Looks to be a good improvement over the 1st gen, however it should not be referred as a SatNav, it is a Navigation Aid that requires your phone and data to work. App based products have a fatal flaw if/when the app is no longer supported.
if you are in "speed" mode, navigating to a certain location, before making a conversion the display switches to map mode and then returns to speed mode?
Can the display show speed?
Yes. It has a built in accelerometer.
Does the app provide voice commands?
Yes, but through a subscription.
If you want something small then sure why not but its cheaper and and easier to just have a phone mount. Its good that different options exist but I cant see any use for one.
Using your phone has issues too. Number one, if you have a fall, and are separated from your bike, how can you call an ambulance? Overheating is the next issue, like here in Australia and there’s many more…
@@martyn_g I never considered the heat issue but it's still going to be working with the nav app in your pocket or on the handle bars. After I had my accident I couldn't use my arms so using my phone wasn't much of an option for me. I can see your point though, like I said it's good to have options if you don't mind paying more for the same function.
At speed, airflow will cool most phones, but stationery they will cook and its happened to me before.. I agree with the app based tech being a problem when it's out of date, but its also a plus as it's always up to date using Google maps data, I'm guessing.. unlike a tom tom? It's also in beelines best interest to support the older models as it gives piece of mind.. you gotta have 200 quid burning a hole in your pocket though.. I personally get a good phone so I have all this tech in the palm of my hand. I see no real reason for an apple watch, a sat nav, a stop watch, a laptop, notepad, a photo camera, a video camera, portable TV, walkman, porno mags, and more, it's all in my phone.. selling all that stuff piecemeal is a tough sell.. I like it, but I £29.99 like it, so its not for me..
The camera on my phone died a few hours after being mounted to my motor. Got a beeline moto 2 in preorder, also prefer the look on my bike over having my phone mounted.
The vibrations destroy your cam on your phone… thats biggest issue with phone mounts. Even if you have vibration-absorber, it doesn’t help
When is ti's available in stores?
Hi, end of May according to Urban Rider web site.
I can wear this as a watch. Detach from my wristband and mount it on the bike and there you go again
Why is it better than Google Maps or Waze??🤔 The display is tiny and it has no voice commands, surely that’s just one more thing to be looking down at. Looks dangerous to me.
Ideal if you don't want your phone on display and you haven't got a intercom, a simple glance after each turn off and it shows you how far until you need to look again, simple and efficient
It has voice commands via the app (I use the original with a cardo and works really well for me)
@@nathanielcampbell8817 the moto 1 works with cardo?
