per manual. Also sa mga modern diesel engines, may egr valve na nagpapasok ng exhaust gas pabalik sa intake for better emmision. Pero ang downside is mabilis talaga umitim ang langis. Actually maganda performance ng totachi kung ibabase ko sa itsura ng langis. Getting a black oil NA WITHIN SA CHANGE OIL INTERVALS means yung mga soot na galing sa egr mo ay nahohold nya ng maayos at hindi naiiwan sa loob ng engine ( creating sludge). Mahirap ang malinis na langis within sa service intervals. Hehehe it means lahat ng dumi naiwan sa loob ng makina mo. Pero tama yan sir. Palitan mo nlng ng mas maaga. And use the right kind of oil as per manual indicates. Both totachi and motul are reputable oil brand.
Pwede mo din iba disable ang EGR mo with proper modification. ( Ecu remap at egr blanking plate. ) Less ang pagdumi ng langis kasi di na nakakapasok ang soot pabalik sa intake)
If u want itest sa lab ,hindi po pwede yan makita sa feel or hawak lang , the best way to judge is to test it sa independent laboratory like monarch, ang vlog na to pro motul naman 😅 hindi natin pwede sabihin nagdeteriorate ng walang lab result ang isang oil, any brand unless pinatest. Been through a lot of oil company,before we make a comment we make sure to test it sa laboratoryo if kung pwede pa ka extend interval yan ang tamang result may resibo hindi yung hula lang , hinawakan at tingin lang 😊.
For me kahit mumurahin na synthetic oil basta change oil every 5k kms or 6 mos mas safe. Pag nag iba na takbo ng makina meaning deteriorated na oil. Then sundin ang mas prefer na viscosity as per owners manual kasi marami siyang ranges ng viscosity pero may preferred talaga na viscosity para sa unit.
Kung ssundin mo ung 10k km bossing every 6 months nagpapalit dn nang oil filter, fully synthetic may cleaning component maiipon tlaga yan at makkita mo ung mga prang sand na snsabi nyo po, xmpre magbabawas ung oil mo need tlaga mag top up po, i know naman alam nyo po ito kasi sa casa mostly gnwa nila my top up period every 5k km if fully synthetic ung oil na nilagay
base sa exp ko sir.. lumagpas ako ng 6 months cguro nasa almost 7 months at ayun na nga vibration sa makina.. so ang ginawa ko either 6months or 10k kms na talaga ako nagpapalit and nawala ang vibration... btw im using motul crdi 5w30 mas smooth sya compare sa 5w40 :)

Mas okay sir kung 5W-30 mas magaan ng konti sa engine ni eve. Na try ko din 5W-40 and lumakas sa diesel since nag work ang engine kasi medyo mas mabigat siya sa 5W-30. Maganda sir yung amsoil and ravenol.

The problem Its not the oil brand, refer to your owners manual kung anong classification ng oil ang pwede sa makina mo no matter what the brand is.
Naka high quality oil ka nga pero di naman pwede sa makina mo yung oil additives na andun sa oil brand na yun, eh parang gumamit ka rin lang ng pekeng oil.
Ang claim kase up to 10k km, yan ang sagad sa mga fully synthetic oils under the least stress/load sa engine. As per your statement, your unit is being used mostly in city driving - which is stop and go, traffic, babad sa init ang makina. I don’t if it applies to Ford vehicles, I would assume it is. Kase most car brands have maintenance schedules under normal or severe use. Tropical country tayo with lots of traffic kaya ang mga sasakyan natin dito classified under severe usage. Ang pinaka secure na basehan kung kelan ka magcchange oil ay ang running hours ng makina - ganyan icheck ng mga heavy duty diesel technician ang mga diesel engine. Pero all in all as an owner, at the end of the day it your choice and discretion. I use fully synthetic oil in all of my vehicles from small cc scooters to vans, cars and trucks. Lahat yan palit every six months regardless of the mileage. Kase ang naooverlook ng mga car owners at ang benefits ng fully synthetic oils aside from longer duration. Pag naka fully synthetic ka mas magaan sa engine kase lower weight viscosity, mas less ang wear and tear due to added additives, better fuel economy, more chemically stable oil less degradation. Kaya if your priority is longevity and performance of your vehicle use fully synthetic oils within reasonable mileage.

@@TeamDyTV You are very welcome sir, and as per your case, the 3.2 diesel engine of the Ford Everest is an inline 5 engine. If you compare it sa mga competitors niya gaya ng Toyota 1GD-FTV, Mitsubishi 4N15, Nissan YD25ddti, Isuzu 4JJ3, iba talaga ang init na napproduce niya na heat given the additional piston. Yang kaseng mga Japanese mga de-kwatro kaya thermally efficient. Kaya as per my experience owning different car brands in three different countries (US, Canada, Philippines), mga fully synthetic 7k km ang sagad bago ako mag change oil. Maganda talaga yang Motul brand sir for your Everest di ka magsisisi.
Valvoline fully syntetic matagal umitim 9,500 kms yung mobil delvac madaling umitim compare to valvoline at madulas kahit almost 10k kms

Wala ako problema sa Shell Helix always 10k ang change oil gamit ng Ford balintawak ,kaya lang last changes oil ko kay Dunamis walang stock na Shell kaya Motul din ang ginamit ko.

2012 hilux ko 230k km. 10 or 6months which ever comes 1st alagang motul. until now brakepads palang napalitan at atf haha

1st try ko sa totachi nag iba ang power ng ford territory at Nv350 premium namin naging tahimik ang engine at lumakas ang power iwan ko po ung review nyo kung tama ba fully synthetic din gamit ko.
yes, maganda totachi sa umpisa, pero pagdating ng 8k kms, gumaspang na, first ko gumamit ng totachi, that's why i am asking normal ba na mag deteriorate na at around 8k kms, that's the whole point of this vlog. right now i'm observing the Motul.
