I'm eniya .
Mam I have a doubt. Today I watched ur live session about gerunds , infinitive, participle. In that a person asked this question
*He jumped on the running bus*
Here running is participle or gerund
He asked . Mam u answered that it is a participle .
There I got a doubt Mam. Like u told that if a sentence answers a question "WHAT", then it is a gerund. So likewise I tried asking this question my self like.....
He jumped on WHAT?
and it answered:He jumped on the running bus. So I thought that this word in this sentence is a GERUND
And mam moreover in ur video u said that , if "THE" comes before -ing form words it is a gerund .
So here in the above sentence running is a GERUND OR PARTICIPLE.
Kindly read fully and please 🙏 tell me the crt answer Mam please🙏🙏

The answer to 'what' is not 'running', but 'running bus'. 'Running' describes the bus. It's a participle adjective.
Running is a good exercise.
I like running.
In the above two sentences, 'running' is a gerund. It's the subject in the first sentence and the object in the second sentence. It answers 'what' in both the sentences.
And the word 'the' in the given sentence is not for 'running', it's for the 'bus'.
