Great job Will, amazing video as always, RE3 was the first RE game I played and I have some great memories about it! There were some things I never noticed about this game in my entire life!!! Thanks for your hard work, 🙏 I hope you can do some book analysis for Dino Crisis and Demento in the future, but remember to think about yourself and your life first! 😊
Thank you so much! It's amazing what we can still find after all these years! When I noticed the text about curry and rice I couldn't believe it 😆 And yes I'll do Dino Crisis AND Demento some day! Those will take a long time as usual, but this video got the best reception yet, so I'm feeling really motivated 💪 Take care of yourself, too!
Man, what a ton of interesting content, thanks for sharing it as usual! For me the greatest secret is how to time the damn dodge in this game 💀 Also, can't wait for the Dino Crisis video!
🤣🤣🤣 it's a mystery no one will ever know! And thank you! I'm really proud I was able to find these Easter eggs after nearly 25 years. Probably my greatest contribution to the RE community? 🤔 Awesome, I got a head start on translating the book but recording gameplay will take forever. Lots of very specific things to test that'll make you say, "why did they publish that in a book?" 😆
Well damn, for the compass part it would have been useful to remove the compass and use the water pressure as a weapon to just pump nemesis full of led. The guide does say *use the streets to your advantage*
Wow love this Never seen anyone relying on Japanese guides to find new secretive stuff I have been collecting all Biohazard guides I'm at 90% currently I assure you they have many info/secrets that never has been widely known Details that are mind blowing
Thank you! And yeah, these books are awesome. it's amazing some of the secrets trapped inside! I've been going through them for a few years here on TH-cam. Also I like to see what else I can find not in the guides, like the developer names and that curry and rice message (still can't believe that one!). Too bad they don't make the books anymore 😣
Hello my friend, great to hear you're well. Hope you had a wonderful start to 2024! Great to see another of your videos. Bruh... with all those developer names, why do you need end credits? lol :) 7:05 - "... and in this version, Jill, has gone to Europe". YES!!! BLIND MAN INDEED SEES MANY THINGS! This is what I mentioned in my CVX vs DSC video, that the protagonist in Code Veronica was not supposed to Be claire, it was supposed to be Jill. Thanks for the added confirmation my friend! Thanks for showing this game some love. For me, this was the best RE game I played from the classic ones. The biggest selling point for me was the powerful stalking enemy, the fact that you get to explore more of the city, and the improved control, specifically the dodge attacks from Jill, and those event choices. BTW, have you continued or finished watching my CVX vs DSC video?
No I haven't finished your video yet, but I haven't forgotten. Seriously this video took up all my free time since the last one so I'll finally be able to catch up on...everything! Lol exactly, it's like half the background creators! Oh your best one, eh? Yeah the dodge is a blast to use. Really gained a new appreciation for it after this video
@@raccooncitycinema I remember playing Nemesis over and over again. And whereas In Code Veronica, I bought it that many times for the cutscenes, and me trying to figure out what thy were trying to do, in RE3, I played it many times due to the gameplay. It was always fun to see how many ways and with what weapons you can take down Nemesis The crafting ammo, extra weapons, extra costumes, all made the replay value that much better. Awesome man, I look forward to your thoughts on the rest of my vid. BTW, have you come across a game called Timesplitters Future Perfect?
I actually knew about the future compass one already, only because I tried it when I was younger. I'm looking forward to your Dino Crisis video, by the way.
Hey! Hope you didn't get beat up too badly by Nemesis too 😆 Yeah I'm not sure when I'll get to it. Been translating bits and pieces. My kid loves dinosaurs so maybe that's something we can do together
Another great video from the man comin’ straight of the streets of Raccoon City! 😎👍 A few of those details I never noticed until now! But hey, never hurts to know them a bit later than usual after all. But putting it aside, excellent work on the video! It felt nice to see more stuff that the game could offer on the book. It felt quite refreshing. 😉💙
Awesome, thank you! I had no idea how much of the book is known but it's fun to just go through them all and test for myself. The Monster chapter of this book will be huge though 😩
@@raccooncitycinemaCheers! And hey, I don’t blame you for putting the time and effort to translate everything. The Monster part of it can wait! Just take your time as always, man. ☺️💙
I remember seeing the bad curry note at the beginning of the game but had no idea it was about curry as well the note does disappear when you return to that spot after the police station. I'm thinking about getting the Japanese strategy guide to see if there is information about the MON MON Hotdog stand which is a mystery because you see posters of it almost everywhere in the downtown area and you can find the MON MON Hotdog stand in the back alley before heading to the save room with the rusty crank as well you can find a billboard of it in RE2 before heading to the bus at the beginning.
Well there's nothing about the signs or names in the guidebook, those were all my discoveries, but yeah MON MON is probably a developer nickname or pseudonym. I think it's actually related to a sign on the gas station (on or near the shutter) that says MONS. I wonder if it's from the old days when Japanese developers didn't put their real names in the credits, but I looked through a bunch of old Capcom game credits and couldn't find anyone. Sadly, MON MON escaped me this time
@@raccooncitycinema I think it's more of a Easter egg thing instead of a developer thing which I wouldn't be surprised one of the developers likes hotdogs and it being Easter egg thing it does make sense why the HOTDOGGER is in the remake where that feels like a Easter egg for MON MON Hotdog stand. It's just the biggest mystery about it's existence in the whole series which even RE 1.5 has more detailed information about it and that game is a mystery too.
I’m not sure if it’s on here. But if you watch Yugioh dual monsters episode 1 where grandpa shows yugi and his friends the blue eyes white dragon, you can see a re3 Easter egg
improve the food in the staff canteen? well as the alleyway near the tram advertises, if the staff canteen sucks, maybe they could go out to the koi take out and get some 'japanies food' delivered instead. and no, that's not me making a typo. if you play the game the sign in the take out window has a typo XD
@@raccooncitycinema they give me a little chuckle every time I see one, believe I'm up to about 20 that I've found so far. dull I know, but when you're just killing time usually gets a chuckle from me.
This week I found something interesting... I found all dialogs and voices from RE3 Nemesis and there is rail cannon voice and the computer sad VARNING fifteen seconds to rail cannon launch. I've played 100 times this game and I've never heard it in game.
Haha I'll have to listen for that, thank you! And yeah, I was shocked by all the hidden Easter eggs in here, it just goes to show you how many times you play it there's something new to discover. Also a testament to the detail they put into it
So glad to see you back! Here's a patented long comment as usual: I absolutely love all these name cameos, because as a kid of the 90s growing up in the west; myself (like many RE fans of the time) tended to give this weird graffiti so much more meaning and purpose than what was actually warranted. To us in the West, these signs and tags were strange esoteric messages for us to figure out. If only we knew how normal it is in Japan for game developers to use psuedonyms and nicknames. (Metal Slug's credits for anyone as a kid was just bonkers, as well as the original Castlevania of course). In regards to costumes, I can't see a mini skirt police officer without thinking of the anime You're Under Arrest! The epilogue art of Claire is some of my favourite Resident Evil art ever. I really miss when they used illustration and simple text. It evokes so much more mystery than a cut scene. I also love how these guide books talk about glitches as if they are secrets, it makes the guide seem very unofficial. Again, Another excellent vid. I'd love to see in the future you possibly cover something not survival horror related. Maybe Klonoa 2 or something!
Glad to see you back, too (this time on my channel 😂) I love the names too, and I'm really proud to have found so many that went unnoticed all these years. It's frustrating cuz I know there's more I missed, like Mon Mon hot dogs is probably one of those old pseudonyms (and probably related to "MONS" written on the shutter of the gas station). But without insider access I can't know. I did browse old Capcom games looking for hints but nothing. Haha yeah for sure, they have a good sense of humor in these books. I think they were padding to reach a round number haha. I would love to do other videos some day, I'd prefer to do less discussed games. I'd never thought of Klonoa 2 before but I'll consider it (I don't have the game but it's tempting when on sale). I'm actually planning a surprise Secrets of the Guidebook for a cult PS2 game few people know exists. But I just need the time to do it. As a small channel I worry doing other stuff will confuse TH-cam and it won't push my work. I actually just made a Patreon so I can in the future try doing other stuff like that without worrying about hurting my channel Thanks again for your patented long comments 😂
Like yesterday i remember calling my mom to the living room (she was putting Lavender scented carpet powder on the floor) to tell her look how real the graphics looked on RE3s cgi cutscenes for the ps1😂 shit was nuts at the time
Well the guidebook doesn't have any Easter Eggs in it actually, those were mostly my discoveries, and I couldn't find anything about that face beyond what has already been discussed unfortunately, so I didn't think it was necessary
There's also the famous scene where you find a woman screaming and running away screaming for help, only to find her dead and being eaten by a zombie. No matter how times you try to "rescue" her, you never do. Whats the deal with that folks??? Also, who are those dead people you find inside the clock tower There's a soldier and a girl dead together. Who are they???
I'm gonna talk about that girl who runs away in the RE3 Monsters video I plan on doing in the future (she gets a small mention in the guidebook but don't say who she is unfortunately). I love that little bit of storytelling in the clock tower! One thing RE3 really excelled at was the environmental storytelling
Man this has been my absolutely favorite video game since I was a child in 1999. I hate how they made this remake compared to 2 which I absolutely love as well since 98 but damn man they at least made that remake pretty damn great.
The riding suit really reminds me of the riding suit worn by the helmet people in Dino Crisis 2, more specifically Dylan's daughters, Paula, considering it's feminine, where as the other two helmet people we see are males with a male version.
the policewoman uniform with the mini-skirt I would say is a meter maid. (Atleast a retro costume) A plot twist I can make up in my head is that Jill was demoted to a meter maid after trying to expose the truth of Umbrella's wrongdoing.
@@raccooncitycinema I know there's a name in the epilogue screen. It's like this _"I LOVE YOU_ _(Japanese name)_ _RETURN TO MAIN"_ Something like that Do you know what name is that?

@@raccooncitycinema In fact, "son" in spanish is written "hijo", but in some countries or rural areas, moms use to call their sons (or younger men that could resemble a son) "mijo" which is an unofficial contraption of "mi hijo" = "my son".
The dodge is simple but its awkward if you don't know the requirements. You HAVE to be aiming your weapon to dodge, that's the weird part that makes it way more confusing than it needs to be for new players. So you hold R1 (assuming PS1) to aim, then wait for an attack and press X with the right timing to dodge. The timing is strict but you can honestly mash the X button and accidentally get a dodge more often than you'd think.
Yeah I can't think of any tracks from the newer remakes either. It's nice that you can switch between old and new songs, but that shouldn't be locked away as DLC 😣
I'm not sure but you can find parts of it on Project Umbrella and there are parts on the Resident Evil wiki. Both are great resources if you haven't checked them out! Actually, going through these guidebooks was basically inspired by finding a half translated list of secret features in Code Veronica on the Wiki 😄 I wanted to see for myself, and clear up some discrepancies and practice more Japanese
@@raccooncitycinema I see, thank you for the detailed response. 🙂 You can read those guidebooks in Japanese with ease, more or less? And, BTW, do you know if the ENGJAP machine translation improved recently? Last I checked (few years ago), it still wasn't good. I wonder, if those guides were machine translated today, would the text make sense?
All the remakes except the Gamecube RE1 are just trash. Who gives a shit about the new 3D camera and movement when half the gameplay, fun sequences, levels, enemies are just taken away?

Dude, It's a joke and call back to my RE2 video. Also a meta commentary on the reused assets of RE3 from RE2. Did you not watch until the end? Because if I were worried about demonization why would I STILL include the content??? I would have had to cut it entirely. And there is nothing even close to getting demonitized here. If money were my main goal I wouldn't have spent MONTHS carefully editing to keep it short. I'd instead pushing out shit I read off a wiki on weekly basis with the most clickbaitey thumbnail talking about the same over-talked about shit. You can say it's a bad joke, but you CAN'T say it is about money. It's not censoring if include it and show everything!!

When I noticed the text about curry and rice I couldn't believe it 😆
And yes I'll do Dino Crisis AND Demento some day! Those will take a long time as usual, but this video got the best reception yet, so I'm feeling really motivated 💪
Take care of yourself, too!
Man, what a ton of interesting content, thanks for sharing it as usual! For me the greatest secret is how to time the damn dodge in this game 💀
Also, can't wait for the Dino Crisis video!
🤣🤣🤣 it's a mystery no one will ever know!
And thank you! I'm really proud I was able to find these Easter eggs after nearly 25 years. Probably my greatest contribution to the RE community? 🤔
Awesome, I got a head start on translating the book but recording gameplay will take forever. Lots of very specific things to test that'll make you say, "why did they publish that in a book?" 😆
I was just rewatching this channel yesterday, great work!
I'm thrilled to hear that, welcome back! Thank you!
Well damn, for the compass part it would have been useful to remove the compass and use the water pressure as a weapon to just pump nemesis full of led. The guide does say *use the streets to your advantage*
#9 is very useful when you are Danger and far from recovery items and box. Makes you move faster too and it looks funny 😂
I'll have to try that! Thank you!
We called it the South Park walk.
Wow love this
Never seen anyone relying on Japanese guides to find new secretive stuff
I have been collecting all Biohazard guides
I'm at 90% currently
I assure you they have many info/secrets that never has been widely known
Details that are mind blowing
These are always great! After Dark was the highlight :D
Haha glad to hear that!
Love your content, you're great, please continue
Thank you so much! Working on the next video right now 👍
Hello my friend, great to hear you're well. Hope you had a wonderful start to 2024! Great to see another of your videos.
Bruh... with all those developer names, why do you need end credits? lol :)
7:05 - "... and in this version, Jill, has gone to Europe".
Once again my friend this is pure gold! keep up the good job! Consider to make a video of resident evil survivor very underrated game!
I already have the book, just need the time 😁
And thank you!
Great video as always, keep it up
Thanks, I appreciate it!
I actually knew about the future compass one already, only because I tried it when I was younger. I'm looking forward to your Dino Crisis video, by the way.
Hey! Hope you didn't get beat up too badly by Nemesis too 😆
Yeah I'm not sure when I'll get to it. Been translating bits and pieces. My kid loves dinosaurs so maybe that's something we can do together
Another great video from the man comin’ straight of the streets of Raccoon City! 😎👍
A few of those details I never noticed until now!
This was fun😂. Thanks for making this video
Glad to hear it, I was really excited to share about the curry 😁
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for your work 😊
Thanks for watching!
Excellent content 💪👽
Awesome, thank you!!
I’m not sure if it’s on here. But if you watch Yugioh dual monsters episode 1 where grandpa shows yugi and his friends the blue eyes white dragon, you can see a re3 Easter egg
@@mr.patriotjol haha how cool is that? RE3 fans slipping in an Easter egg into an anime! Thanks for letting me know!
@@raccooncitycinema no problem
I love your videos!
Thanks so much! Happy to hear that
improve the food in the staff canteen?
well as the alleyway near the tram advertises, if the staff canteen sucks, maybe they could go out to the koi take out and get some 'japanies food' delivered instead.
and no, that's not me making a typo. if you play the game the sign in the take out window has a typo XD
Haha par for the course when it comes to English spelling
@@raccooncitycinema they give me a little chuckle every time I see one, believe I'm up to about 20 that I've found so far. dull I know, but when you're just killing time usually gets a chuckle from me.
Oh my gosh! I have the blue guide book for RE3 Nemesis! I can’t read Japanese so this is a very welcome video! Thank you ❤
Happy to hear it! I'll be doing more chapters from this book, and maybe the other book (with Jill on the cover, right?) In the future 👍
@@raccooncitycinema Yes! The Jill cover! I’m looking forward to seeing it!
Here's a patented long comment as usual:
I absolutely love all these name cameos, because as a kid of the 90s growing up in the west; myself (like many RE fans of the time) tended to give this weird graffiti so much more meaning and purpose than what was actually warranted.
Glad to see you back, too (this time on my channel 😂)
I love the names too, and I'm really proud to have found so many that went unnoticed all these years.
I actually just made a Patreon so I can in the future try doing other stuff like that without worrying about hurting my channel
Thanks again for your patented long comments 😂
Dude, where's the patreon link?! You need to pin that shit! Don't be afraid to advertise support links.
@@novelezra have I ever mentioned how wise you are? 😆 You are right, I will do that now, thank you for the confidence!
Like yesterday i remember calling my mom to the living room (she was putting Lavender scented carpet powder on the floor) to tell her look how real the graphics looked on RE3s cgi cutscenes for the ps1😂 shit was nuts at the time
Haha awesome, I remember being blown away by RE2s graphics but not that vividly!
@@raccooncitycinema i think i had jus gotten over excited and wanted to share the cutscene with someone😭😭🤓🥹
A shame the guidebook doesn't shed light on the hidden face in the sky texture.
Yes, clicked this video to see something about it :(
Well the guidebook doesn't have any Easter Eggs in it actually, those were mostly my discoveries, and I couldn't find anything about that face beyond what has already been discussed unfortunately, so I didn't think it was necessary
@@raccooncitycinema It's such a weird oddity, you'd think they'd include it. A strange Regina face in the sky.
@@JoesGuy definitely would love to talk to some of the designers and ask!
There's also the famous scene where you find a woman screaming and running away screaming for help, only to find her dead and being eaten by a zombie. No matter how times you try to "rescue" her, you never do.
Whats the deal with that folks???
Also, who are those dead people you find inside the clock tower
There's a soldier and a girl dead together.
Great video
Thanks for watching it!
the policewoman uniform with the mini-skirt I would say is a meter maid. (Atleast a retro costume)
A plot twist I can make up in my head is that Jill was demoted to a meter maid after trying to expose the truth of Umbrella's wrongdoing.
😂 I love that
@@raccooncitycinema Actually, I would like to make use of that baton on her belt as well.

Yeah, kinda unbelievable some of these Easter eggs went unknown in such a beloved game!
@@raccooncitycinema I've never seen Jill do that crouched shooting before. My brain won't accept it even though I've seen it in the video.
It's so sad that OG RE3 has so many extra and secret stuff (not to mention RNG) compared to the shitty RE3make
And it literally has alternative life path options as well. While the remake was one linear cutscene after another
I always found strange that costume for Leon .

Omg I always hear that in movies and tv and I finally know what it means! Thank you!
@@raccooncitycinema In fact, "son" in spanish is written "hijo", but in some countries or rural areas, moms use to call their sons (or younger men that could resemble a son) "mijo" which is an unofficial contraption of "mi hijo" = "my son".

Sad times that games nowadays don’t have nearly as much thought and care put into them.
Interesting.
5:56 - 6:03 🤣
I just HAD to use that slap somewhere in here 😆
And still nobody really knows how the dodge mechanic really works
😂 I did finally get kinda good at it, only after spending months with this game
The dodge is simple but its awkward if you don't know the requirements. You HAVE to be aiming your weapon to dodge, that's the weird part that makes it way more confusing than it needs to be for new players.
So you hold R1 (assuming PS1) to aim, then wait for an attack and press X with the right timing to dodge. The timing is strict but you can honestly mash the X button and accidentally get a dodge more often than you'd think.
Time for popcorn.
I very much lament the fact that the RE games have no memorable music from 2000 onward. 😞
Music has _made_ almost half of the original games.
Yeah I can't think of any tracks from the newer remakes either. It's nice that you can switch between old and new songs, but that shouldn't be locked away as DLC 😣
@@raccooncitycinema really unfortunate that Capcom doesn't understand how integral to the success the music was.
They cut so much content from the re3 remake
Yeah they did. What struck me was how good the rng was. Each playthrough felt varied with all the different enemy spawns
Still sad re3 remake was so bad
This guide wasn't translated to English in any way? Not even by fans?
I'm not sure but you can find parts of it on Project Umbrella and there are parts on the Resident Evil wiki. Both are great resources if you haven't checked them out!
Actually, going through these guidebooks was basically inspired by finding a half translated list of secret features in Code Veronica on the Wiki 😄
I wanted to see for myself, and clear up some discrepancies and practice more Japanese
@@raccooncitycinema I see, thank you for the detailed response. 🙂
You can read those guidebooks in Japanese with ease, more or less? And, BTW, do you know if the ENGJAP machine translation improved recently? Last I checked (few years ago), it still wasn't good. I wonder, if those guides were machine translated today, would the text make sense?
0.59 dont remmber this place in the game
You can see it if you choose to jump off the bridge during the nemesis encounter
😌💕😌
All the remakes except the Gamecube RE1 are just trash. Who gives a shit about the new 3D camera and movement when half the gameplay, fun sequences, levels, enemies are just taken away?
Dude I really like your videos they're unique but "#17 is to spicy"? seriously? Demonetization is NOT censorship, this is a perfect example of money destroying whatever its involved in.....say it with me kiddos or brainwashed "adults" TH-cam WAS NEVER SUPPOSED TO BE A PRIMARY MEANS OF INCOME DO THINGS BECAUSE YOU WANT TO OR CAN! Ridiculous
