    Mate I’ve got to say, you’re totally on fire, been watching since I stumbled across your 20 day single release plan in Feb and thankfully had a single release a few days later to test it out, I’ve close to doubled my instagram following since and I don’t even know how much of the credit you deserve for that 😂 this one is absolute gold. A french comedian had a sketch about promoting a name back in the 80's. He was talking to a guy in the audience and was repeating his name at the end of every question he asked him. Now, I still remember the name of that dude... and SVEN...

    Watched this video with a smile. Fantastic tips. This reminds me of the book Influence by R. Cialdini, and when you talked about the club using no marketing, no advertising no promotion it reminded me of MJ Demarco's incredible book 'Unscripted' where he states that when something is of *relative* value to people, then that something will advertise itself. Your videos are marvellous and I hope more and more people wake up from the daydream that their music only is enough.

    Hey Damo (or Deimo?), your videos are something I really need right now, thanks so much for sharing your knowledge. Me and my brother started a band 13 years ago in high school, then after 3 years of lots of small gigs we split to colleges and never finished the album we started recording. Since then we played in a lot of other bands, played in the big festival a day before Jordan Rudess, and also released an album with another band. Now, after 10 years, we are getting back to the original projects thanks to which I started playing the drums. And now we take it seriously.

    Hey Damo. I have a hard question about Radio. We just released our biggest song yet and thanks to your advice, it's going really well on Spotify and social media and it is our most successful release yet. I am wondering if we should push to radio now. It's much more expensive and I am afraid that even if the track gets picked up and does well, by the time we will be able to play live, people might forget about it. I am wondering if we should wait it out a bit more. Thoughts?

    Back when I was in a band we did battle of the bands all the time and we basically turned every gig into one massive party with our friends who came down, we made the whole night about us. Pissed a lot of other bands off but our gigs only got bigger and bigger with more people coming to see us play, even got a vlogger friend to interview us outside the venue while another band was playing to draw attention to us

    Cosmosaic seeks to establish a new genre, called Cosmic Rock. The overall aim is to introduce a type of music that explores the interrelation and exploration of inner and outer space and Man's place in the Cosmos. As above, so below. The underlying foundation will be Rock music, but many genres will play an influence. Key influences are Psychedelic, Occult, Hard Rock, and Krautrock.

    • @toonvank6165
      @toonvank6165 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Black Licorice see if you can set up a rehearsal room show, or in someone’s basement or garage. Or things like small cafes or (record)stores. There’s a real charm to playing these kind of shows! Here in the Netherlands there’s a whole showcase tour for upcoming artists based on that idea, that works almost exclusively with small places that aren’t “proper” music venues on a regular day. It’s pretty neat :)

    • @DamianKeyes
      @DamianKeyes  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey! This is totally up to you... but having an audience is the best place you could be, as you then have options. But you can build an audience from scratch whilst releasing too. The important thing with releasing is not to focus on the first being the winner... focus on the 10th being the winner, and just keep your mind on slow growth until that point. The marathon is the winner here 😊😊
