Plot twist: Leon takes cigarette from La Policia in RE4R and lights it with that lighter because he's starting to get suspicious that the internet thinks it was for arson 😅
I read a Twitter post from Resident Bio Evil about the purpose about Leon's lighter that intrigued me he states that Leon has that lighter in RE2 not to smoke. Instead, he keeps this lighter as a memento of his father. His dad was murdered in an attack by a crime gang whom Kennedy's father had a rivalry with. So, Leon holds onto the last piece of his dad he has left. And based on the images from his tweet the description of the lighter is from the Japanese text, I could be wrong but it is interesting nonetheless!
This doesn't really makes sense since one core detail debunks this, which is the engraved logo on it is of a Racoon City Police Department and it's the same exact one you can find in the police station. Which suggests he got it in the mail as a welcome package from RCPD alongside the uniform and probably other items. Which further makes sense since his next gift was suppose to be a upgrade to his Matilda handgun upon the arrival party which is a more concrete gift then what he already got prior. Another key note, police officers around the world use to get all sorts of things and this lighter is essentially another tool someone in service would put up to use, not meant to be used solely by smokers. I know plenty of police officers who got all sorts of tools and benzin lighter being of them and they carry it all the time since it's a tool. But again other service people also have this so it's a universal thing really.
@@minmogrovingstrongandhealthy That makes sense if it was a gift from the RPD (and about the Matilda upgrade!). I wonder where it being a gift from his father came from

@@velvetbutterfly What you remember was actually Berry Burton and his two daughters and his wife saying goodbye to each other then Berry saying that don't worry I will be fine, something along those lines, upon leaving for Raccoon City to help his comrades. Spoiler alert: Barry Burton is who fly the heli and saves Jill right before the nuke drops. Another character that some people seem to mix up is Dario Rosso who mentions his sick daughter being lost telling Jill to find her, however she was pretty much dead, at one point in the game a female zombie appears among gang of others which doesn't appear anywhere else in the game which suggests that must be her, also the description matches that zombie too. I can somewhat understand the mix up, due to two things, he is mentioning a sick missing daughter and his model honestly looks like a Kendo reskin ... Other then that Kendo shop and Kendo brothers characters itself are just a story tie in, both simply made weapons for the police and ran a weapon shop, that is all to it, even the name Kendo is a throw-in as it can be since Kendo is a Japanese matrial arts name XD (that is related to Kenjutsu), it's not an actual name. The added scene in 2R seems very forced and out of place, they cut and alter heavily so many things in 2R (so as 3R) that this feels like it was added just as last minute decision to be edgy-shock value more then anything. Looks like he being swarm by zombies wasn't enough ... and if there was more planned then they would actually flesh out more both of the brothers instead of wtf this ever is.

Ben Bertolucci is my favorite NPC in the Resident Evil universe. Although we know his fate, it would be cool to possibly play as him in a sort of mod just like Kevin Ryman's "Here Comes the Storm" and as Marvin Brannagh. It would be cool to wander the streets of Raccoon City as Ben, before "The Storm" hits and gather information. Hell, you could even use the clip of that artwork sketch where you see Chris, Jill, Barry, and Brad badger the Chief Irons, while Ben is narrating the bizarre incident. Furthermore, I'd also like to play as Alyssa to further investigate Ben's story as it was said that she knew Ben. Honestly, I'm just saying this because I'm a journalist major that had just graduated!
7:24 Please excuse me while I take my victory lap. THE BENGAL DRAGON! THE DRAGON discovered that the HARD WAY!!! :) Why would a girl who is SUPPOSED to be (excuse my french) the BIGGEST HOE of Resident Evil never be shown to be flirting with ANYONE, even compared to women like Ada and Ashley (who are by comparisons, supposedly smaller hoes than Claire) and why would Claire NEVER be shown in any tpe of romantic relationship outside Code Veronica? Why would someone supposedly as promiscuous as the western perception of Claire be shown to be definitely not an atheist, so much so that she thinks her jacket with an angelic insignia is an AMULET? (The Japanese word used isn't Kami meaning God, or Megame meaning Goddess, it's OMAMORI meaning amulet) So claire says, "My AMULET protected you. It will always be with you." She was even shown praying at the end of Code Veronica.. I also liked the touch of Code Veronica when you made that revelation. But come on my friend, a shout out would've been nice! Just kidding man. Anyways, as for Leon, his behavior of trying to flirt with many women, is consistent with what you mentioned. The drinking thing however... I mean there is RE Vendetta, so there might be some truth to it, but wasn't Chris also seen drinking in RE6 I think? Interestingly enough, of all the women, Leon never hits on Claire, indicating that either he views Claire as a younger sister, Claire is not his type, or both. And Like I mentioned, Leon only gets the women he doesn't want. For anyone else reading this (sorry for the self promotion) but if you haven't already, watch my video "The Original claire Redfield story everyone missed" and see how deep Claire's character is. FYI, I rewatched Degeneration after making that video, and.... oh boy.... I was shocked to discover... Claire's mental condition is even WORSE than what I presented in my video. More on that on my Degeneration review. Also, just a correction. in the canonical scenario (Claire A Leon B) Claire indeed says Leon's name in front of Sherry, and Sherry hears his voice. Over the radio, Claire says "Leon are you still there? We are leaving." to which Leon says "Are you Crazy... and so on." So yeah, Sherry knows who Leon is, coz she heard what he sounds like. Also, check out my Jack Krauser voice acting attempt, and let me know ont hat vid what you think. Great vid as always!
Lol once again the blind man sees many things! Thanks for the correction, I just repeated what was in the book and didn't do my due diligence in checking. She should've known from that. Actually I did check out your Krauser video, I was the 2nd like. I didn't have time to leave a comment yet. I thought you captured the gravely sound of his voice pretty well actually

Also... "2 months have passed since she lost contact with her older brother Chris..." the evidence keeps piling up my friend. I recently got into a debate with someone where I showed the person that Darkside chronicles is not canon. Claire says in DSC that Chris was missing for 3 months. But, according to what you have revealed, Chris was missing for 5 months. No one mentions how long Chris was missing for in CVX. So either Chris was missing for 3 months or 5 months, it can't be both at once lol. Also... hmmm... maybe the girl that Leon broke up with was Elza walker, and maybe she decided not to partake in Resident Evil 2, coz she was mad at Leon :)
I'm still looking for information about the MON MON Hotdog Stand which had connections with 3 games that I'm aware of. If wondering what games have MON MON Hotdog Stand connections well the best known is the original RE3 which had posters everywhere in the downtown area where one of them you can interact with as well the restaurant is in the game, the original RE2 has a billboard of the MON MON Hotdog Stand poster which is located in the background where the zombies eating before entering the bus but finding is difficult because once you get into place to see it the zombies will attack you giving you few seconds, and the last is RE3 where you get a unlockable knife call the HOTDOGGER which is a reference of MON MON Hotdog Stand from the original RE3 because why else would call that name if it didn't have a meaning to it.
That's HAS to be something! I bet Welsh might know if it's an inside joke or reference to a staff member. Maybe just a joke? Whatever it is, it's definitely worth a deeper look! I'm going to be looking at RE3 in the future so maybe we can figure it out! Thanks so much for sharing!
@@raccooncitycinema I known about it for years but I should know about because I was the first one who discovered everything possible about the MON MON Hotdog Stand and even more weirder I never found any videos about it after saying something about it as well few other secrets in the original RE3 which don't even appear in the strategy guide or anywhere else for that matter.
This book is from 1998 so it's possible. The Tony's Arms thing is new to me. I'd never seen some of the other small stuff translated properly before like about Claire's boyfriend, or Ada doesn't appear phased because... her Asian facial features? lol wtf is that?
Hello my friend, and I'm so sorry, for some reason, I keep catching things people seem to overlook... LOL :) OK, in Resident Evil 2 original, apparently if you check the desk opposite Chris's desk which has the medallion and his Diary, there is a picture that is assumed to be Jill's boyfriend by Leon and Claire. In the Japanaese version, is the word used to describe "boyfriend" 彼氏 or ボーイフレンド? I think it's the latter, but I just wanto to be sure. Interestingly, this picture was later changed to that of a dog.. Considering they made a similar mistake translating the Japanese to English with Claire's description, I think this might be the same mistake here. Looking forward to your response my friend...
@@raccooncitycinema Thank you so very much for that... So... Jill had a picture of someone on her desk, inspecting which caused either Leon or Claire to think it's her lover (or sweetheart) meaning that Jill cared about him enough to put his picture on her work desk... And capcom turned him into a dog? LOL Was Wesker so jealous of others in his office who weren't single like him that he made a virus that turned Jill's lover into a dog? LOL. Well, at least that tells us that there are no "feelings" between chris and Jill.
@@TheBengalDragon since it's only Claire or Leon's assumption, it's just silly; it could've been anyone. It could've been a picture of her father as a young man. And if it was her boyfriend, she never mentions escaping Raccoon City with him, or laments how he didn't make it haha You can't infer anything about her feelings towards Chris from this.
@@raccooncitycinema Good point, but Claire or Leon (as in the player) concluding that it's her lover, indicates that Jill was probably also in that picture, but you made a good point. They never made this part of her story, and Jill stuck around in Raccoon City for a while. Even in Jill's diary in RE3, there is no mention of him. Thank you! I'm glad to hear that!
I read a Twitter post from Resident Bio Evil about the purpose about Leon's lighter that intrigued me he states that
Leon has that lighter in RE2 not to smoke.
Very interesting! I'll have to check that tweet out, thanks for sharing!
@raccooncitycinema you're welcome. I would ask him to make sure if it's 100% accurate!
@@willisrose9756 ok thanks again. There's so much more for these characters!

@fromthegamethrone there's a statistic that goes around. I don't know what it is though and I have never seen it for myself. It's most commonly shared in online anti-police communities. From what I know, the statistic may be wrong.

You should see the number of black sports stars who have a history of domestic abuse. I guarantee you're triggered now, but that won't make the statistic go away. Even the most cursory internet searches are chock full on information on it, and there's nothing you can do. for kendo his original story much better than the unnecessary daughter drama in re2re because he isn't that necessary character originally:/
leon didn't care in re2re about sherry because capcom cut every tie for him with Sherry in re2re, unlike re2 original
they didn't meet or talk once in re2re
Thank you so much!
I never noticed that about re2re! Originally I just put that clip in there as a joke but that's a good point
Wasn't the daughter/family stuff talked about in Nemesis? I assumed it was added to better tie into the sequel

THE BENGAL DRAGON! THE DRAGON discovered that the HARD WAY!!! :)
Why would a girl who is SUPPOSED to be (excuse my french) the BIGGEST HOE of Resident Evil never be shown to be flirting with ANYONE, even compared to women like Ada and Ashley (who are by comparisons, supposedly smaller hoes than Claire) and why would Claire NEVER be shown in any tpe of romantic relationship outside Code Veronica?

If you ever want to work together on a video, please let me know and I'll be more than happy to do it.
Haha I'd buy Elza being Leon's ex, he sure has a thing for motorcycles later
Yay
Isn’t typical of a police officer? Over 50% of officers admitted to domestic violence anonymously when surveyed.
Man I feel like I knew this all already tho lol
This book is from 1998 so it's possible. The Tony's Arms thing is new to me. I'd never seen some of the other small stuff translated properly before like about Claire's boyfriend, or Ada doesn't appear phased because... her Asian facial features? lol wtf is that?
In the apartment stairs area where you see the very first female zombie you see graffiti on a wall that says "Alex N Joel" who are they?
Great question! I don't know right now but maybe Welsh knows. I'll add it to the list of mysteries, thank you!
Hello my friend, and I'm so sorry, for some reason, I keep catching things people seem to overlook... LOL :)
OK, in Resident Evil 2 original, apparently if you check the desk opposite Chris's desk which has the medallion and his Diary, there is a picture that is assumed to be Jill's boyfriend by Leon and Claire.
Hey I just checked and it's neither. They said 恋人 which means "lover"
And if it was her boyfriend, she never mentions escaping Raccoon City with him, or laments how he didn't make it haha
You can't infer anything about her feelings towards Chris from this.
