He stayed with his nana as she passed away Was really tough for Tyler He always has talked about being scared of dying He dedicates this to her at the end
Yeah man .. this one tore at my heart strings for sure… it’s kind of making me want to do a cover of it .. I love the vulnerability in his voice and the sound of the piano together ❤️
7:07 Re: comment from chat. I don’t think it's fair to say that Tyler is VERY religious. Honestly, we don't know what he really believes, or how strongly. A few things we do know from Tyler : 1. His parents did not grow up in very religious households. 2. Tyler's parents decided they would raise their children in a very religious household. 3. Tyler has struggled with his faith. 4. What Tyler believes is different from what his parents believe. 5. Tyler still considers himself Christian. Of course, these statements were true when stated, but none of us know his current beliefs, or if he is VERY religious. Whatever that even means. But even if Nana was "not very religious" still in the last year of her life, she may have still longed for an afterlife on passing. Or maybe she wondered, if she crossed the line, would there even be another side to visit from, or is it just emptiness? But what i think is saddest, is the memory she leaves as she passes. Tyler speaks of the room she was in, the curtains on the wall. That memory that Tyler probably doesn't want is the memory that visits too often.
It's amazing how Tyler manages to convey such complicated feelings to a wide audience. It thematically kinda ties in with navigating as this was what inspired it I believe. It would be nice to react to that one as well
This is best reaction I've seen for this song. And bled on the mic is perfect. We all feel that, but didn't know how to describe it. You've got a great way of describing feelings. Keep writing songs.
Until I heard Tyler talking about where the lyrics came from, I was liked it. he was with his grandmother when she passed away. Now it makes me bawl❤️❤️💃l-/ dude had amazing voice control, pitch. And sounds this great live. He has said he's a Christian and the songs from the self titled album has a lot of that in lyrics. They always play TREES as last song at show. I feel like that song is religious. Vessel is another album that will blow your mind. Guns for Hands!! Holding onto You, Ode to Sleep, CAR RADIO.
Great reaction, excellent tag 💛 I love how you let it play and didn't chop it up too much (only cuz it's still so fresh!) With cool analysis and insight at the pauses. First time I've cried to the song (and I've listened to it so soooo many times) thank you! 💛💛💛
I love Tyler’s voice and I think his vocals on this song is his most beautiful singing yet. I’ve missed the last couple of live streams. Will try to make it this week.
I also thought dementia/Alzheimers, as someone watching my FIL lose to this terrible disease. I have to keep reminding my 12yo to remember him how he was before but she really struggles with it, as do I sometimes 💔
If you've ever sat at the bedside of someone as they are crossing the line, this one is that moment put into song. It is brilliant. Tyler says it best here: th-cam.com/video/5UniIVuLmc8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=4p8rHr2OIf3R8IPo
You should check out the Mutemath Sessions with TOP. It's on TH-cam. 5 songs and it KICKS ASS!!!! Paul Meany is in it and he's been a producer with Tyler since Trench. I'm pretty sure. You'll really like it ✌🏼
This sound was probably the hardest but theres the album endings you absolutely gotta listen to that hit pretty rough. Truce from Vessel Goner from Blurryface (Goner from Regional At Best came first so maybe back to back check out the differences. RAB version is more haunting imo) Leave The City from Trench Redecorate from Scaled and Icy Honestly listening to the full albums and getting to these songs is such a odd reward. Especially for Scared and Icy. You really see where Tyler is in his life with these albums. Neon Gravestones from Trench is also up there for emotional.
I really enjoyed the reaction! It’s definitely a powerful song. Since you mentioned Alzheimer’s you definitely need to listen to their song Legend. I’ll leave it at that.
If you play it |-/ we will come 🌻
He stayed with his nana as she passed away
Was really tough for Tyler
He always has talked about being scared of dying
He dedicates this to her at the end
This one hits deep.
I loved every second of it meow meow, I love the fact that it’s mostly just him on the piano just letting his soul out!
Tyler's brother was even surprised it was such a deep song. He was expecting a hype song.
Yeah man .. this one tore at my heart strings for sure… it’s kind of making me want to do a cover of it .. I love the vulnerability in his voice and the sound of the piano together ❤️
@TociReacts you should do the cover!!
@@beckyjackson7755I second this!

“My voice is cracking” welp then you are right where you need to be
This song is about the perspective of someone on their death bed.

this and their cover of "cancer" by MCR are probably their most emotional songs
"I haven't heard piano ballad from them". Well I guess it's time for Before you start your day

This song has been on solid repeat since it came out

I think you would like Addict With a Pen UG Studios Session. It is also on piano and emotional.
I’ve been hearing a lot about that one! I’ll have to check it out!
their first album is about tylets struggle with his faith!
