If Hoss didn't follow Adams advice to wrestle that guy i don't think Hoss would've lasted another minute... he was kickin Hoss ass!!! Sometimes you gotta jump and tackle to win a fight, alls fair when you're trying to survive.... Love the way Hoss stuck up for his little brother and his "Pa"
Serving Justice Cartwright style! If you look in the background, you can see Adam releasing Ben (who also stops trying to intervene) once Hoss has the guy wrapped up in a bear hug. Hoss is a boss!
The episode that let you know how quick thinking Adam was. Hoss was not going to beat a trained boxer. Adam flipped the script for Hoss and they got some payback for what the animal did to Li'l Joe.
Oh yes. I love that episode. Lots of episodes showed what a beast Hoss was- his brute strength and his brutal effectiveness in a scrap. Hoss and the Leprechauns showed what a big heart he had. Reportedly, that was one of Dan Blocker's personal favorite Bonanza episodes.
Good thing Hoss had Adam's advice. Leaving it as a fistfight, Hoss missed the other guy at least 4 times, got punched 8 times, and hit the floor 4 times before he managed to touch the guy!
This is the episode that converted me from a casual observer to someone who HAD to catch the next episode. KTLA used to run it in syndication in the afternoons. This also made Hoss my favorite of the group.
I'm actually watching Bonanza as i write this. I'm watching the episodes on TVLand and incidentally i'm now watching the funniest episode in my opinion of all Bonanza episodes: "Hoss and the Leprechauns" S5 E12 Too Funny! Lol what they do to Hoss throughout the entire episode is crazy and the near ending is Hilarious when the little people are confronted by the entire Cartwright clan..i'm sure you've seen that one before and maybe you would like to watch it again Lol
Agreed. Plus the boxer didn't fight Little Joe fair. First, Joe's much smaller. Second, he punched him from behind in the back of the head when he wasn't expecting it.
Yeah, that guy was just an asshole and a dirty fighter. He kept using his injured hand as an excuse not to use a gun, to not choose to continue to fight professionally, and unfairly attack Little Joe to provoke a fight with a man who's probably 25 or maybe more years older than him. Glad Ben had all of his sons there with him, that's the way it's supposed to be. Justice was served in that episode. Thanks for your reply zuesyszeus777
Don't hit em again!! Shiiiiid.. He side stepped Hoss two times and slapped da shit outta him...😵. Hoss shoulda kicked em cross his Damn head when he was down.. Dammitboy

Adam was always the smartest Cartwright. He knew Ben couldn’t take the guy, but he also he couldn’t!! So he grabs Ben and Hoss wades in. Brilliant!!

Check out the tear when Joe blinks. Fabulous.

Good work by Hoss. MMA training on the ranch paid off.

What a sad woman to defend a bully. She possessed a sick love.

Nice throw Adam (at the bar) and good advice during the fight.

Reagan (sp?) was a coward.
Clearly this boxer never fought a real man.
Naw you go to give the Boxer his props. He was drunk and taking it to Hoss and drinking during the fight but the better man won, though.
Is this the Charlie Powers fight?
The Boxer was not prepared for wrestling
What’s the name of this episode? Hoss was getting the shit beat out of him at first 🤣🤣🤣

@6893455b that style is called a settee.
THis is from season 1 Joe is only 16 or 17. So, it's likely an older young being agressive would scare him.
He was 21 I believe
He hurt little joe
what is name of this episode

I Like How Boss Hit With his FIST
